It's such a shame BBV Productions never got the recognition they deserved. The best place to find any of their products is on the Galaxy 4 website. Bill Baggs is currently working on another P.R.O.B.E film in memory of Caroline John who played Liz Shaw at the beginning of Jon Pertwee's Third Doctor era and again in the P.R.O.B.E films. She unfortunately passed away back in 2012 from cancer.
The poll itself is utter bollocks but this video is very entertaining. Matt's reaction to Time Meddler bashing is hilarious!
My problem is that I tend to enjoy stories that most people don't. I really like The Krotons and The Time Monster and even Meglos. For a long time, my favourite story was Arc of Infinity which changed to The Mutants when I bought the DVD. The Day of the Doctor does not deserve to be first. I enjoyed it, I didn't love it. The Caves of Androzani, City of Death, The Curse of Fenric, Inferno even Blink deserve to be higher.

How the hell did Asylum of the daleks make it to 49? It was awful, full of continuity errors and had the shittest ever subplot.
There were more continuity errors then there is doctor who who episodes in history
Asylum of the Daleks might be the worst episode of Doctor Who ever.
And had one of the most obvious twists ever.
You're absolutely spot-on, The Moonbase is a brilliant episode which nicely builds on the body horror of the Tenth Planet. The creepy black-veined cyber-zombies are just fantastic. I think people have a really hard time seeing past the relatively low-budget production quality of classic-who; which is really sad because their stories tended to be more thought-provoking than the modern series.
I actually think that the first design of the Cybermen was the best, it was creepy.
Lord Slarr In some ways I agree - I think the fabric face-coverings, the disjointed voices etc were very creepy. The refrigerators on their chests was a bit silly in retrospect. A fusion of the chest-pieces from the Moonbase and the rest from Tenth Planet would be pretty awesome. Its a real pity the 2006 series didn't go with that concept art inspired by the TP Cybermen =)
Andrew Kingham Yeah, I really liked the cliffhanger of Tomb episode 2, shame the Cybermen aren't like that anymore.
I literally agree with every one of your opinions. New Who is a shambles compared to Classic Who, nobody appreciates it and everyone just ignores it. It annoys me so freaking much.
Day of The Doctor should not be number one; its an average adventure at best really. Caves of Androzani should have won for second year running!

"Genesis Of The Daleks deserves #1 as much as any story in Doctor Who History. Best part of "Day Of The Doctor" was Tom's amazing and touching scene with Matt Smith. That is what made that a good episode.
Day of the Doctor is just a worse-than-average story that happens to have more than one Doctor in it.
Great video, that poll was crap but it's uncanny how much I agree with a lot of the stuff you say, I'm a massive classic series fan too. You should make the Journeys End video public again as someone who really resents that episode I would like to see someone rant about it for once. In case your interested here's my top 10:

Really can't wait for the Ghostlight review. It is certainly a different story from the other three in season 26, with a very dark atmosphere. I do hope they re-watch it before their review, though, due to how complex it can be.
Nice to see two young guys who are not the annoying fangirls that make up the doctor who fanbase now. The classic era is much better on a whole then the new stuff.

I hated it, but whatever their opinions, I think they should be represented if they really believe them.
Earthshock should be in the all time top 10. I count myself extremely fortunate indeed to have grown up in my single digits seeing Pertwee & Tom Baker at first broadcast Saturday tea times, and despite hitting the teenyears and discovering other pursuits the awesome smack in the brain that made me 7 again was the shock face gaping appearance of the new Cybermen...bloody brilliant...and what and ending!

Astoundingly good video and I agree on all counts, particularly with the bit about certain types of fan. Despite growing up in the era of the reboot, I started with the video tapes of the classic series and therefore hold it in far higher esteem.

