I raged quit so many times playing Hot Pursuit 2 and underground because of the rubberbanding idk what Blackbox was thinking of implementing A.I rubberbanding its bad when you're driving a McLaren F1 and a CLK GTR says hi and rubberbands past you.
this is easily the most extreme case of NFS rubber banding i've seen, absolutely insane

@@clc3106 If you are slow it will slow down the AI, if you are fast, it will speed up the AI. In order to not make the differences too big or the game too little or too much challenging.
Imagine pulling on a rubber band. You are at one end end the AI drivers on the other end.
I thoughts the need for speed hot pursuit (not the 2012 or the remastered 2020 one although those 2 game has rubberbanding ai anyway) had more extreme rubberbanding. Saw a video where all cars literly fly.
But this yellow golf lol owned so hard it got automatically reset on the floor.
PS2 undercover is more extreme than this when you play the highway battle

It happened to me in Underground 2, not joking.
I was racing in stage 2, finishing the URL with the corolla, and in the last lap, a car passed me flying, literally flying, in the SKY, and finished the race in the air, and I had to restart it all over again.
I noticed that in Hard difficulty the AI starts to goes batshit crazy, it flies, it spins in the air, it TELEPORTS in front of you, damn...
Ive had cars fly in the URL races before which really made me hate them

yeah can confirm, you see them having insane steering even with suvs. and nfsu2 urls were the perfect example in hard mode.

@@Szszymon14 Race 95 was Kurt's Killer Ride and Race 103 was Enduro Street Circuit and in my opinion the two most difficult and annoying races I've ever played in a racing game
These are just pain. You start to think that easy difficulty might be the hardest during gameplay because they all look the same. They all beat you even if you drive flawlessly.
Dont forget about race 84, peugeot and the nissan made me want to die

We need a AI Pov mod or something similar. Pretty much at the end of the campaign in some of those "eddies pose" races is this eclipse going nuts out of a long corner. Insane!
AI Rubberbanding has a real History in NFS Games. But there was a Case where i put that into use. In NFS Carbon i ordered Neville to Crash the Car behind me when i knew he would fail and Crash, and when he Rubberbanded back to me he smashed with sometimes 430kmh into the speed cameras, even with the RX8. (and if you played that you know this thing is slow af) The Speed of the Cameras were Added at the End of the Race and Boy, did Neville Smash the Competitors.
And don't get me started on sal. All I needed to do was take out my lotus in tier 1, tell him to go scout, and win any speed camera race

Reminds me of the rubberband Ai in NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 and the remaster, ESPECIALLY with the cops. Manage to get more than 2 seconds ahead or spin the ai out? they'll literally snap back on the road and start catching up.
It's a Criterion game. Theirs have a lot of catch up but then again, the action is so fast paced, it's easy to overtake them again.
I find it funny that despite rubberbanding being this bad in a beta version, they still had it overtuned on release.
When I was playing races in GTA 5 single player, the rubberbanding was almost the same, as soon as I touched the checkpoint all other cars got teleported to me immediately

Nfs underground has aggressively rubberband since I was a kid I get tantrum so I figured it out I use miata has the best handling ever
This is why I stopped playing NFS back in the day. It was 100% BS and so very obvious they did this to compensate for a shit AI. Being good in this game didn't mean shit to the AI. Never picked this back up. Also no idea why the algorithm put it in my feed, blessed be the almighty algorithm .
That's understandable. I remember when I was a kid I was stuck on a 6 lap race on the terminal track for a whole week and ended up throwing my controller at the wall. Also yeah it seams the algorithm really likes this video for some reason lol
I know, right? I gave up on a LOT of games because of this.
Yet I managed to beat the whole game on hard difficulty. On keyboard. Even drag racing, and that Terminal 6-lap race. Am I a god in this game or/and god of patience?
@@Szszymon14 I finished this game a lot of times using keyboard, manual transmission, stability control off and in hard difficulty. When you play it a lot, the AI can even be a litte fun sometimes, it gives you a real challenge. But in the most of cases, they're annoying as hell, specially that Jarru's guy and his broken ass S2000.

In nfsu 2 it would regularly work in a way that the AI had an average speed higher than the top speed. Like average speed of 230 and top speed of 220. In races without rubberband such as street x, i would often win by 20-30 seconds on hard difficulty.
