What would the process be to create an alpha node in conjunction with a skin tone node?
is it possible to invert the selection of a magic mask? example: select a walking person, invert selection, delete everything that isn't them walking.
Doing this by drawing and following frame by frame takes forever. and tracking doesn't seem to work well enough
Hi, Is there a max len of a clip for a magic mask? I've not got it to complete. Even a simple head and shoulder clip. Select the person. She is seated and only occasionally moves a hand or her head a little. Normal for someone talking. Mask is a single stroke. It processes 5mins of clip then stops. No error, nothing. Ive pressed play fwd again. pause fwd. Nothing.
This is just one example. There are others. Do you have any ideas ?

How can I select more than just a person with Magic Mask? For example, I have a person on a horse, I need to select the person on the horse alltogether and not just the person. When I make the selection, not everything I want selected is selected. How can I fix this? I have a foreground scene I need to select it all together from the background.
Suggest a second node with its own qualifier and MM for the second person then a 3rd if a third person.
Magic Mask uses CUDA in Nvidia graphics card. To speed it up use newer Graphics card with more VRAM.
Thank you Dennis. Any tutorial I've seen says this. With a non high end computer, I think you spend less time making a frame by frame mask.
Awesome feature. It's just too bad that they make it really tough and awkward (at best) to purchase the Studio version. They are extremely weird about it, especially since it's $300 or less. I wonder why. Weirdos.

If only Magic Mask wasn't so painfully slow comparing to any other Resolve tool...
I finally had a chance to get down and dirty with Magic Mask. It's ahead of its time and computers just aren't powerful enough to make using it practical for anything other than a clip that's only a few seconds long. Have a documentary subject talking for an hour? Either render his entire uncut interview like this or go through each time he/she appears after editing and track it all again and again. It's horrible. Maybe in 10 years we'll be ready for this.
My phone does the same in realtime when blurring the background on portrait photos :)
I think it's just lousy coded and not optimized yet. For now, it's more like a proof of concept rather than an actual tool that you can use every day. On the other hand, it's faster than manual roto :)

Great tool, unfortunately you cannot copy paste it to the same clip cut in elsewhere