I would have put "seeds Of Doom" and "City Of Death" higher and add episodes like "Terror Of The Zygons", 'Robots Of Death", "Androids Of Tara", "Face Of Evil" and "State Of Decay" on there. It's surprising how quickly "The Deadly Assassin" has gained popularity and is near the top of a lot of top 10 polls.....including Doctor Who magazine. Fun to see these different lists from people. Linda Taylor I am a big fan of a lot of Tom Baker stories. He's probably my favourite doctor. I don't really like state of decay and I haven't yet seen season 16 or most of season 17 but I've seen most of his earlier stories and season 18 stories. I highly rate Genesis, Ark in Space, Terror of the Zygons, all of season 13 but planet of evil, Masque of Mandragora (which I think is under rated), Robots of Death, Horror of Fang Rock, The Sunmakers, City of Death and for some odd reason I adore The Keeper of Traken. What do you think of seasons 16 and 17 as I have seen barely any of 17 and none of 16

If so, please can you review them on your channel as I would love to know what you think of them and your reviews are always the best. If not, could you do a written review in your blog?

how the heck did destiny of the daleks get above the two doctors?
To each there own. My roommate and I enjoyed it and clicked on the added CGI effects. It;s not the greatest episode either but it was not that bad either and Tom was very good in it. Nobody's right or wrong for liking either one better. It's all personnel opinion. Plus I hate when someone says they don't like an episode because someone else said that.
I'm now 27 years old and watched classic who on UK Gold back in mid-late 90s early 00s...I'm glad i am not the only one
I like most modern Who episodes minus some of the earlier Matt Smith ones, how the hell is 'Let's Kill Hitler' is better than some of the ones you mentioned. It is a terrible episode and really really stupid.
I love the little hint to Ambassadors Of Death in the opening! It' funny when I spoke to Colin Baker at my local sci fi con he said the one thing he can't stand are episode polls and watching this video, I can see why! The Movie and Greatest Show In The Galaxy, I was shocked by that, I loved those! Granted Classic who is subjective and no ones list will be the same, but I think this list has a lot of voters who aren't classic fans! And ah UKTV Gold, fond memories of the 7th Doctor for me, my first Doctor!
Also some so-called Classic fans don't watch all the Classic era Doctor's. For instance...look at how many good to great episodes the 4th Doctor had and very few posters, on this vide, mention them.

Absolutely love Season 7; even Ambassador's of Death is an enjoyable story for its length.
Ambassadors Of Death was the only episode I didn't enjoy in Season 7, it wasn't awful, just tiresome. But I still love the season as Inferno is my favorite episode.
I love your videos - but you mention some of my faves negatively - School Reunion is a lovely, feel-good story. It drips with nostalgia. Let's Kill History is very different, utterly barmy and out-there - and wonderful. But I love hearing your comments either way. I agree with you about Enemy of the World though - really enjoyable.

I agreed with practically everything you guys said. I was disgusted with that poll when it was released, some people just don't appreciate good Who. As for my favourite story, it's got to be Marco Polo, hands down. I love a good historical and Tegana is such a great villain. Mark Eden's performance is excellent as well, I really hope it turns up one day soon.
Id say because people can care more for new better looking dr who now & get over hyped for it they can over look the old series.. That's why the older ones got voted so low, personally I love the new series but I respect the classic series highly and I really need to get round to watching them in 1 go someday, great review/reaction guys ❤️👍🏻🇬🇧

The whole 'reboot' thing has been utter pants from start to finish. To me it all ended on the 6th December 1989.
So my top 10 includes in no order:

I, for one, completely agree with that except I'd take out caves of Androzani and replace it with Destiny of the Daleks instead. Other than that; perfect.

Great to see "Hand Of Fear" and Keeper Of Traxkken" on there. Two good episodes where we get to see Sarah Jane say goodbye to the Doctor and the end of one of the absolute greatest pairings ever in Doctor Who history between leading man and lady (Tom and Liz). It was also the only time that the actors playing the Doctor and companion got to write there own dialogue. It was great to see the Masters return in the "Keeper OF Trakken" and Tom Doctor yet again change in his mood and feel.

I think the idea of Davros being a head came from a 6th Doctor audio called The Juggernauts. As far as I know in that story, he hides a bomb in his chair and attempts to blow up either the Doctor or Mel, but even then he should be less than a head!
If I had my way, The Day of the Doctor would be #241.

