ASide from all the technical explanation this car channel (rather THOMAS) seems to be the only one that really shares an emotional and feelful explanation of cars!! Keep doing you THomas!!! Big Fan!
The Audi 100 C2 (1976-1982) had this kind of air vents. I like the interior design, the classical dials look great. All in all everything looks just perfect and high class. The exterior looks also quite nice. Maybe, like Thomas said as well, a little bit too many lines. Walter de Silva's layout had even more quality designwise. I appreciate it that the Volkswagen corporation is offering modern, state of the art CNG versions. They are more silent than Diesels, offer better sustainability than gasoline and Diesel engines and are cheaper to run in the fuel expenses (at least in Germany). Yes, the 4 cylinder engine doesn't have "sound". But this is a sustainable car. About 8 s from 0-100 are more than sufficient (or would anybody say a Mercedes 500 SE from 1987 with a 5 liter V8 engine and 252 hp was a slow car? This sedan had the same acceleration figure). I am looking forward to more CNG versions in lower classes. The Volkswagen up! 68 hp CNG is just sustainable, but absolutely no fun to drive. It's even more phlegmatic than the "normal" 60 hp variant. That says a lot. The new Ibiza and Polo with the 90 hp CNG engine should be a good compromise between sustainability and reasonable power. When I drove the Audi A1 with 86 hp for one day, I was very satisfied with the performance.
I was also sceptic about front when I was watching world premiere, but now when I can see a lot of them in my country I can say that it is more beautiful than previous one, also one of the most beautiful cars on the road today. Great job audi, excellent.
Great review as usual. Test drove it recently. I was won over. Let's see if I sign the dotted line. Tested the 3.0T and it was an excellent drive. very sporty indeed.
Damn the car looks stunning in that spec. That leather with those rough stitches reminds me of the first TT..very stylish, even if it is animal skin. Your photography and editing has greatly improved Thomas. Well done
The body line on the side that curves up over the front wheel kills it for me, if it stayed straight or just disappeared into the wheel arch like on the VW golf line it's look a lot better.
I have a question that daunts me right now: if I buy a car in Germany what will the key differences in terms of engine power, finition (interior features) compared to the one I buy here in France ?
There won't be many I assume, if at all. If anything you'll simply have more options in Germany. We have many euro-importers here in Germany. I'm sure you have something like this in France as well, no?!
40Tman the A5 is actually smaller than a tesla model S that has actually the size of the Audi A7. Once you will see A5 and model S next to each other, You will apologize and go for the A5 :-)
I think electric cars won't be popular any time soon, I think if you buy for example this car is future proof to at least year 2022. And until 2022 this is will be still best option.
THAT'S a reasonable car and I'm glad, that Audi showed that such a technical combination is available with all it's advantages, all together in a very attractive chassis :) For me personally, I'd love that engine in a Audi A6 station wagon with a ~2.5l CNG engine - that would be perfect I guess ;) Thank you Thomas for that awesome presentation again, like we are used to! Vielen Dank auch an das gesamte Team dahinter, die hier mitgeholfen haben - viele liebe Grüße aus Österreich.
In my opinion the g-tron is an interesting alternative for the TDI version! It was definitely a good decision of the VW group to invest much money for this technology in the future, because everyone talks only about the electro engine! 😅👍 Looking forward to more reviews with this technology : )
I don't think the front is ugly, but I don't necessarily like the way Audi is going with all of their fronts. However, we probably will get used to it. Audi still beautiful cars :)
Yes, someone with sense! becasue the grille sticks out oddly since the bonnet does not extend over the front edge of the grille; makes all the difference, look at the Maserati ghibli for eg
It is truly, truly a shame and shows huge short-sightedness from the EU that they basically killed all CNG cars by pushing towards electric. CNG can also be produced locally from e.g. manure and other organic material when it's CO2 emissions are even below 0 and also contributing to your country's self-suffiency when it comes to fuels. Still, it acts like a gasoline car, but is cheaper to run. Considering existing natural resources electric cars cannot be the only solution, even if they are large part of it. Now we are literally putting all the eggs into one basket.
Can we suggest this version is a continuation of the Passat B7 Ecofuel and Skoda Octavia G-tec and is based on the same technology for petroleum/cng engines?
So much fantastic car detail from Thomas's Reviews, technical detail too. And a pleasure to watch the driving part with Thomas's excellent driving. Also at 12:46, this seemed a good illustration of why some buy an SUV - the low rear seat base actually looks uncomfortable! Good there's no range-anxiety with CNG. But no CNG infrastructure in UK - not surprising as the UK is the most backward country in the EU! At the moment!
