First story was actually really tragic. Thankfully only the guilty got punished.
The guy that was the kid was sent to prison... It technically never says what happened to the father at least that was what i heard...
One violent offender I knew was after he did his time. I was tasked with accepting him to a graduate education program. He introduced himself and explained what he had done and why. Turns out, two things conspired against him: 1) he hadn’t been educated up to a graduate school level, and 2) because of the nature of his crime he had to tell everybody what he did. Some people in law enforcement couldn’t legally be in the same room with him. He seemed a worthwhile, properly repentant guy trying to get on with his life but his history made it impossible.
