I’m guessing you mean my quest to get to 100,000 subscribers? Nope I haven’t gotten there and it looks like I never will. Over 17 million views on this video alone. Lets say each person watched it 4 times, thats still over 4 million people I’ve helped on this video and I’m only at 38,000 subs. Which means about 1% of viewers actually subscribe. Currently I’m getting about 10 subscribers a day. So at this rate I should get to 100,000 in another 17 years. Seems hopeless, but I still keep asking people to help me out. So if you haven’t yet, please subscribe so I can get to 100k subs. :)

Hey man, I just wanted to let you know that I first learned to solve a Rubik's cube from your video, and now I can solve it in under 30 seconds! It's all thanks to you for your extremely detailed and clear explanation! Thank you
Amira R. Bring the corner under where you need it to go. If it is facing to the left turn the cube so the corner is facing you and do a D' R' D R move. If it is facing the the right, bring the cube do the corner is facing you and do D L D' L'. Hope this helped :)
Amira R. If in the case of the corner facing down, bring it under where it needs to go and turn the cube so the corner is on your right. Do R' D2 R D R' D' R. That will fix the corner.
this was the first tutorial i watched on how to solve the rubik's cube and 3 years later i have 6 national records a single of 10.27 and a average of 13.73 thanks for the great tutorial!

