How to Make an XPS Foam Surfboard #13 - Hot-Coating the Bottom

In the previous video I hot-coated the deck of the surfboard. In this video I show you how to hot coat the bottom of the surfboard with epoxy.
The foam used is from Home Depot, the pink XPS construction foam.

Hi Andrew, thanks very much for these videos. I'm making a foam & fibreglass outrigger float for a sailing canoe, and your tips are really useful. Especially the tape dam, it saves lots of work! Also I got some resin research epoxy. Its crystal clear and sands well too, without clogging the paper (unlike some other brands).

can you add color in your epoxy instead of painting later

You can but you'll see all of the imperfections in the board. Plus whatever color he used would have a purple tint because of the foam.