Philipp W In Opel Monza oder Audi Urquattro hießen diese Digitalcockpits im Volksmund noch liebevoll spöttisch "Mäusekino". Damals wie heute (meistens) nichts für Ästheten.
The canine looks sophisticated and moreover the dashboard runs from front to rear seats with amazing console. I would drive only in low seat position (sport). What about having all-black alcantara in this car? Now I have to make a decent choice between A5 g-tronic and A7 RS line. There are the only Audi I do like.
Romain Meyer at worst you can sell it as a benzine engine with good ecologic bonus in term of taxes . This car will be popular in resale in certain countries.
great concept. no particulate matter, nearly no NOx. With this car you do not need to fear driving bans in European cities. Definitely the preferred choice conpared to dirty diesel
In my country (Argentina) we had gas based cars for over 20 years. It works but you get less power (gas has less energy than gasoline or diesel) and they run hotter, so in the long run valves and rings last much less and are kind of burned. Also you have to carry the extra weight of the tanks all the time and you get very low mileage from every fill, so you must go to the gas station more often (and here by law you must get out of the vehicle to charge gas on it, but not for gasoline or diesel so it is a pain in the a** if you have small childen and must take them out every time you refuel). Another drawback is insurance, vehicle controls and taxes, because you pay more of each and have to do a yearly control of the system plus every 5 years they must take the tank out and do a pressurization test to it, and you car air filter affects gas consumption a lot more so you should change if more often, same with oil because gas does not provide lubrication so the oil last less. The only good thing about it is that it is cheaper to run, so basically all taxis use them and also people who drive a lot use gas here, but engine longevity gets too compromised for me.
AUTOgas (LPG) has less energy then Gasoline or Diesel (~6,6kWh/l), NATURAL gas (CNG) has even more than Diesel (~13,3kWh/kg; with gasoline being at around 8,5kWh/l and Diesel at around 9,7kWh/l if I remember correctly)
Given your already comprehensive and successful videos will definitely love to see a review on the Hyundai Creta! Not too sure if they are in your market but it will be a make or break decision for me !
Thomas, pick one. Volvo V60 T6 R design (America version) or lower optioned Audi A5 sportback 2.0t. Both a little under $50,000 US. Important to us are resale, maintenance costs, and ability to carry some dogs on a road trip.
O drive a CNG car every day for work, is just a normal petrol car, but o put natural gas in it. In Portugal there os not many places to fill up the tanks. O dont now why population dont buy more cng cars, they are cleaner, they are safer in case of crash, they run as good or better than all the other fuels, the fuel is cheaper. So whats the reason for not invest on them!!!!! In my company there also Golf, passat, cng cars and they work lixe a charme
Hi Thomas, I live in the U.S. and can't decide between the Audi RS3 and the S5 Coupe. I bought the S5 but feel like maybe the RS3 would've been the better choice because it is more fast and sporty? What do you think?
I absolutely love your reviews. I don't know why it's taken me so long to discover this channel; as someone who drools over German cars regularly I've always been disappointed with the 5-minute overviews that are all over UA-cam. The only other person I'd say can compare to this detail is Nick Murray, but he doesn't review the cars I want him to :) Thank you for something so thorough!
Another great review Thomas. I appreciate your genuine belief in sustainable materials instead of animal skin. I'm not quite sure if I can live a leather-free life just yet but I am coming around and I think my next car will have as much sustainable material where offered.
17:26 the auto boot safety feature very dangerous as it doesn't work all the time... When I was unloading stuff my feet was under the car boot and it started to auto close.. Reacted fast enough to get out of the way
Thanks! The big difference is that you can produce wood in a sustainable way, but you could never kill animals in a sustainable way or that would be ethically ok.
Hei Thomas... if you compare this to a plugin hybrid? range / consumption / driving dynamics / engine reliability. Example: a 5 Series .... which do you think has the better smiles per gallon :D
I like the back but the way that the hood ascends a little and then rounds itself down looks so ugly to me. Audi needs to redesign the entire front if you ask me, it does not belong on that otherwise beautiful A5.
+Jérôme Lévesque-Boucher we have plenty of a4 reviews, the allroad has plastic fenders... there is a short one with holger, youtube search autogefuehl audi a4
Paul Andrew you cannot drive a LPG car in tunnels, underground parkings and other covered areas. It's the point of CNG as in case of leakage, it evaporates . Its production and consumption also pollutes much less than LPG that is petrol based.