My dad wanted to solve a rubik's cube, so I showed him this video. Now he won't stop shouting *_sEnD iT aWaY_* right at my face when he solves one of these. My ear hurts from all the times my dad shouted "send it away". At least he knows how to solve one.
One thing this video needs is the alternative moves for when the cube is slightly different from what the video currently shows. Like I've reached the bottom cross part, but my backwards L is on the right instead of left. Not sure if I should do the same move anyway, or if I need to invert the move, or if I need to do something else entirely etc etc
+chrisycee Just set the cube on a table in front of you. Walk to the left side, is the Backwards L correct? If not walk to the right side of the table, Is it correct now? If not, try walking to the other side of the table, I bet it's correct now.
I'm guessing you have the 3 centers and the bottom Right? Like a Long L as apposed to the short 3 square L I show in the video? Then you have a line. Ignore the bottom left corner, turn the cube ninety degrees and proceed with the instructions as if you have a line.
+VinceRocca Since my comment I've solved the cube like 20 times (thanks to this video!) so I can't remember the exact position, and I think I may have been misinterpreting the instructions. Either way, I've got it now, so thanks very much!
+chrisycee Check out the TheSergB channel. He teaches every possible combination for alternativee moves. He even dedicates a separate video on solving the last layer and shows every single possible alternative. I learned the cube two days flat with him. My hardest part was the third layer(last layer) this guy even teaches the terminology and I feel like a real cuber now.
I just stumbled upon this again after learning from it some 9 odd years ago. I went on to become Australian 6x6 and 7x7 national champion lol. Time flies jeezus
Vince, I learned how to do the cube from this very video 8 years ago. I am now 23 and am nearly graduated as a Dr in Veterinary medicine. I have been in many social situations where just solving the cube impressed others. Just wanted to express my gratitude and that I got a great job offer last week and solving the specialists cube played a part in that 😂. Best of luck with everything and thank you!
Thats awesome. My wife is a vet tech at the LA Zoo. Caring for animals is a rewarding career and you will no doubt continue to impress others with the true magic of solving their fur babies puzzle. Thanks.
@@VinceRocca How amazing! And you are absolutely right, it’s a puzzle with a different kind of satisfaction when you get it right. God bless you both and thanks again ❤️.
This was the BEST tutorial ever! After 3 to 4 years of trying to solve the Rubik's cube, this tutorial made my 9 year old daughter (beginner) solve it! Thanks!
Awesome. Congratulations to your daughter. It is a skill she’ll use to impress for a lifetime. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
almost makes me want to go hunting for a cube just to try this.. but then I have flashbacks of the countless hours of frustration and anger and remembering how I... along with many others, used to solve this... pop the thing apart and put it together the right way, or as a former classmate did in German class, paint his cube all black.. this was back in the early 80s..
+Kazahmish ha i was lucky, about six years ago i got one for my birthday and have left it unsolved since but was determined after i saw my mum complete it
+The Batchicle How fast can I solve it? depends... to this day I still haven't actually solved it from a scrambled cube, but when I bought it from Walmart it was already solved, so why mess with it? ;-) TBH I haven't really had any time to mess with it, but I am confident I will someday be able to solve it within a week... ;-)
I remember learning from this tutorial when I was 11 years old some 7 or so years ago. I now regularly go to competitions and average 11 seconds. This hobby is a big part of my life and all because of you. You earned my subscribe.
+Atkinson Machingauta Yeah, I've seen that one. Sad that UA-cam leaves it up. I'm sure it only discourages people. But glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
Excellent instructional video! You may not be the quickest to solve, but you sure seem to be the most elaborate and precise to explain. Thank you for taking your time to produce this video.
I agree. This would be the video tutorial I would recommend to someone trying to learn it. I remember learning how to do it as a teen, but I don't remember it being so hard. Maybe it's because I learned by someone teaching me movement sequences, instead of algorithm. I know it basically the same, but it feels different. Following the direction of primed or unprimed letters seems to make it more difficult. I'm just glad that this video helped me get it done.
+kings17court Thanks. I feel the notation helps people after they learn by the algorithms, then they can use the notation as the next step in learning. The notation is also great if you want to pause and write it down then follow the STEPS. It's like Google maps, you can watch the graphical map, or read the list of directions. Please subscribe so I can get to 100k subs.
I just subscribed as a gesture of appreciation. I'm using what I learned from you to teach my 8-year old to do it. He's 2 algorithms away from solving it! He could get the bottom of the 3rd layer the same color.
I've watched every video on the cube. This is the only one that worked. Just common sense, slow pace, well documented. No focus on speedsolving, not turning the cube, etc. Best beginner video. I'm not going for speed, I want the damn thing solved and you did it. Kudos!
+Progressional Thank you very much. You got exactly what my intent was. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
What seems years ago, I searched for a Rubik’s cube solve, and stumbled upon this. I’m so glad I did, and I will never go to another source when I forget part of the algorithm. Love this video and will keep coming back!
This helped me learn how to solve the Rubik's cube for the first time. Now I am sub-30 and have learned CFOP, but I always reccommend this video to friends or other people who ask me how I learned the beginner's method. This video is very clearly articulated and easy to follow. Thank you for making such a great video!
Thank you for the review and referrals. It’s awesome to hear that you’re now sub 30 and that journey started here with me. Glad I could help as I always request please subscribe so I can get to 100k subs, but I’m guessing you already do. :)
NICE TUTORIAL I AM A SCHOOL TEACHER, I HAVE TAUGHT THIS SOLUTION TO MANY OF MY STUDENTS, THE MOST HAPPIEST THING IS THAT MANY OF THEM SOLVE FASTER THAN ME THANKS DEAR
Awesome. It’s a fantastic math problem with real world application. Students can grasp what an algorithm means and the underlying fundamentals of video games. Kudos to you for teaching it. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
Great tutorial, I learned from this almost 2 years ago and I am now an 11-13 second 3x3 solver. Thanks for getting me started, or I would have never found the incredibly awesome cubing community.
I used this video years ago to learn. Needed a refresher to teach my son and couldn’t find this video at first. None of the other ones made sense to me and I’m so glad I searched through results til I found it again! Thank you!
Awesome. Glad I’m still around for you to find again. Hitting the subscribe button might make it easier to find next time.at the least it’ll make me happy. Cheers on passing the knowledge on to your offspring. It’s great to know I played a part in it.
i have searched about 5 hours for a tutorial on how to solve this cube and just as i was about to quit i saw this one and it worked after 2 tries doing it so thank you so much your way of doing it is the best but how did you manage to memorize all the moves
+Aly Tawfik Also, once you do it on the cube a bunch of times, it eventually becomes muscle memory like for me! I don't even have to think the algorithms anymore!
+Erica Arruda I learned how to solve one as a child, without any help. And I don't recall the names of the moves that he used, I only know how to do it using muscle memory..
Oh. You. Rock. Thanks for saying this. It’s awesome to know I played a part in molding your childhood. Again thanks and Please subscribe if you haven’t yet.
I am a cuber for 3 years and one day I decided to look up a to Tutorial good for beginners and I kept searching then I found yours and it was very great video no not like great video like Great great great video! And I shared it with my friends and my friend always want to solve a cube and he solve it because of you thank you!!!!!!
