I made a pair of my own waxed cotton pants, based off of your original video. I used bison hide for my knee patches. I have found them to be extraordinary bush pants! I made a tin coat as well. I learn much from you! Thanks for the great video. 😊
Many talents and very handy to be able to use them. Most wouldn't take the time or go to the trouble to repair but simply buy new. Nice to see someone actually intent on using a product beyond it's normal life span. Good job sir, enjoy for a few more years in the great outdoors.
I will never own trousers like this, I will never need to do this process, but your content is interesting and relaxing and I love it. Thank you so much for the content you provide
I like how you hand stitch everything. I do that as well. Everyone is in such a rush to use machines, I think quality is sacrificed. I actually like to sew.
It's always a good day when Kusk pushes out a new video... Thanks for sharing your skills, this is exactly how I patch holes in my jeans. It's good to know I'm on the right track... Your pants have some real character. I'll bet there's not another pair like 'em anywhere. Peace to you my friend, ~Tim, Alaska
Yes! That's the same way I was taught by my mom 60 years ago! Except we didn't have dental floss around then! I discovered using floss 15 years ago and that was a game changer!
Your hand stitching is really good. I started to use old braided line that I remove from my fishing reels ( 30lb) to repair tears on my camping gear/ clothes, that stuff is pretty tough, most fisherman just throw it away.
Made my own pair out of German heavy brush mil. pants from your original video. They work great in the outlands of western NY. Thanks live well live free Geist Wulf
You are definitely hard on a set of britches. I like the tin pants concept. Made my first set this last year not exactly pants but I used bibs. Nothing like having a good set of brush Busters
Very nice tutorial. I was just wondering about this while watching your latest outing. Nothing cooler looking than stitched patches. Many would discard them a buy new pants with no soul.
No sense in tossing something that can be fixed. I'll continue wearing these pants til the material falls apart haha. Thanks for watching! Happy trails.
Using dental floss is genius, cotton thread is so fragile in comparison, especially the cheap stuff. What do you think of canvas clothing? It's expensive is the only thing.

Glad to hear! Hopefully the pants and coat will last you many years. Thanks for watching!
I sometimes loop back to previous stich to knot each one.

Somehow you make even repairing pants relaxing and entertaining haha. Always a fan of your content ❤
Thank you for another practical video! This information is always useful.
I watched my mom use a needle and thread and hit has come in handy throughout my life. Especially camping

Upholstery thread works good too!!!
That’s some good work.
Nice work Ryley!
Thanks!
Crusty squatters in the 90s used to do patchwork with dental floss. ; ) I still use it.

Very useful video thank you
I like the idea if using leather to strengthen the knee area of your waxed trousers.
What a nice video my friend, great job Stay Safe Always 🦍🦍🦍
Really enjoy your channel, off topic question..what brand of pipe do you smoke and tobacco?..it's a dying art.
Thanks for tuning in. I have a lot of different pipes and tobaccos that I smoke. Hard to beat a nice virginia flake in a cob pipe!
@KuskBushcraft Nice!..I'm a Burley or Dunhill 965 in a Peterson meerschaum or briar sorta guy..
Do you have a video on how to wax cotton or canvas.
After a while it's just time to call er a day n start a new pair

Speed sew
I will tell ya from experience, don't wax your own pants while wearing them. And don't drink.
Always enjoy my Stitching projects. Thanks for the share
