This system is going to be great for your dairy business. You’ve made some major improvements to your farm in the last few years. Next project, build a proper office. The cows have it better than you now.

It is amazing all the data you get from the collars!!! The ladies have been very well cared for but the collars means you will be able to catch some things quicker before it has a negative affect on the cows! Unbelievable! An amazing system!
I don’t know if you are behind with the video or up to date. Have the ladies been in the parlour yet? If not, did you like my idea of playing the music “Ride of The Valkyries” as the ladies enter?
Farming has to be one of the hardest jobs to do! You are busy from sun up to sun down. Quite often they don’t even take vacations like other people do, depending on their backup help! It is not an easy life because it involves not just the farmer but the farmer’s family, whether they want to do it or not. Lol. The most important point is that almost everybody relies on the farms to feed themselves and their families. Where would we be without the farms and farmers and people that help or work for them and the industry? I believe the rest of us would be screwed!

Man, your operation has just exploded in the last few years, hasn’t it? You used to have a simple dairy farm, with a few beef cattle thrown in. Now you’re an upgraded, techno superior farm extravaganza. (You’ve advanced to the point that I don’t think I understood a thing you were on about in the last 5 minutes of the video. Tom I thought your comment about the software wasn’t fair and I hope Uniform are given the opportunity to defend their price on your channel. They employ over 80 people, according to their website, and I am sure once you understand how much effort software, which runs on windows, takes to maintain then you may not be so quick to criticise.

One cat learned how to undo his collar & then helped every other cat take off their collar. I put them back on the cat that did the same thing lol

I hadn’t realised how much the collars would monitor, I thought they would mainly be for how much ration each cow got and her yield, monitoring health and bulling is so interesting. I would never be able to move away from the computer checking up on everything and looking at the stats. Fascinating.

Piece of advice... While that appears to be all online, that office will be bad for the computer over time. Plan for when the computer crashes. Make sure you have everything backed up. You should do a continuation of operation plan. Think about what could go wrong and list out all the items and list who you would call to fix them or what you would do to work around the situation. Growing up on a dairy farm we just fixed things as they came up. But having a plan helps get you through hard days faster and allows you to split the work.

In the 3.5 years your farm is now a model, we are in the west of ireland, my brother is farming dry stock, your farm is class. Insurance could be too much but active farm walks could be something to look into, not a pet farm but a farm walk where farmers and “townies” could explore a fully active farm

So great to see the improvements happening! Have these improvements been made possible in large by the income received from doing the UA-cam videos. If Tom had not put so much time and energy into sharing his life with us, would he have struggled to make the improvements that he has made so far? Is this because a lot of the farming profits are sucked up by the large Dairy companies and the poor farmer has been left to struggle and the usual farming situation is where it is next to impossible to keep farms modern and up to date?

You were serious about the numbers👌 In the beginning we only attached the bottom number and the rest loose. But quickly realized that you could see the numbers just as well if they were all loose on the necklace.

Love seeing bringing in technology on the farm. Any efficiency increase is a good thing.

I wondered if there was something up with 216 when I saw she could barely get out of the crush! This is a gamechanger (once you get your head around it) but you're fortunate to have Luke on hand to help you get to grips with the technology.

Really loved the data being captured by your new system. Very informative and allows you to maintain your cows better, and increases your reaction time to better service your cows when needed. Well done!!

14:35 Ron Perlman is an American actor.
Ron had a collection of 30,000 Songs which he had stored Online.
Then one day the entire collection disappeared.
    Long story short.
Apple are forcing Ron to pay $9.90 a month for an App so that he can access Music he already Owns.
As Ron says “it’s not the $9.90 that bothers him because he lights Cigars using $10 Notes, but rather the principal of the thing”.
If a Corporation can screw you for money, be absolutely certain that they will.