Dear Vince Rocca, one year back my friend play with cube after that day im very eager to know cube solving . I order new cube in amazon they deliver the product in 3days ,then i search lot of cube sloution video in youtube finally i found you & one week continuesly i watch your instructions and algorithms on the 12th day after purchasing cube and watching your videos i solve the cube in 5.44sec 😍 now after one year im little more fast hands solve the cube in 1.03mins .dear Rocca THANK YOU & LOVE YOU😍😍😊
The best Rubik's UA-cam available, imo. I have watched quite a few, but this has by far been the simplest, precise and articulate one available out there. For those who struggle with applying the algorithms/patterns when reading the code (like me), here is my tip: find a desired move to one similar to being shown, and instead of applying the algorithm by code, mimic the hands on the screen. He goes slow and smoothly enough to mimic his movements on your own. LATER reference the abbreviation/code. It was by far easier for me this way. Between Left/Right and Clockwise/Counterclockwise, I would stop and start so many times that inevitably I screwed it up. When I mimic the moves, 100% every time. Thank you so much for taking the time to put forth the effort of making this video user friendly. You have done a great job of identifying what obstacles a viewer would have. A+
+jannamwatson Thanks. My goal was to simply teach, I appreciate you noticing. I'd also appreciate it if you subscribed. I'm trying to get to 100k subs.
Coming here to say thank you. I'm making a website about cubing for my college IT class and needed to come back to where it all started for me almost 6 years ago. I now have a love for cubing thanks to you.
Awesome. Cubing and IT share many solutions in common. 1. There’s usually and algorithm. 2. You could take it apart. 3. Sometimes smashing it is the only way.
By far the best video I found to help me learn how to easily solve this cubic puzzle!! Still have to memorize the steps and the not-too-hard algorithms, but getting there!! Thanks a lot!!!
OMG! I solved my cube as I watched him explain each step! No one can ever explain it better than this! This video was suggested to me by my sister who learnt it from him through this video and she can now solve a cube in under 2 minutes! Hoping to get there! Thanks a million Vince Rocca! ❤️
Awesome. Congratulations. The more times you do it. The less confused you’ll be. Plus you’ll memorize the moves. Cheers. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
I learnt how to cube around 8 years ago using this video. I got back into cubing around 2 years ago and am now 83rd in Canada for 6x6!!!. I looked to find this tutorial again, but I couldn't find it. Today it popped into recommended. Thanks, Vince for starting me on this journey.
I never comment on UA-cam but I have to right now! For about 6 years I fiddled with rubik's cubes and could get 2 colors but that was it. I step by step followed your video for about 3 hours through trial and error (1 wrong move while doing algorithm scrambled cube many times) and now I have solved the cube. Going to write these algs down and practice everyday. I've tried to learn for so long but most books are too confusing and 99% of tutorials lack proper explanation. I'm hoping when I deploy (I'm in the army) I will remember the algs and in free time fiddle with my cube. Thank you so much! You're literally going to be the 1st person I have ever subbed to!
Thanks for the sub. And bigger thanks for your service. I made this video in part to help my nephew remember after he joined the Marines. So your comment puts a smile on my face. Thank you.
This was the only tutorial which made sense to me three years ago as everything is so clearly explained. I have since become a speedcuber and I now average around 15 seconds as well as having a large collection of other twisty puzzles. I run a university club for rubiks cubes and I teach the same method as is taught in this video to new cubers, I refer them to this video whenever they're stuck too and they always remark how clearly you explain each step. Thanks for the vid, from me and the many friends I have forwarded it to : )
Awesome. Thank you so much for the compliment. And you have no idea how jazzed I am to hear you are teaching it. That rocks. As always, glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers. :)
I watched this video a long time ago like 5 years ago, i didn't have one but i watched it anyway. I sadly didn't go back to this video until today! This is one of the best tutorials in my opinion. GJ!
Welcome back. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers. Plus it’ll make it easier to find in another 5 years.
*!IMPORTANT!* Upon making the corners at stage #2 there is a possibility that he DOESN'T addresses. This is what if you put the corner in the correct position but it is flipped? The solution to that is this: Put the corner you want to move in the correct position (under where you want it to go) now look at the edge from angle and do [Ri - DcX2 - R - Dcc] and there you have it. Now it is in the correct position ready to be placed at the corner. A second thing he doesn't even mention is what do you do, if you are stuck at the T letter stage and all your bottom pieces have red in them - in other words you have nothing to move. In this case you will have to find one edge from the middle that doesn't have red in it, and also is out of place and use the same algorithms to place it out of there (it won't matter that you will have red in the middle for now)...
Awesome. Sorry it took 8 years. Maybe i need to devise a better tut? Glad I could finally help you. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers, if you haven’t in the past 8 years :)
I learned how to solve the rubies cube 8 years ago, my son got one and asked me to fix it. Searched and searched for this video again. The best rubies tutorial out there .
Awesome video ... solved it with your help ... first time since I started trying in the early 80s ... @VinceRocca, just one question are they your hands in the video?
This solution works, it took me numerous times to get it right. With practice and over time I can solve the cube consistently. Vince has over 17.5 million views I think the .5 million belongs to me. Thanks, Vince for helping me solve the cube.
Awesome. Thank you very much for you praise. And congrats on the solves. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
Simpler algorithm to put in edges once u have the T letter: When you send it away to the right: D L D' L' (rotate cube 90 degs to the right) D' R' D R When you send it away to the left: D' R' D R (rotate cube 90 degs to the left) D L D L'
I always wonder why 99.9% of rubik's cube beginner tutorials use the layer-by-layer method, which requires memorizing many unintuitive algorithms (eg. 5 here.) There's a simpler beginner way to solve the cube where the vast majority of moves are intuitive, and only one single part requires memorizing two algorithms (or three if you want a shortcut in a third case, but it's strictly speaking not necessary, as the same result can be done by doing the two algorithms consecutively.) This method is explained in some tutorials, but very, very rarely, and I wonder why. It starts by solving one layer except for one corner. This corner is then used as a "buffer" to hold pieces when moving them around. Then three edges of the second layer are solved (by using the "buffer" corner as an aid.) The edge above the "buffer" corner is not yet solved. Then in the last layer three edges are solved easily by using this "buffer". Then the remaining edge and the edge above the "buffer" corner are solved using two (or three if you want) algorithms. This is the only part where memorizing is necessary; even then, the algorithms are pretty simple. After this, at most 5 corners are unsolved. These are then solved using easy intuitive moves (ie. requiring basically no memorization of algorithms.) The advantage of this method is that solving individual pieces never messes up the already-solved parts, requiring fixing or memorizing algorithms to keep them fixed. This is what makes it quite easy to learn. Why this isn't more popular baffles me.
the layer by layer method is the most popular and it ain't to hard to memorize but i play piano so i can do a lot of memorizing with my hands but still. And the layer by layer is the original way to do it and doing it differently is a bit hard
This is the first time I have ever solved a Rubik's cube and I've had mine for years, usually I lose my way with instructions and find it hard to keep up or mess up and have to go back but this made so much sense and meant that I completed a Rubik's cube for the first time in my life! It might not sound like much but usually I give up so thank you!
Congrats. It does sound like an achievement because I can remember my first tim. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
This was by far the best video , I've seen on simple moves to solve it...It helped so much Thank you!!! ;) You explained it so well and made it so easy!

