I listen to this as I study or edit videos lol
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe
cries 😢😢😢
I am crying right now. They don't make cars like this anymore.
The sheer control out of the second carousel is absolutely mental, went in got sideways bounced out and gained traction and stability, absolute monster. Those tires were hot as hell I bet.
I think Hans was good at catching a slide out of kleines karoussel, as he did it in the video of the 2nd lap of VLN in the 2004 VLN video from Steffen Spies.
4:05 the transmission whine is unreal
9:20 this part 😫
God, i wish their BMW LMDh has the P60B40 instead
Imagine

Ah, so my blender has a V8 in it, INTERESTING
This race car really is the pre-cursor of E92 M3 road car. That V8 engine is still an absolute masterpiece. ❤️❤️
Actually the S62 E39 M5 was the main forerunner of the S65 E92 M3, since the S65B40 is the successor and development of the S62. The BMW M3 GTR's P60B40 is the forerunner of the BMW M3 GT's P65B40 and the BMW Z4 GT3/E's P65B44.
This is the pinnacle of a car! It will never get better then this ever!
You have the rip of these somewhere? (Since its off DVD)
Just in case in a worse possible scenario that this got taken down
I have the DVD so if it gets taken down I can re-record it
@@TurboAfterlifeRacing very nice bro!!!
Never ceases to amaze me...
Just another day in the office for Herr Stuck.
Justo no inferno verde que a habilidade é demonstrada
Straight cut gears cause the high pitched sound
Spur gears. Straight cut teeth.
@@TurboAfterlifeRacingaren’t gears with straight cut teeth called straight cut gears? Correct me if im wrong…
@@maxoberg4642 Spur gears 😊
@@TurboAfterlifeRacing spur gears it is then…
What engine is that?
BMW Motorsport P60B40
@@TurboAfterlifeRacing thanks
Anyone know the transmission that was featured? Newer videos don't sound the same.
I believe it was Holinger. Specially for the M3 GTR.
@@TurboAfterlifeRacing @ponywithnoname I think it was (from what i've read over the years) is its a Hewland Dog Box. Atleast in the 2001 season. To sum it up, the straight cut gears in this transmission were super fat and wider than normal back in the day. from my years of following the history of this car, it was a one-off build just for this car. This V8 had some serious power. the gears were overkill in terms of durability from what i've read, they were super fat, the thinking and truth of transmissions always being the weakest link in endurance racing. It came about really right before the cusp of modern solenoid type sequentials you see in, f1 cars, drift/rally, even nascar today. Dog box is an older technology, sports cars guys have been running these since the early 1990s. Advantage, clutchess fast up shifting, but requiring clutch downshifting. The cons, the dogs (in place of synchros) wear out and need to be rebuilt after so many hours. In 2004, F1 cars had sequentials but that was about it. Maybe some unlimited rally cars. Perhaps the rules in sports cars was you still needed H pattern in 2000-2004. The advantage of (modern sequential) is being able to downshift like a dirtbike without needing to clutch. I believe its a closely guarded secret, i've never seen a true exploded view of this transmission. Likely much of the technology is still used in IMSA/Le Mans racing to this day, but with modern technology. From an engineering standpoint, the only thing I can assume is they minimized the width of the gears, reducing durability but in turn also reducing drag/friction, subsequently reducing the beautiful whine. I once saw Hans race (one of these) cars in 2002 or so at Lime Rock when i was like 7 years old, i;ve been a fan ever since. We will likely never see a racecar this raw, analog and unchained ever again
@@enduroian @enduroian Great reply. And yes, it was Hewland, I got it mixed up with Holinger.
In 2001 ALMS, prototypes had sequential, like the Audis. And GT didn't require H-pattern, they had back&forth too. And it is true about modern race cars, and not being as raw as they used to be, but GT3 is still pretty good. The 991 and 992 GT3 Cup and GT3 R both have good sounding gearboxes. There are other GT3 cars which sound (and probably feel) raw and sporty too.
@@TurboAfterlifeRacing very cool. Thanks for the reply, I wonder where these cars ended up today…
Those are straight cut gears which make the high pitched sound.
That Flugplatz section gives me chills everytime since Jann
Pour faire ce qu'il fait, il faut 4 couilles et 4 roues motrices.
Lol
Is this upscaled?
No. It is original quality from CD
