Thank you. I thought this video was the one I needed for replacing the battery in my Dell Inspiron 15-3567 Laptop Battery. I watched it while I waited for the battery to arrive in the post. It turned out to be the wrong laptop, but I appreciated how you went through every step carefully. It would have helped me if I had needed to open up the casing.
The screws are really small. If you have problems getting any of them out try 1) holding the laptop with your left hand and unscrewing the screw from underneath so that it can then fall out or 2) as much as you can unscrew the screw from above, as in the video, and use tweezers to do the last few turns to be able to then lift the screw out.
Excellent How To. A few comments. Those wide headed flat screws that hold the case to the DVD Slot needs a special phillips head screw driver. Super small and super sharp/pointy. What a pain. When I was taking my back off it would not release. Found a screw I forgot. Tried again found another I forgot. There are so many it is easy to miss one or two. Thank you again for your help.
My laptop was made in 2018. Battery got really bad so I replaced it at start of 2022 with an off brand replacement (for $50) and it lasted about 10 months. A new battery from Dell arrived yesterday ($130) and is going in today. Hopefully it will last longer.
@@melindaanderson3568I think so, but you see, I actually had an issue with my AC adapter a couple of weeks ago, where it was not charging the battery anymore, the battery reached a point where it was basically empty, but I still could use the laptop connected. The problem was that, first, the BIOS detected the AC issue as a problem and the low battery as well, and secondly, it was permanently in "saving mode" which meant all of its resources were low, even browsing was a pain in the neck. Taking this scenario in consideration I would assume that if you take the battery and bring power only through cable, the BIOS is gonna lose it, and you'll be stuck a low performance behavior until the battery is back at 100% (aka installed)
1:10 - Trying to open up my mum's old laptop and it's identical apart from this point. Dell have put three awful screws with the tiniest Phillips head you could possibly imagine. Was looking at sticking an SSD in it to speed it up but they've done their best to make it difficult.
@@andrewbaron7782 so I've since figured it out. You take a fine tip screwdriver or smaller and put it down in to the screw thread that lines up with the drive. It stands out because the thread is silver not black. Then push outward a few times and it will slide the drive right out then you can pop off the back cover, it worked for me.
I think it’s bullshit. You have to pay $150 for a new battery and you can’t even get the screws out on the CD drive because it’s a teeny tiny phillips screwdriver head and I’ve ruined two. Now I have to pay a computer place to put it in, another $40, plus driving an hour each way. I will not buy another Dell laptop, piece of crap.
Do you know if it's possible to turn on the laptop without a battery installed? Just with the charger connected? My battery seems to be failing. Windows 10 keeps telling me that the baterry is very low. Thanks for the video
Hello, i have been trying to bypass the battery and use the laptop plugin. Can you tell how to make the changes to the BM softwaretwithin window. Thank you @Documee
Thanks for the video. Dell sucks, I have never had to replace a battery and I use this laptop as a desktop, not used much. Also, my screen has micro cracks on the edge from just opening up the top.
Has anybody managed to change battery on a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (5505)? Dell are telling me it can only be changed by Dell on this specific 5505 model.
I just replaced the battery on my father Inspiron 15, computer turns on but says no harddrive found. Worked just fine before shutting down to replace the battery. Anyone else have this issue? Edit: Well I reseated the M.2 and it at least now tries to boot into windows but blue screens. Father in law doesn't have any important docs so just going to have to use Dell's factory reset utility.
First video that I see and learn tech knowledge without drama, music and special effects. Thanks a lot.
Okay Rody Quinton. What tech video has drama??

The only video I've seen about this model I going to mine but I don't know how to remove battery on it before repairing but now I know thanks alot!!!!
Super simple and, thankfully, no background music. Very helpful. I like the plectrum tip.
Great job. Went just as instructed! Thanks!
A great help. Had issues removing battery screws, however all now working again on battery. Thanks Documee.
That's a great tip with the guitar pick! I wish I had used that when taking the frame off my monitor! Thanks :-)
what type of battery should i buy for dell inspiron 15 5000 series?

Thanks. Very helpful. My second batter replacement on my 5570. The screws were challenge.
Truly excellent explanation and demonstration. Thankyou SO much!!
Thank you, just what I was looking for.
This was so helpful. Thank you very much!
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you very much! This video helped me a lot
Great instructional video , can you tell me if the laptop would work if you removed the battery and just ran it on mains power?
Yes it does
Спасибо большое! Очень помогли!

Eleven months later and how is it going 😐?
@@aaroncourchene4384 Battery working well. During install I lost the connection to the internal speakers though the speaker jack still works.
Does Anyone Know If Computer Will Work Directly Off Power Cord? Without Battery?
what about now?

to the point information!
To change the cmos battery it's necessary to disassemble the entire motherboard, right?
Thank you
Where can I purchase the same battery?
How do you remove the CD drive though? I can't just pull it out easily.
I have the same problem. Is there a technique to doing that please?

Quick tip: If you need help removing screws, try using a magnet. A strong fridge magnet was what I used.

I just tried replacing my father in law's battery, he's got a 15 5000 series and now says no hard drive found....
I did it but my CD Rome doesn't come off
Nope, could not get CD rom out or remove the top.
Me neither. 🙈
In fact, even if all the screws are unscrewed, it is not easy to remove the casing. The design of this model is poor and the plastic breaks easily.
Question? Can I Remove Battery And Just Run Off Power Cord Without Replacement? Please Someone 😔
Mine has no CD rom. 5510.
i replaced the battery and now on boot up the screen says hard drive not installed....HELP
why I have to allow youtub add I'm not a business.
I got my battery from dell
I have no business to get paid from youtube.
To replace would have been to put a new battery in!!!!! This is just how to take a battery out.....not very helpful...
