I'm glad they tweaked the gameplay, there just wasn't enough scissor-action in the original, and he was super easy to avoid. I'm glad he randomly pops out now, to spice things up.
I wish they'd done a full graphics overhaul for this, like use the same game but new hand drawn graphics that match the new cutscenes. and then make it so you could switch between the new and 16-bit graphics.
When I read about way forward I expected graphics alas Shantae tbh. Even Livestream has better graphics and plays like clock tower (though too much fanservice lol)
I just watched that movie for the first time as I’ve just been getting into the giallo genre and absolutely loved it!! This release couldn’t come at a better time for me because it had me immediately thinking of Clocktower PS1, come to find out it was massively inspired by phenomena
@@davidkozak9289 Crazy right? Just to stumble into something like that, and make that mental connection. Only to look it up and you were right on the nose.
For a re-release I was surprise to find out that there were 4 different companies involve in this game: Sunsoft, Capcom, WayForward, and Limited Run Games.
I LOVE these types of doco's! You feel the passion and appreciate it's history and lore, I wanted to get into it back in the golden age of gaming, but was forever distracted with school n whatnot, now I have no excuse! Gosh I wish I had this fervour and desire for new games this era but I just flat out dont and it's exceedingly rare if I do, welcome to my collection Clock Tower rewind, your now apart of my beloved collection, and thank you immensely for covering this! 💪😎 I'm also pretty eager on your opinion and thoughts on Slitter head or Slither head it's the same Dev's as Silent Hill so very curious on what you have to say on that game, gosh it's great finding the diamond in the rough of incredibly meh games out at the moment
Clock tower don't cry Jennifer this was my 1st ever horror game before resident evil, alone in the dark and silent hill came along after. Be nice to see the other clock tower games remastered including 2 amd 3, haunting ground and rule of rose another two gems be great to see remastered for the survival horror genre. 🙏♥️
Clock Tower 3 reminds me a bit of Haunting Ground. Really loved Haunting Ground back then and because i always heard its inspired by Clock Tower, i wanted to play that one too. Gladly now i can. Thanks for reviewing and giving a bit of a history lesson about the franchise. PS: I really hope Haunting Ground also will come back for modern plattforms/pc.
Yes, reason for that is haunting ground was a spiritual sequel to clocktower. If I remember right, the team list the rights to it. For the best, haunting ground is far better and does very good as stand alone. Wish it had a sequel of its own.
I think publishers are desperately trying to find the sweet spot of how much they can tarnish intellectual property and still have us buy it. I’m sure there will be nasty surprises in this release as people dig through it, but at least it’s not in your face. It will probably be like Jacob Geller‘s Hit Detection with the Silentsilent Hill 2 remake. I would honestly love to hear the justification for working with someone on a game who has publicly said that the world would be better off without gamers.😮
@@YaYAbIsCiT uh... I'm not really certain as to the quote Sonicstillpoint is referring to but I had in mind someone who is heavily involved with promoting the release and who has contributed to it. I wasn't mentioning who since I didn't want to flame the individual or anything.
Having played the original on an emulator years ago and then getting Clock Tower 3 on the PS2 many years later, it truly does feel like an evolution for the series. You are forgetting NightCry though, the Clock Tower Reboot which was Kickstarted a while back and took place on both a ship and an island. NightCry wasn't bad, it was just buggy - and it followed Clock Tower 3's style quite well.
Can’t wait to play this one again. I would’ve definitely pre-ordered if any of the usual storefronts had put up anything. I picked up the Japanese PlayStation version along with Haunting Ground back in the PS3 era. Since I didn’t know any Japanese at the time, there was a real sense of accomplishment, just knowing I jumped through all the hoops correctly.
I'm glad to see this get a release. Not sure If I'll get it though. I've always been attracted to this series, but always wussed out on playing them lol
i started with the ps2 exclusive (i think) clocltower 3 , i am interested in this one, but weirdly enough, there is no release date on steam, seeing this video i thought it was released, when is it coming out btw ? this month ? next month ? december ?
i have not played the original of this game, but i have played all the other clock tower games that came out in the U.S. it would have been nice if they remade this game instead of an updated port? this franchise could still be big, if given the attention and love it needs.
Will you be checking out Clock Tower: Rewind? Let us know in the comments below!
I still love Clock Tower 3 even with the flaws.😂
I would love a re-release of that game along with Haunting Ground.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
They need to do haunting ground next
I don't think modern audiences could handle Haunted Ground... So I totally agree and they should do it being as brutal and creepy as possible!
Yeah definitely and take out anything bad for a "modern audience"
Day 1 buy from me if they ever do.