Habe heute mal kurz in beiden Platz genommen also Kodiaq und Peugeot. "Natürlich" besser was die Materialauswahl angeht war der Skoda aber nicht, klar der Peugeot ist sehr modern und der Kodaiq vieleicht zeitloser aber hochwertiger empfand ich den Peugeot zumindest auf den ersten kurzen Blick ins Interior.
I am still baffled on why some people say Audi makes the best interiors. I mean the quality is good and its all well design & functional. But its just not exciting and too many elements scream VW. I mean if you take away the Audi logo on the wheel it pretty much a Passat. Not bad just way too overrated.
Proper review as always, this is a really well designed car, and the proportion is perfect as a sport coupe. I will get it in Thomas blue.
great choice :)
Thomas you should be hired to do books on tape you have the most soothing voice! Love your reviews keep it up
hehe thanks =)

Great review Thomas. I just wish we had a CNG here in the US.
thx fr sharing =3
Looking good.
I don't understand why can't they make the coupe look as good.
Oh thank you for reply , my fault, just missed the directive the first time, I,m sorry. thank you enjoing your discussions on cars, lets go..

More intro like this please!
Great review like always. Thanks

for Europe, all cars have the same homologation (same EU rules), you wont find key differences
***** Thank you.
19:43 Thomas what is that red sign on the dashboard clicking? Thanks for answer!
Святой Фисташ I think distance warning
yeah this says that you should have more distance (was my camera man driving in front of me)

Great orange peel on that paint.

flattered =)

Nice, a Ford fusion
why does this car look like a ugly/fat tesla model S if you look it from the front.. wtf audi is soo ugly

i still dont get why its not electronic telescope steering. lose the animal skin and give me electric steering so i can make use of memory settings.
good point
Das virtual cockpit macht sooo viel aus
The car is very beautiful but the front is a little weird looking to me.
the front is so ugly
You really have to stay in front of it! Than the new A5 will look great 😉
yes it definitely looks better in person.
you are right. Was not very happy when i saw the car on photos. In real life i'd say the front is very good looking
Yes, someone with sense!

The A5 is arguably one of the most attractive Audi's but I think to call it beautiful is stretching things. It's no beauty in my opinion.
I like your new shoulder camera angle, you see more of the instrument panel. Make sure you keep your hair trimmed.
Can we suggest this version is a continuation of the Passat B7 Ecofuel and Skoda Octavia G-tec and is based on the same technology for petroleum/cng engines?

