Great job on the video. Editing is superb, music is nice. Whoever did put this together needs a raise.
This is a great video! The only thing is it showed people standing up in a topless Jeep and we got pulled for that and told it was illegal and they could’ve wrote us a ticket but spared us! We’ve been going for over 35 years, and never realized this! Lol
Just got back and watching this because I miss it already. Great video. Thanks.
People keep asking about 4wd vs awd. 4wd vehicles usually have at least the rear differential to where it can lock up. Awd vehicles MOSTLY don't have any sort of locking differentials, so that is why awd isn't neccessary recommended. 4wd/awd is power distribution front to back, but your differentials distribute power side to side per axle.
4wd you can select 2wd or 4wd. Awd means it's always sending power to all wheels. A lot of 4wds have open differentials.
Thanks for the tips!
I'll be there starting this Sat. Can't wait.
Doing this for the first time in a few days, thanks for the helpful and reassuring video!
This video was very helpful, thank you ..
So wish I were there!🌅
I feel the same way, it's been 3 years
Can you update with information about where to air back up? First timers or folks not from the Northern beaches may not know this.
@martelvonc most people that make these trips carry a portable air compressor so they can air up wherever/whenever. I'd imagine the lines & wait times would get pretty crazy around public accessible air stations😅.
There is nothing more fun than driving on Carova beach
I run my truck out to point on 13psi... Have had the rear tires down to 10psi ... Zero issues. 10ply are stiffer sidewall tires and require more air reduced to get bulge. Air pressure is night and day difference
The 18 to 20 psi is more for all season stock 4ply tires.... More aggressive tread more plys... Work better in the sand lower psi and will not come off rim at 10psi driving beach sensible
Willie!
Do the vehicles have access to the entire beach or do they have to stay up high? I don't feel like laying in the sand with a F150 running 2" behind my head.
Can I take a six-wheeler Polaris at the point at Buxton to go fishing I'm not able to drag a wagon all the way out to the point but I have a six-wheel Polaris can I use it at the point
Watch Nagshead peaceful paradise.
That is at Buxton North Carolina I fished there before but we had a four-wheel drive to go out there I'm not able to pull a wagon that far but I wanted to go out there in a couple weeks that's when we had a lot of good luck from Kitty Hawk all the way down two bucks a lot of trout and a lot of drum I love them both to eat and I thought about coming if I can bring my six wheeler and be able to take it out there
Our video is actually shot in the 4x4 beaches north of Corolla. We love Buxton too, so you should check out Corolla/4x4 one of these times!
Is there a place to put air back in your tires when you go to leave, or do I need to bring an air compressor/ air tank?
We have an air station available for our guests, located at our Corolla office. Additionally, Currituck County also maintains a free air station located at Currituck Heritage Park.
How far is it safe to drive before airing back up ?@@twiddyobx
I have a 2002 volvo v70 xc, it is awd but doesn't really have a high ride height to it. Hoping that is suitable enough.
We also have an AWD only. Trying to find out if it will be suitable. Any updates for you guys?
AWD is not the same as 4x4.
And don’t forget to pump the tires back up after leaving. Common mistake
Where at?
Where do you air back up ?
@@melodiewood1315 i suggest picking up a portable air tank at any auto store like AutoZone or Ace Hardware before going in sand
