I've been walking daily at the beach for the past 20 years and I've never been robbed and I've never seen anyone getting robbed.

The price is definitely right! I was spending 70 USD a day (at least) on food in Cancun but Rio looks a lot better and a lot cheaper. I'm going to try to learn a few phrases in portuguese before I go though.
Yes cancun and tulum prices are alot more for basically everything

Unfortunately Brazil is a very stratified country!.........but dam! The beach and the culture is fantastic!
I've actually seen alot of afro Brazilians in there. One night the guys was outside the wall playing music and everyone inside was jamming singing the songs. Now one place I haven't seen too much of any Brazilians is this steak house im going to post video on. Usually all I see is tourist in there. Its only around $35 usd right now but last year when I went it was at around $50