I think the problem is that even though people like me love the classic stuff, and most of the new series can't be bothered to listen to the audio because people find it harder to listen than watch

Lumpy IceCream I'd say it's probably the best Davison story personally but i'm not so sure about it being top of the 80's or of all time for that matter. But still, it's an excellent story which I think is essential to any whovian :) What's your favourite story if you have one?
My favorite Davison story is Resurrection of the Daleks, not sure why but I really do love that one but my favorite story of all time is either Genesis of the Daleks or Pyramids of Mars

Just listened to the trailer for The Fifth Doctor Box Set and I have to say both stories actually look really good. The first story (Psychodrome by Jonathan Morris) in particular looks very good and I really liked the music they used in the trailer. The second story (Iterations of I by John Dorney) also looks pretty good and could have the potential to be a good scary story, yet I could be wrong.
I'm looking forward to getting the Big Finish box set of the Fourth Doctor/Hinchcliffe audio books.

Guys, most people who read these sort of things like DWM are often 12 year olds who unfortunately don't take into consideration that there is 30 years of previous history, TDOTD is a prime example of this, of course Pyramids of Mars, TROD and Genesis are better than that. I am of the generation of you two who grew up viewing Doctor Who on repeat on UKGold, as much as I do agree that the Classic Series is far more superior compared to New Who, the current fanbase shows how often the Classic Series is overlooked, which I think is sad. I know this is based on opinion but most of the opinions in the poll are very wrong. This has to have been the best overlook I've watched over these results.
Some of the worst decisions in my opinion that were not mentioned for those interested.
- The Brain of Morbius is apparently worse than Journey's End, The Eleventh Hour and School Reunion which is bollocks
- The Mind of Evil is worse than Rose, The Snowmen, Midnight which is bollocks again
- And how Planet of the Daleks, which to my mind is one of the best 70's Dalek stories behind Death, is not even ranked in the top 100 is madness
But this was a good and centred review and you have highlighted exactly what I hate about the current fans and how the Classic Series is so overlooked. Cheers Guys

At least Stolen Earth's down from 13th Place but not down far enough. And I'm surprised that Silver Nemesis outranked Delta and the Bannermen, I thought that should've been in the 170-ish mark. Keys of Marinus and The Celestial Toymaker took a major pummelling downwards whilst The Ribos Operation tiptoed up a bit. What I hate about The Moonbase is that it has a scarf-wearing Frenchman, a stiff-upper-lipped Englishman and a superstitious Scotsman in it. Bit too stereotypical for my liking. Asylum of the Daleks at 49th Place is what annoys me the most. Did voters notice the pile of plotholes in that story? PS - Glad to see my vote for Cushing was acknowledged in there. PPS- Ghost Light's just a story about Ace with Evolution metaphors as far as I can tell. Still wish it had been Lungbarrow instead, Also 26:43 that's why I like The Two Doctors. Sorry for the massive text block.
While I really like Stolen Earth and Journeys End. It is definitely lower down than the Time Warrior, which is my favourite classic story.
Also Davros is not a head in Remembrance of the Daleks. When he is revealed you can see him move his body forward so he has a body but no hand so he doesn't have his arm out, but he would have got his robotic hand during the Time War and be the design in Stolen Earth and Journeys End

The DVD of "Shada is well done and nothing beats Tom Baker filling in the gaps of dialogue with his commanding voice. Plus he is the original Doctor in that story. But the 8th Doctor one isn't bad.
Five Doctors, Earthshock, better than Fenric?! Oh, my aching sides. Fenric is absolutely my favourite 'classic' story. And as a VHS era fan (my first story was the Chase on UKGold) I enjoy the new stuff just as much as the old. And the Big Finish audios. And the EDAs, NDAs, PDAs, and MAs. Honestly I just enjoy Who. Some more than others, clearly, but I don't prefer one Doctor's era to another's really. My only 'struggle' was when I didn't enjoy, as a whole, S5 and S6 at all. Fair blew my mind to be a hater (or a decent critique of Moff, take your pick;-) ). Though watching some back I enjoy them more than on first broadcast, so that's good. Wedding of River Song I hated, though enjoyed much recently (even with the casual dismissal of France's Barber's big bad). Luckily my opinion shifted enough to still enjoy a good chunk of Matt's era (though I still think S5 is overrated and Matt's weakest season)! So, in short, I enjoy most Who. And don't think the role has ever been miscast.

The twin dilemma is bad but not the worst
"Armageddon Factor" is not great but it is not bad or the worst. Scenes like the Doctor meeting up with Drax, the final scene in the Tardis and the first couple of episodes are very enjoyable and have some great, entertaining moments. I have definitely seen worse.

