In 2017 it was bad taste by popular opinion. Most guys were still doing the undercut or side part deal. The longer hairstyles came back in part due to Covid and intermittent lack of access to barbers. You wear anything long enough it will come back in fashion. The market needs to recycle the set number of functional styles to perpetuate consumerism.
i always do my son's hair, and videos like these truly help me get better. I know he'll look sooooo good with this hair cut and I thank you for helping me understand how to do it.
I have this exact hairstyle. I recommend using a hairband (the zigzag looking one preferably) in the very front of the hair after blowdrying. Leave it on for 20 to 60 mins and afterwards you will have really nice volume to work with in the front. Takes a while to get used to though as you don't want too much volume so avoid having the band too far back
I wish everyone who call themselves stylists was at least half as good as you are. My mom who one day I asked to cut my hair with one of your videos did a better job than any other place I went before, so thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
as a mom who's here to do exactly that for her son, we care more about how you look than even you do. I have made mistakes before but after 13 years of doing my son's hair I've never been satisfied with professional barbers results. they aren't nearly as invested in my son as I am😅
I'm doing so many of these kinds of haircuts at the salon right now. I've been visualizing how i want it to lay, and feeling out the cut to try to figure out the best way to go about it, with no real direction at all. I watched this video today right before I went to my men's cut appointment to try to have more of a plan this time around. This helped me so much! Starting at the nape and getting his back base length in order first made it so much easier to flow everything else back into it. Thank you for making this. I appreciate your time.
Best hair tutorial I have ever stumbled upon. Tried it on my younger brother and he is very happy about the result. I’m not a professional but I think I did great for my first time especially after seeing this video. ❤
Thanks so much for posting this. Cut my 3 sons hair at home alot, never knew how to blend the back. I always just clippered it and gave them a bowl cut. Thanks for walking me through this better way!
you could use a white shirt to make contrast white the dark hair, will help to see the details when you are cutting it. Perfect cut btw, thanks for sharring! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for this video, it was very helpful. I just cut my hair and im very happy about it. Turned out pretty alright for my first time . I had a harder time cutting the back of my head because i had no assistant but turned out already. Thankful for the video.
Thanks for the video. This is the exact hair style I’m going for once my hair gets a bit longer! Now to just find a stylist to cut it haha. Too bad I couldn’t get you to do it haha🤘🏻.
41:15 it's too square on the top imo, kinda like the high-school nerd lol, I think it would look nicer if it had a little more volume on top... whenever I'm styling and trying to pull off a good look with the curtains, usually I slick back with my hand from top-middle to back, and luckily the volume "blends" the curtains, so it doesn't look like I just brushed to the sides like the nerd
Would you ever do videos on how to do all the hairstyle tutorials you've posted BUT ON YOURSELF? I want to try all these hairstyles you've posted but I'm no hairstylist and neither are the people in my life who are also busy with their own things. I want to learn how to do all the hairstyles here on myself solo, especially since I'm struggling with this video enough.
I've learned how to cut my hair from his videos. It can be really tricky to cut your own hair with a comb and scissors, gotta find the right hand placement. And you definitely want a three way mirror
I need a haircut within the next day and a half, all the shops I’m willing to pay for are booked or only taking walk ins. Now I just need to find someone I trust enough to do this…
I suggest someone with perfection issues 😅 we’re usually pretty good at cutting hair because we look at every individual hair and make sure it’s perfect 😂
Would this hairstyle work with thick, straight hair and if so are there any particular products i need to use? Cause I'm tempted to try and get this hairstyle the next time I get my haircut.
I've seen people with thick straight hair do this but then either completely use shorter clippers with a fade on the part below the 'mop top' or at least have it partially cut and then tapered towards the neck. Might the last one on my husband as he looks good with bangs but the rest of his hair always makes everything look thick and chunky 🤔
Hey I've had this hairstyle a couple times and I found salt spray/ styling mousse worked good - you let them dry in damp hair, I used a loose headband to hold my hair up while it dries to help it have a good shape. Also, if it's easier, sunglasses on top of your head can work as well to hold your hair up without squishing it :)
