You can put a Grin ALL AXEL motor that is thru Axel. They are coming out with a high power Fat ALL AXEL very shortly . I pre ordered 3 originally designed for pushing 32 - 36 foot sailboats replacing a 12 hp diesel motor. With Statorade.
Very cool! Great to see an update on the Psycho Cycle! 20:30 the wobble is from flat out , in the vee speedster style tires, i had that problem with flatout in those styles tires too. I got arisun big smoothy tires and i don’t have that problem even with flat out. And knobby tires i don’t usually have the flat out wobbly problem. So it might just be those tires!!
After I made the video I realized that yeah it's probably the flatout, I actually sometimes get wobble in rear tires of other bikes when adding flatout and running the wheel full speed no load. Maybe I'll fix it, it's a work in progress for sure! Thanks for the comment man.
Nice work on the video and building that BEAST of an ebike. I have a Five Star and would like to know if your Five Star feels any less powerful after overheating it in that last video you made. Thanks
Just to let you know, if you are running both controllers sharing the battery, you can share the same signal wire outputs from the throttle, and the p.a.s.. I have made 2 so far dual direct drive ebikes, one is on my y/t page that i made from used parts. twin 40A controllers on 48v sys , 1000w rear,1500w front. the controllers are the kt series and are rated for 48-72v 40A, with shunt mods.
Great video as always thanks for the shout out I think you should definitely build the five star I a going to put the kit on my new step through and I plan on using the 60v battery in the back for the front motor we can compare times
Still haven't decided if I'll go through with it but maybe! Just need to research of so much weight on the swing arms will make the suspension not function well you know?
@maximumchargeEV Oh good thinking, man. I just don't even know where to start with planning and the safety considerations of the whole project. And like you mentioned in the video, I don't know how I feel about having all of that weight on the back.
It might be the flatout in the tire thats causing the wobble. I put a stabilizer bar on the front of my bike and its like night and day. Get one for that bike!
Very nice, tastefully done. Ps, you can get a 21700 20ah pack from ali for like $240. Wow, looks like two indentations both lower sides on battery from shock smack on that 17" frame. Bummer
Those are from a company called smlro they make dual motor forks. They could more easily accommodate the larger axle of the 1000 watt motor vs the rst guide fork which is only good for 750 watt 10mm axles
Front throttle gives more control and is way safer than running both motors on one throttle, and I like being able to adjust from motor power levels If needed so I wsnt that display there you know?
… anyway. My 250w motor ebike I’m currently reviewing. I’ll shut up now. 😂 Nothing gave me more pleasure than building my dual motor Engwe M20 it’s such a shame I hated the bike. 🤦🏻♂️
I have a question. I'm trying to get stuff for my first build and I don't know if things are getting lost in translation, If I have two batteries in parallel both with a 50 amp BMS does that meen I can draw 100 amps or is it still just 50?
@@maximumchargeEV Thanks, the Co. I was trying to get parts from said I needed to stay with a 45 amp controller when I said I wanted to run around 60 on a 80-100amp.
i connected both batteries to a battery balancer/blender (generic from aliexpress but rated for 100amps) and the output has a Y splitter that goes to each controller.
@@maximumchargeEV all I know is my buddy used thrir 2K direct drive Motors front and rear on his 26-inch bike. I believe he's running 2K to the front wheel and 4K to the rear wheel at 72v. That's about as much as you can put To The Ground somewhat safely.
@maximumchargeEV Not sure yet, I was thinking of going with Powerful Lithium for a custom battery, but now that you mention Northeast Battery Systems, I'll have to check them out. I'm also in New England, so I'll be watching your videos for build and parts ideas, lol.
Nice work. You know I have your 5k motor sitting here if you need it. As long as you can fit 100mm rim in that frame and it looks like you can it's not a lot wider. But it's brand new in the box grab it before I send it back. I think that bike will rock with it.
I'll think about it! Still in the "should I do this" part of the build. Idk how well the suspension will function with the weight of the battery on the rear rack you know?
@@maximumchargeEVthose step throughs cannot withstand the torque and weight of putting any high power motor into it. Before you do a faceplant get another frame. Maybe you can get someone to Tig a crossbar over top of the battery.
You realize they make a rear rack that holds a battery under the rack? You did a decent job at camouflaging everything but the triangle batteries almost always look ugly. If it's the fastest thing on the block who cares what it looks like. 😎
This video gives me an awesome idea. I bought the minimum necessary (while being careful to buy the style that can be upgraded/modified) because of money constraints. In the future, I may add the same front wheel setup!