I like the front from the A4 and the back from the A5
Awesome review and great car - Beautiful, practical and efficient. Nice
thanks !
G-tron that sounds dangerous 😀 Like G-tron in da house 🙌
Das erste verdammte mal, dass ich den a5 ohne dieses hässliche virtuelle Cockpit sehe. Analog sieht so schön aus😍
jo echt net verkehrt so!

what about the resale value of a Cng vehicle ? Is this not the greatest disadvantage ?
guess there are hardly vehicles to compare yet
Romain Meyer I think "dirty" cars will have more problems in terms of resale in the future.
may be, but don' t forget that resale value is based on popularity also and cng is not popular at all for the moment.

What a nice car
17:22 It's probably made from kryptonite.
Is it just me or does the front look like a Tesla?
I just come here to watch Thomas's review! Do not care about car😊 full hd full screen👍🏼
way to go !
Great introduction of the A-5 G-tron, but not once you made it clear what is G-tron ,natural gas?
Did u watch full length? We had the explanation of that a couple of times
I appreciate you don't like animal skin to be used in the car, however you seem to be ok with wood

+radu_c this cng concept here is really great, its a shame that its only popular in italy so far
Autogefühl in Romania also... we have a lot of Erdgas stations... many Taxis use it.
Nice intro, you're stepping up. And review offcourse.
Is this manhattan grey or monsoon grey?
John Tan Daytona gray
I like the back but the way that the hood ascends a little and then rounds itself down looks so ugly to me. Audi needs to redesign the entire front if you ask me, it does not belong on that otherwise beautiful A5.
Agreed. That said like all recent Audis it does look much better in person.
Ya the 2013 facelift was the best.
would you drive a Gas driven engine personally Or is it just a temporary Solution to you?
oh I didn't watch till your conclusion where you talk about it
That Audi was in front of you most of the time :)
awesome review
thanks m8 !
I had no idea Audi and others sold CNG cars. Is this popular in Germany?
+John Trussell 3rd not yet
Great review, great car. Thomas, you are the best!

Audi's actual lineup is awesome. Any chance you guys will make a review of the A4 Allroad anytime soon?

Yes!!! A new video. Looking sharp I love that shirt
enjoy =)
Thanks this was such an amazing review and of a beautiful car!
Thanks 🙏
they install CNG instalation on the factory for this car??
Yes from Works. This makes sense as CNG is a rather complex technology, whereas LPG can also be retrofitted
Ok men i,m vietnam mits
The LPG is the future is even cheaper and has more caloric power than CNG and is more popular than CNG with 30 LPG stations to 1 CNG.
Paul Andrew you cannot drive a LPG car in tunnels, underground parkings and other covered areas. It's the point of CNG as in case of leakage, it evaporates . Its production and consumption also pollutes much less than LPG that is petrol based.
LPG has about half the caloric power of CNG (~6,6kWh/l for LPG against ~13,3kWh/kg for CNG). LPG is also not renewable, it's a byproduct of crude oil drilling. You're right about the popularity though. EU regulation however states that by 2020 in every country that's part of the EU there has to be a CNG station at least every 150km I think.
Paul Andrew - Electric cars are the future. Production of most combustion engine cars will be discontinued by 2035.
@@ICHDERTWEETY We are in 2020, and here in Romania we have still only 3 CNG station... Seems like here nobody care about the EU regulation....
watch the master do his this

19:55 right seat has no seat belt ?
it does come from the other side :)
does anyone know if they are gonna do another facelift or all new to match the inetrior of the a7 a6 a8
Not announced yet But we will keep you updated if they do
Autogefühl do you think it will happen or do you think they will keep this smart virtual cockpit and mmi only for the a5 and below categories?
Well there will be a facelift of the a4, so there should be a year later then one for the a5
Autogefühl do u think the interior will be the same as the newer Audi interiors and when do u think it will come out?
I guess not. But we will show and tell you as soon as possible
The hood is like Skoda's Superb.
Not good design
Blind?
Why?
Another boring Audi and this time it's ugly as well.