I have started using this style late last year as i have some light recession on the sides towards the temple and hides it well and i have a long heart shaped face. But the problem is i have horrible rough curly hair which usually is dries and clumps up and makes some bad hair days, i usually would remove this with a Straightener, combing and natural air drying coz it will frizz bad i blow dry it. Would you know a product that could help me straighten my hair and/or maybe make it less Frizzy?
can you tell me how I fix my hair It's quite hard to explain but basically I have a middle part, and the other side of the hair Is more behaved like wavy flatter and goes In the direction I want It to go to, the other side however Is straight and, just falls down naturally In a straight way I don't know how to fix this, I don't know what the term for this, I don't know how to describe this. Please help.
What if my hair was curly and a bit straight, will it still fit well or look weird? And if I can use a straighten product what would be the healthiest for my hair?
if you look up "male undercut curly" you can see examples of how some men have managed to incorporate this style to accommodate their curls. there are curl products to make your curls gloss together rather than frizz. the only way I could suggest straightening your hair without damage would be to gently comb it flat and put a wave cap on at night so that it dries in that shape heat damages hair... but depending on how tight your curls are there are many great varieties on this cut to accommodate them and compliment your face
Finding the right person to cut your hair is the hard part. I tell and show the stylist the haircut that I want and her first cut i can it's not the haircut I asked for. She then gets offended. Why? Now I have to walk around for a year until my hair grows back to go to a different stylist. Again, she messes it up!. They'll never tell you they can't cut that style, they should, they need to. And they think it's no big deal. I wish we didn't have to maintain I'd hair so often . how do a find a good stylist!!#
yeah same I always show them the haircut and then they are like yeah ok and after that its horrible short as fck. One time I asked barber to cut my fringe like only 1-2 cm and he cut it like half of it so my fringe that I fck grow for like several months was again cut to the middle of the forehead. Like do they know that it takes several months to grow a hair and on top of that fringe takes really long time. Now I growing it again I will wait for several months and probably do one haircut in the spring that is on my mind and probably will do it myself becaouse I don't have patience for another round with these kind of barbers.
Ι wanted to ask why you choose to shave down your hair since it looks like you have plenty of hair and just shave it, it doesn't look like you're bald. I get if you like the look I certainly think it suits you. I just thought I'd ask
Is it just me or is neck hairline on the mannequin pretty low. I like the way the cut looks. Sometimes curtains has really big diagonal angles and very short at the back. I prefer I nice balance. 😊
I was a teenager in the 90’s and I always felt that this “style” of hair was simply the result of wanting to grow your hair out long. I dont think anyone showed up at a salon asking for this look. It’s hilarious to me that people think this is a cool look now a days. I hated it back then because I thought it was ugly. Still do
I tried this hairstyle back in 2017 and everyone called me outdated and that hairstyle looked weird......Now is a trend
This is my favorite hairstyle, it's actually my only and default one.
It takes 30 years for trends to come back lol. This was popular in my jr high school circa 1992

theres a product that can permanatley straighten hair but your new growth comes in with the same hair texture.
Have you tried switching your shampoo? Bad shampoos can dry out hair a lot
if you have recession, adding damage to your hair can cause more hair loss...
Thank you for the video! Now it's my turn on myself. Wish me luck..
If you back up the camera by even just like 5 feet, you can lower the head and be able to see the top and not take it away from your height at all

can i have this hairstyle with 2b hair?
Could you do this with a side part?
does this work with wavy hair?
It looks different but good, just leave it a bit longer than the original cut because wavy hair looks always shorter than straight hair
Works even better with wavy hair brother! Straight hair and middlepart isn’t as good as some wave in it. Trust me
In Norway this is the most common hairstyle and if you have wavy hair like me it stands out so much more

I got a big ass forehead, I don’t have a this particular haircut but when I middle part it often the shadow caused by volume can help hide it 👍
