No 2 people are alike.The way I see it is that everyone is a success for being fearless enought to post on youtube in this day & age where everyone just spouts off whatever is on their mind the things they would never say to someone in person. I have years of sewing experience & come from a long line of creative family members. There's always someone more & someone less skilled. But, Tracy there is no one that can match your unique creativity, which is inborn. Tracy you are an Artist & my favorite refashion designer. Your pieces are magnificent. No wonder you were able to sell for years. I see younger youtubers mentioning you & trying to mimic your style. You are appreciated & admired by many & myself. Ty again for posting.

Hi, I LOVE the idea of re-using neckties. I bought literally hundreds, gonna do "something" with them. I ended up making rugs with most of them. The silk ones I have put into my storage suitcases. The polyester ones are the ones I used. If they get dirty I just spray them with spray cleaner, hose them down to rinse and hang on the fence to dry. ✌🏻♥️

Love this jacket! One of my friend's husband passed away, and she asked me to make something for her from them. It took me a while to come up with a plan, but I ended up using them to make a Christmas Tree skirt! I didn't take pictures of it, but it turned out gorgeous! So happy to see new ideas for ties. I have all my Daddy's and my husband's old ties.

The ONLY problem with good recycling and repurposing is the prep work. If you do your pre work well the rest falls into place. Traci has a gift for colour and colour placement which looks innate and effortless- I take care to stop and examine her colour choices. Traci you continue to be innovative and experimental- anyone who criticizes can follow the quote “ if you can’t think of something nice to say, don’t say anything at all” and that’s the nicest thing I can say about THEM! I LOVE each and every video and often watch them again to refresh my memory for certain little bits. They are a treasure trove for me.❤❤❤

I wonder if turning a tie upside down and sewing...say every 6th or 7th one, and making it very narrow toward the bottom edge, would help eliminate the need to cut off the front edges... I may try sewing some this way, say into multiple panels before making all into one piece to check... As always Traci, WONDERFUL tutorial!!!❤❤❤

I think we are kindred spirits. I've been upcycling clothes on and off since I was a teen in the 80s. I am an artist and creative and naturally it trickles to my clothes. I got fashion statement of the year and class individualist. So I love every single thing you do because I see the artistry in it. I am stealing 2 things from you. I had just picked up a bunch of neck ties to make a skirt to sell but now that I see this. I think I am doing a jacket for myself. They are all red black and gray ties and that's my jam. The other thing I am stealing is that saying about whiskey at the end and it's getting painted on a jacket! Thanks for the inspiration!! Love your work.

It blew my mind to see your title and what you were making. I had this same idea about 4 yrs ago. I had a big bag of men's ties given to me. I had a cropped denim jacket that I never wore. I married the ties to the jacket. I had quite a few problems with them going wonky on me as well. I didn't haVe a sewing machine. I hand sewed the ties together and hot glued it to the jacket. I love my jacket but the down side is it is heavy! Like really heavy..but a work of art. Being as I live in Florida I haven't even had a chance to wear it yet. @@tmyershandmade978 I wish I could share a picture of it. I don't think they have a feature for that here or I'm just not talented in the internet world to know how to do that. I also had alot of ties left over so I made what I call my tie belt. I attached ties to a waistband from a pair of jeans. I only attached them at the top not sewing the sides together. I can wear a skirt, shorts, or anything under it and it looks like a skirt. All the ties are different lengths and gives it alot of movement when worn. It's very artsy looking. I kinda got the idea from watching your video when you made the belt out of lace and things. I work with what I have like you do. I don't have many lace or doily but have been collecting lace curtains when I find them cheap for like 25 cents. Waiting to see what I can make with them.

It is always amazing to me that people feel the need to leave negative feedback. If they don’t like something or the aesthetic doesn’t appeal to them, don’t watch, no one is forcing them to. I think there must be something lacking in the ‘Negative Nellies’ that they are compelled to be hurtful!
I was so excited to watch this tutorial. I LOVE men’s neck ties. I made myself a skirt solely from men’s ties, and it’s one of my all time favorite skirts. Love this jacket! One of my friend's husband passed away, and she asked me to make something for her from them. It took me a while to come up with a plan, but I ended up using them to make a Christmas Tree skirt! I didn't take pictures of it, but it turned out gorgeous! So happy to see new ideas for ties. I have all my Daddy's and my husband's old ties.

The ONLY problem with good recycling and repurposing is the prep work. If you do your pre work well the rest falls into place. Traci has a gift for colour and colour placement which looks innate and effortless- I take care to stop and examine her colour choices.

I wonder if turning a tie upside down and sewing...say every 6th or 7th one, and making it very narrow toward the bottom edge, would help eliminate the need to cut off the front edges... I may try sewing some this way, say into multiple panels before making all into one piece to check...

I think we are kindred spirits. I've been upcycling clothes on and off since I was a teen in the 80s. I am an artist and creative and naturally it trickles to my clothes. I got fashion statement of the year and class individualist. So I love every single thing you do because I see the artistry in it. I am stealing 2 things from you. I had just picked up a bunch of neck ties to make a skirt to sell but now that I see this. I think I am doing a jacket for myself. They are all red black and gray ties and that's my jam. The other thing I am stealing is that saying about whiskey at the end and it's getting painted on a jacket! Thanks for the inspiration!! Love your work.

I also love the idea of recycling neckties, but i prefer that it's not obvious that it's made from ties. I love silk fabric and the patterns of the ties. I have a big collection of them. ❤

It blew my mind to see your title and what you were making. I had this same idea about 4 yrs ago. I had a big bag of men's ties given to me. I had a cropped denim jacket that I never wore. I married the ties to the jacket. I had quite a few problems with them going wonky on me as well. I didn't haVe a sewing machine. I hand sewed the ties together and hot glued it to the jacket. I love my jacket but the down side is it is heavy! Like really heavy..but a work of art. Being as I live in Florida I haven't even had a chance to wear it yet. @@tmyershandmade978 I wish I could share a picture of it. I don't think they have a feature for that here or I'm just not talented in the internet world to know how to do that. I also had alot of ties left over so I made what I call my tie belt. I attached ties to a waistband from a pair of jeans. I only attached them at the top not sewing the sides together. I can wear a skirt, shorts, or anything under it and it looks like a skirt. All the ties are different lengths and gives it alot of movement when worn. It's very artsy looking. I kinda got the idea from watching your video when you made the belt out of lace and things. I work with what I have like you do. I don't have many lace or doily but have been collecting lace curtains when I find them cheap for like 25 cents. Waiting to see what I can make with them.

It is always amazing to me that people feel the need to leave negative feedback. If they don’t like something or the aesthetic doesn’t appeal to them, don’t watch, no one is forcing them to. I think there must be something lacking in the ‘Negative Nellies’ that they are compelled to be hurtful!