The instructions are generally clear, and after I realized I needed to rotate one of my corners (must have rotated while in my backpack), I was able to implement the solution. I recommend adding some notes to the steps in the comments such as indicating the bottom cross second iteration should have the horizontal line, and how to choose the new top, front, right, left sides. Still very helpful, and following the instructions carefully will give a solved cube.
Awesome to read that I played a part in your life’s journey. Just mastering the cube can alter the course of you life simply by the confidence it gives you knowing every problem can be solved. Glad I could play a pat. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.

Thank you for this video! Your tutorial was the only one i could follow. It's so simple and well explained. I was here 5 years ago and I searched for it again as I got a new cube.
The rubic's cube has broken me! I give up! It's not because of your explanation because that's great, it's just my pieces are in no way in the same spots as yours so it just doesn't help. I wish there was someone in my presence to help me but oh well! I give up!
I got the same problem. But then again you can't expect the cube to be the same as always. Got to know the core mechanics and that will probably take a looot of time and frustration.
***** Wow. I can't believe how rude you are. I would not want to be your friend in any way. Jessica, Calling you an idiot and stupid is not constructive criticism. Don't let this fool cloud your calm. Keep calm, have patience, take breaks, and seek CONSTRUCTIVE advice. EVERYONE learns at different rates and Sony obviously does not respect that fact. There are very intelligent adults who have given up on this puzzle also.
Took me three days my friend, and now after three years practise I can solve in fifteen seconds. It will take different amounts of time to learn how to solve but the important thing is you learnt. Congrats : ) maybe you will become interested in speedcubing too

