- A team of engineers have developed a new 3D inkjet printing system that utilizes computer vision for contact-free 3D printing, letting engineers print with high-performance materials they couldn’t use before. (Learn more: news.mit.edu/2023/3d-printer-c...)

16,000 nozzles !?! Hopefully the system has some redundancy to correct for clogged nozzles.
This needs 28 more minutes of video to be fully appreciated- anyway, the snippet is still great.
Wow! This is so cool! So glad to have the opportunity to visit Inkbit's booth during the CSAIL's 20/60 Anniversary Symposium.
What??? This is fantastic! So many amazing possibilities that this could be applied to!
that's pretty genius for closed loop video control. I wonder if this closed loop monitor system can be transfer over to regular cnc machine.
I’m gonna go to this college one day, despite me being autistic. I’ll get here. Just you watch.
I believe u !
Me too. As soon as I graduate. Let's give it our all
@JackSalzman I’m 13
Hope you get there
@@lucy5.8 I am. In middle school. I am taking advanced classes with straight A’s and the occasional B or A+
Not too far off the Stratasys Objet (former Connex) printers. From this video it seems they added the closed loop with the camera on top of what was done already. Stratasys Object series already can do it all. 16 microns layer height. Any advance is welcome.
@@Zuluknob Thar's neat! I'm in need of making such high res in Z. Do you have any material published on your adventures?
@@Zuluknob You are spot on what necessary info to give. You seems not only good as a Maker but also as communicator. I wasnt aware yet of closed firmware. Multiple Z model by the gear ration reduction is the way. Noted. Thank a lot!
this is an interesting innovative process! 👏
they should use conductive filament
I may be able to meet friends from Houston here. I am moving there soon and I really want to talk to friends who are familiar with Houston.
멋지네~
Heat to get rid of the wax? Means the object itself will be affected by the heat...
1 million coming soon 🎉
How much did it cost?
can it calculate the final solution?
Interesting

I thought SLS printing was a crazy development.
Cool, now make a 3D printer that can print itself
😂😂 lol
Its not possible to print 3d objects just because it need to many parts to make it.

Such a great video
very interesting. I would love to see a slo-mo close up of the jets depositing the various materials. I am wondering how the wax becomes solidified? or because it is so thin a layer and essentially sits in a pool of wax.. it can solidy withou driping out and off the off object? perhaps a wall of material with a higher melt point surround the wax/ I am guessing with a such a thin(i presume) ink jet layer.. the resolution must be increibly high? Is the other materials it uses to print with, PLA or ABS plastics or ??
🎉🎉🎉
🤘🏅
cant wait for in a year for people to be just printing actual computers

Magnificent! ❤
Ah, so Westworld was actually a documentary!

Why is he an ask whole? He believes in world peace and he donated to both MIT and the poor citizens of Gaza.
