The owner is correct. His sons are being far too sensible. A decision that will, over time, be a cause for regret I believe. Excellent video as always, thank you.

I’ve only just found it and making my way through the back catalogue. I love finding these channels.

The E9 CSL has always been one of my absolute favourites. Fantastically placeable car, plenty of power, and the feeling of being part of the machine. As they say, the ultimate driving machine.
However, please tell us, Simon, who's music is playing in the background? I've tried to Shazam it, but no joy.
Sounds a lot like Mr Gilmour? Please tell me it is, and where its taken from?

The automated recognition system says it's "Float" by David O'Brien / Johnny Lithium. Probably royalty-free library music.

Don't sell it! Your boys may regret this in the future. I did when my Father sold a very significant car to us (Porsche 911 3.2 Carerra) I now long for aged 50!

I agree, that CSL is irreplaceable. I am now 50 years old myself, my dad was always a sensible man, he sold off several fantastic cars between 1973 and 2000. He and I regret so much the sale of some of those cars now. Some needed to be kept forever and handed down the next generation to enjoy and treasure.

    Wonderful...
Brings back memories. I had a 3.0 CSi.
As most of those it had sever rust and it took some 8 m² to fix it up again.
It was fitted with a 3,3 Si engine when I bought it and I swapped it to a M535 plant.
    That worked pretty well.
Somewhere along the line I sold the car for another project.
One of the more stupid things I've done.

What a great story. Only problem is that the boys will want to get their licenses even more now. 😮

Nice story. I love the documentary about Ludovic Lindsay driving Remus.

If the sons want the money for their houses I would suggest they don't " get" the car, and are not enthusiasts. From looking at the owners house it seems unlikely that his sons are in poverty and thus likely to lose their houses. Absolutely their choice, but I think the expression on the owners face tells the story of how disappointed and even hurt he is.

Great car but it is not at home on these damp, narrow and broken roads. It needs roads like can be found plenty in the Eifel area.

Sorry Guys, but the "Batmobile" was not Hans Stuck's car, it was Hans-Joachim Stuck's („Strietzel“) personal car. Racing driver Hans Stuck was his father.😉

Let’s be real. Anytime anyone mentions Stuck and the 3.0 CSL, they mean career racer Hans-Joachim Stuck and not his father. Your correction equates to a typo not a misstatement of fact.