+VinceRocca that's very funny, but no - changing the orientation doesn't fix what I'm talking about. It's an L shape, but its mirrored vertically.

@@VinceRocca Ok thanks!
almost makes me want to go hunting for a cube just to try this.. but then I have flashbacks of the countless hours of frustration and anger and remembering how I... along with many others, used to solve this... pop the thing apart and put it together the right way, or as a former classmate did in German class, paint his cube all black.. this was back in the early 80s..
Kazahmish do it, this video is the reason i can now do it
+FMLmfao UK Well, I just bought a cube from Walmart.. and it was already solved.. so I win.. ;-)
+Kazahmish ha i was lucky, about six years ago i got one for my birthday and have left it unsolved since but was determined after i saw my mum complete it
+Kazahmish how fast can you guys solve a rubiks cube? I can solve it in 20 seconds using cfop
+The Batchicle How fast can I solve it? depends... to this day I still haven't actually solved it from a scrambled cube, but when I bought it from Walmart it was already solved, so why mess with it? ;-) TBH I haven't really had any time to mess with it, but I am confident I will someday be able to solve it within a week... ;-)
This is the first tutorial that actually helped I finally completed a rubix cube
+Kyle Sylvester *Rubik's*
+Kyle Sylvester Your life is complete now bro
Hello cousin,the fake me
rubiks* not rubix
M. Jacoub :DD
I solved it for like like half an hour. Concidering I had no clue how to do that before I watched this video... It is really helpful!
LIER!!!!! you cannot solve it in half an hour if you don't have the correct algorithm,
but if you do, its gonna take you like few mins only.
Took me half and an hour with the algorithms in the video - thats what I ment
OOPS!! MY BAD!!! SORRY MAN
No problem :)

I remember learning from this tutorial when I was 11 years old some 7 or so years ago. I now regularly go to competitions and average 11 seconds. This hobby is a big part of my life and all because of you. You earned my subscribe.
This is the one and only proper video that teaches how to really solve the cube. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

that video about 20 moves is fake, just accept it eyy this guy did an awesome job
+kings17court And I very much appreciate that gesture. Awesome about the 8yo. He'll be speed cubeing in no time.
Out of about 30 videos only one that's actually helped me solve it

I've watched every video on the cube. This is the only one that worked. Just common sense, slow pace, well documented. No focus on speedsolving, not turning the cube, etc. Best beginner video. I'm not going for speed, I want the damn thing solved and you did it. Kudos!

