I really enjoy your simple, logical old fashioned approach to repairs. Being an old mechanic who tries to show those with less experience, I appreciate your calm relaxed approach to solving problems. I believe others would enjoy your continued teachings as well.

I would like to thank you for this video. My father was broke down six hours away from home. No Machanic could figure out what was wrong with the truck. Your video helped out. We just want to say thank you for posting this video. It was real helpful.

a certain canadian taught me the best way to clear up electrical issues is dual wielding ether cans into the intake while redlining pegged out on a cold start

Anybody else miss the old days?
One or two barreled carburetors, points, and mechanical fuel injection diesels?
    I have an 1967 MGB, 49 CJ 3, 1953 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup and a 1961 John Deere tractor.
If, and I repeat, if anything goes wrong on the road, I can usually fix it on the road!
I agree about the crimp on connectors! I always have trouble with them, usually at the worst time!

I've had issues in the past with those braided ground straps, they aren't reliable in areas where they are exposed to the elements as they reply on a crimp connection in the terminals and they tend to go high resistance exactly as you found.... I always replace them with a normal cable with good crimp connections and heatshrink with the inbuilt hot glue seal over the crimp.... works much better

Having troubleshooting DC circuits for 50+ years, I must say that 90% of the time the problem is ground related, and in AC 99% of the time the problem is the neutral.

Grounds can be a nightmare. My 03 cummins will do weird things when a body ground gets dirty. Thank God my Dad's a awesome mechanic. He found it in about a minute.

I found some crimp on connections at a marine supply that crimp on ,have heat shrink to water proof ,and soldiers the connection as heat gun does its thing , aren't cheap works really good.

The connectors supplied looked like that style. I tried them and found them to be useless, went back to either straight solder or crimping.

I am a Technician At the Chevy dealership I work at and on the gas powered trucks with the drive by wire throttle body they throw the reduced engine power code as well and the manufacturer has us replace the whole throttle body.

Every branche has its own issues. With boats we never use the braided straps but cables. Steel ships sometimes stil use the hull as earth.

Help !! My 2000 gmc 7500 top kick started with someone changing the starter not sure if this played into it. It ran but progressively got worse rough running, low power then no spark . Found crankshaft position sensor mounting bolt was stripped and held in with silicon. We tapped the thread and installed a new crank sensor but still crank no spark. The throttlebody engages when the key is turned on, and the fuel pump, relays are clicking, grounds have been checked in a new battery. Any ideas

Check fluid, check for codes. there is a internal filter that should be serviced every 2 times the external spin on is serviced.

As I remember?? that upper braided strap I couldn't get my hands on to?? Guess I will have to try harder when the now problems are fixed. I took 4 parallel #8 wire Crimped/soldered/ dual wall heat shrunk onto the battery ground to the one which is above the passenger tire inside the frame two forward for future and two to the rear for added light DC. I Kopper Koted the H**** out of the ready rod with S/S washers and . As it is easier to prevent a problem then fix it.

unless it is a communication problem between modules most aftermarket scan tools will do the trick.