Guys, what's wrong with The Stolen Earth/ Journey's End? That one's one of my top favorites. Then again, any story involving the Daleks I love. (That being said, I've yet to see the vast majority of classic Who stories, as I've only recently became a fan, so there are probably ones a lot better)
+MaddoxProductions1 Yeah, that Donna thing was something I really disagreed with too. Doctor-Donna? It's not even like the Doctor came up with the answer or actually used that big brain of his, Donna just outta nowhere starts pressing buttons. You'd think the Dalek, instead of rolling up to her, would've just shot her from far away instead of uselessly gliding.
And now that you mention it, I can understand the moving the Earth thing also being a problem.
Rose? Pfft. I dunno why people care about her. She was such a bad person. Sure she became a hero of sorts, but like, she's still overly jealous about a man she barely even knows. I loved the nods to previous stories though, and in the end I feel the good does outwiegh the bad. Davros' return, his quotes, the music in the episodes, the Supreme Dalek, and the nods to the previous stories. Sarah Jane's reactions were awesome throwbacks to Genesis of the Daleks, and the Doctor's reference to the First Doctor serial The Dalek Invasion of Earth ("Someone tried to move the Earth once before...!"). I loved that.
I agree. My favorite part in The Stolen Earth is when the Daleks send the transmission to Earth and everyone reacts in fear, horror and despair when they hear that trademark "Exterminate! Exterminate!"

Yes, it is, but Doctor Who Magazine insist on calling the very first Dalek story 'The Mutants' for some silly reason. They also call 'An Unearthly Child' '100,000 BC'.
Billy Garratt-John An Unearthly child is the name of episode one to the serial '100,000BC'. The Mutants is the name of the 1st story in the daleks I think.
Lol, Americans on death row should be forced to watch dr, witch and the wardrobe on a constant loop. Day of the dr beating out caves, genesis, inferno, city of death is just ridiculous. RIDICULOUS!! Actually right now I’m a bit of a Hartnell mark. So many of his stories are completely underrated.

Two great story's!!!. I admit I think Tom Baker looks so cute and sexy in that episode especially. "The Deadly Assassin" is such an excellent story as well.
Pyramids of Mars was my favorite story as a kid. 35 years later is remains the same. The scene between Sutekh and the Docotr is great. Plus you get to see what happens if the Doctor and Sarah fail. Delta and the Bannermen is my least favorite, yuck.
"Pyramid Of Mars" could easily be a #1 on a lot of Doctor Who lists as could a few of Tom's story's.
Vengeance on Varos or any CB story shouldn't be anywhere near the top 20 80's stories. Fact!

That's what kids and fangirls do to the Doctor Who community, they've ruined doctor who and have only watched the new shitty love story episodes, unfortunately there's not much proper fans left.
Kids and fangirls have not ruined Doctor Who. Why should polls and other people influence the writing and feel of the show for you? There are plenty of kids who know lots about and watch Classic and new Who. Although I have to say I'm glad that Peter Capaldi is a bit older, to filter out the fangirls.

A true fan is a fan that enjoys a show & understands that it's flawed. For example, music wise I'm a Pet shop Boys fan & i can tell you that Bilingual is a rubbish album. Doesn't deny me the right of being a fan for saying so. I hate these folk who insist you watch every episode using the Ludovico technique & saying like you've been possessed by the BOSS that every episode is perfect. I've been a fan since 2003 & I watch every episode I can. I'm a Dalek fan & destiny of the daleks was crap. Good ideas but badly executed
There have been a few worse Daleks story's, just my opinion, and Tom's Doctor is very good in it even though it's not the strongest script. Different opinions though should be respected so I respect yours. God Bless.

Had good atmosphere, a non screaming companion and when the Doctor realizes he locked the enemy in with them Tom's reaction and Leala's pep up speech to the Doctor are very well acted. There are a bunch of New and Classic Who that are not nearly as entertaining or atmospheric. Anyway I respect your opinion even if I don't agree with it.

I have the DVD and can't wait to watch it. I love the scene of the Doctor and Romana 2 punting down the river in Cambridge.

the time medller is better than the chringge worth trian wreck of the aztets then agin I haven't wached it in five years. also the invason is my 4th favoret doctor who story so that should be higher but the war games is fantstic.