i have searched about 5 hours for a tutorial on how to solve this cube and just as i was about to quit i saw this one and it worked after 2 tries doing it so thank you so much your way of doing it is the best but how did you manage to memorize all the moves
The first time i learned how to solve it, i just wrote the algorithms on a paper and memorized them
+Aly Tawfik Also, once you do it on the cube a bunch of times, it eventually becomes muscle memory like for me! I don't even have to think the algorithms anymore!
hi erica the last two are the longest of you have trouble break them in half o you learn 4 smaller ones. repeat over and over into your muscle memory
+Erica Arruda I learned how to solve one as a child, without any help. And I don't recall the names of the moves that he used, I only know how to do it using muscle memory..
+paul bolwell They're opposites so once you learn the first half just flip it over and you have the 2nd half
6 years ago i learned how to solve it by watching this video..and i still use this method
Thank you so much sir...❤

the red cross does not work
for the first step with the corners, I advise beginners to make a random cross at the bottom and then match it and do a 180-degree rotation.

*!IMPORTANT!*
Upon making the corners at stage #2 there is a possibility that he DOESN'T addresses. This is what if you put the corner in the correct position but it is flipped? The solution to that is this:
Put the corner you want to move in the correct position (under where you want it to go) now look at the edge from angle and do [Ri - DcX2 - R - Dcc] and there you have it.
Easy and clearly explained.
Best video for Rubik solution. No bullshit. No waiting. Dives straight right into the point.

Simpler algorithm to put in edges once u have the T letter:
When you send it away to the right:
D L D' L' (rotate cube 90 degs to the right) D' R' D R
When you send it away to the left:
D' R' D R (rotate cube 90 degs to the left) D L D L'
Whenever I do it I always get the wrong orientation at the end how do I fix this?
+EndlessSky Take the stickers off and put them where they belong :)
+PixelToast This isn't simpler; they both require 8 moves.
Supamario Xx buy stickers and put them over the plastic tiles :) HA!
+PixelToast i turn the cube upside down and do U' L' U' L U F U F' / U R U R' U' F' U' F
I always wonder why 99.9% of rubik's cube beginner tutorials use the layer-by-layer method, which requires memorizing many unintuitive algorithms (eg. 5 here.)
There's a simpler beginner way to solve the cube where the vast majority of moves are intuitive, and only one single part requires memorizing two algorithms (or three if you want a shortcut in a third case, but it's strictly speaking not necessary, as the same result can be done by doing the two algorithms consecutively.) This method is explained in some tutorials, but very, very rarely, and I wonder why.
These are then solved using easy intuitive moves (ie. requiring basically no memorization of algorithms.)
The advantage of this method is that solving individual pieces never messes up the already-solved parts, requiring fixing or memorizing algorithms to keep them fixed. This is what makes it quite easy to learn. Why this isn't more popular baffles me.
can you give more simple rubik cube video link!!
why didnt you just say the name of the method??
Because I don't know the name (if it even has one.)
the layer by layer method is the most popular and it ain't to hard to memorize but i play piano so i can do a lot of memorizing with my hands but still. And the layer by layer is the original way to do it and doing it differently is a bit hard
The way you describe is the same method I use! It's very very easy, just three algorithms by heart!

Thank you for this video! Your tutorial was the only one i could follow. It's so simple and well explained. I was here 5 years ago and I searched for it again as I got a new cube.
Awesome. Subscribe so you can find it again in 5 years.

Thanks a lot man, I finally solved my Rubik's Cube by watching this video. You helped me a lot. Thank You.
siegpasta Then which one do u think is the right way to learn it?
The rubic's cube has broken me! I give up! It's not because of your explanation because that's great, it's just my pieces are in no way in the same spots as yours so it just doesn't help. I wish there was someone in my presence to help me but oh well! I give up!
Break it up put it together right then twist it and start again
And you a bitch
actualyy shes right. she just asked normally and you offend her without any reason :^)
I always come back to this video when I forget the algs or lose my notes for them, its just so perfect!
Omg this is the best tutorial ever when I find a tutorial the one that’s making the tutorial is going so fast

Took me three days my friend, and now after three years practise I can solve in fifteen seconds. It will take different amounts of time to learn how to solve but the important thing is you learnt. Congrats : ) maybe you will become interested in speedcubing too