It would’ve been ideal, but i understand they wanted to preserve the original experience
This would require effort.
I feel the same way. Why call it a remake if you are just repacking it?
When I read about way forward I expected graphics alas Shantae tbh. Even Livestream has better graphics and plays like clock tower (though too much fanservice lol)
I loved the original release but I expected more effort from Wayforward.
It's a remaster + localization. Maybe someday we'll get a remake but for now, it is what it is
Just watched Phenomena this past Friday, and was getting some Clock Tower vibes. Looking forward to playing this official US release.

And the game is getting a rerelease around the same time. Too much of a coincidence, or the matrix? lol.
Clock Tower was a great story, and of course young Jennifer Connely was a major crush of mine growing up. (Ps Rest In Peace Lotte )
Pretty cool history around this series. It's nice to finally have it legally available outside of Japan!
Bro did Clocktower 3 dirty!!
Haha sorry it wasn't for me, and the sales reflect not many others wanted it either. Glad it has some fans!
@IDreamofIndie it came out at a bad time but it does have favorable reviews it's honestly a great playable slasher film.
For a re-release I was surprise to find out that there were 4 different companies involve in this game: Sunsoft, Capcom, WayForward, and Limited Run Games.
Plus I love all the different endings you get in this unlike what resident evil has screwed us out of in recent releases
Clock Tower 3 was an awesome game and my favorite when I was a kid. I widh they would release it again for switch.
Anyway, we should all buy this as it raises awareness so we might get an official remake.

Clock Tower 3 was great. Loved it and it was twisted and dark.
That's funny , ct 2 was better than the first one for me
I've always wanted to play this
Now is your chance 😁
@IDreamofIndie grabbing it on payday, appreciate the solid review
The 3rd one is considered a classic PS2 horror nowadays, sales have nothing to do with quality.

Not seeing the benefit to buying. Putting a short cutscene doesn't mean it's worth buying again
Can't wait to play this. Just waiting on my limited run copy. Sometime in November they say.
I hope in the Rewind Jenifer's stamina issue is not so annoying
She heals much quicker and it can be activated with a button press!

Fair enough! 😂
I love clock tower, but just wanted to ask if you're a I Dream Of Jeannie fan? Hence the channel name.
Yes! The channel name comes from my grandmother watching the show when I was a kid! (She half raised me at times)
@IDreamofIndie My grandma is also why I know I Dream Of Jeannie and Matlock and Gilligan's Island. 😄
I wish I could afford this but I already bought Red Dead Redemption on PC.😢
The rooms are randomized?! Are you sure? They weren’t like that before and they don’t seem like that now.
The rooms are yes not the rules. Certain rooms will move around each playthrough.
Very few rooms are randomized. Around 4 of them, all in the other wing. (One of them is always locked on original Super Nintendo release)
Yeah, I think he upsold that a bit. But a cool feature worth mentioning is that events changed based on what order you do things.
I bought a copy from limited run 🔥
Enjoy 😊
I should’ve had its sequel attached to it.
Maybe that will get a similar treatment if this one does well, would be cool!
Wait till bro finds out about kings field, that stuff is a nightmare to understand at first, kings field, kings field and kings field 3😂😂😂
Man the ps1 version looks amazing tbh
Clock tower 3 was ok it felt like some weird anime mixup that was just not it
I don’t think the rewind feature should be featured in games, especially for horror. It just takes away from the horror experience
It's not forced or anything so players are able to use it if they wish or ignore it.
