I was a student from 1987-91. The best games i have seen was:
1990: UH vs. Texas. The loudest DKR has ever been
1996: Inaugural Big 12 championship vs. Nebraska
I recently watched 1969 Arkansas/ Texas game and that was another great one.
Everyone thinks Longhorn football started in 2005 but there were many great teams before that.......
that 05 championship game is still the greatest college football game I have ever seen!
"I never saw luck go jump on a guy in the shade." Another great Darrell Royal saying.
OU FAN here i loved when you beat USC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
UCLA FAN and I was ecstacic with the Rose Bowl win over USC. Vince Young is THE MAN!
Awesome!
Texas had that national championship in their hands in 1983. If that punt wasn't muffed in the Cotton Bowl and Texas beats Georgia, Nebraska would have lost to Miami that night in the Orange Bowl making Texas the national champions.
Wish they had the playoffs back in 1983 the matchup of the great Nebraska offense versus the great Texas Defense would have been awesome
Hook'em legend upon legend in this video. thank you for this video
HOOK 'EM!
Hook em horns
Thank you.
RIP Darryl Royal!
42:35 Jerry Gray chasing Bo Jackson down and separating his shoulder.
Bo Jackson played for Auborn
@@BK-uh1je I know, I was there.
@@floridapmi I was there too; I thought Jerry Gray separated Bo's sternum
For the last 10 years it's been "We're back baby"

Earl your the MAN!
VINCE did well, but Earl you reign!
Hook'em Horns!
Correct me if I am wrong, wasn't cowboys coach Tom landry a teammate of Bobby layne
I've never understood why my Horns claim the '70 title given how that season ended. Anyways it's long overdue for them to be a good competitive team again. Hook 'em
Joshua Hansen before 1974, the Coaches poll (which Texas was named co-national champions with Ohio State in 1970) was voted on before the bowl games. So the bowl game had no impact on that poll. As far as claiming the national title even though we lost the bowl game, plenty of teams before Texas were still named national champions even if they lost their bowl game. Perfect example is the 1964 Alabama Crimson Tide team that won the national title even though they lost the Orange bowl to Texas.
@@codyward4200 Guess I've looked at that year as Nebraska being the true champions given who they beat and that Texas lost
HOOKEM HORNS 🤘🏼
Notice how it stops at 2005. That's because they have nothing since. College football is better when schools like texas are playing well. Hopefully they get back on track soon.
Because it was made after that season dumb ass
@@MidnightToker512 My bad. I missed that. But I commend you on the name calling. Way to keep it classy.
And look where we are now 😎😏🔥💰

Hook EM! 🤘🏻
How come they left out when OU played Texas? Oklahoma’s OU is Texas biggest rivalry
Hook em Horns!
One question for Longhorn fans: If the Longhorns are such a storied program, why is their home field named after an OU quarterback?(Darryl Royal) just a friendly dig.
Why is the ALL time record 75-30
Y do y'all get all your players from here.? Cause Oklahoma high school football is a joke!
We did have a couple of good players from Oklahoma, 3 won the Heisman, 2 rbs went to Arkansas & were both #1 draft choices. Honestly I love the state of Texas. Was raised in OK, but left a long time ago. If you ask the OLD OU fans, who's the greatest QB OU ever had, you don't hear White, or any recent Heisman winners, to a person, without hesitation, they say Darrell Royal. I didn't really follow OU till 1968, but since then, big fan, I root for all Big 12 teams in Bowl games. Love the OU Texas game, I know how good the Sooners are, by that game. Blessings! I enjoyed your comment. Seriously!
@@bluesingmusic3443 Every single Heisman trophy winner for OU? WAS FROM TX EXCEPT SAM BRADFORD AND EVEN THAT WAS BULLSHIT CAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS MCCOY WAS BETTER STATISTICS WISE AND HEAD TO HEAD WE WON BY 10. THEN YALL GET BEAT BY WEAK ASS FLORIDA FOR 🏆😲😑 MEANWHILE WE BEAT LOADED OSU IN FIESTA..
SO FUCK OFF HILLBILLY
He was our coach
alls texas people ever talk about is 2006 thats it
I know we talk every year about my sooners how we've won the big 12 in getting to the 4.
Nope, 63, 69, Earl Campbell, Darryl Royal)
