You know what, I'd prefer not to get good footage as it means people are actually driving how they're meant to. But then again, how do dash cam channels survive without footage.

At 23:48 I'm pretty sure you're meant to apply the stop rule when traffic lights are out or flashing. You can't just drive straight through the intersection as if you have the green light.

@@ibainesy At intersections with traffic lights there are stop lines painted on the road, hence why you'd apply the stop rule if the traffic lights are out or flashing.
I thought the lights turned red just before the dashcam driver drove through them

9:09 I often watch US bad driving videos and the dash cam drivers are usually pretty polite and not swear-y. So glad that we've boganified an American here in Australia. He swears and commentates like the rest of us here. :P

Why do the car manufacturers insist on putting indicators in stupid places, like thevideos bottom of the rear bumper, or inset, so the brake lights obscure the indicators. That kinda stuff really makes me mad. 👿

4:03 For those Strayans who don't recognize it, that's a deer, what we get instead of 'roos on US roads usually with zero warning. And yes, they just stand there as if hey don't recognize cars as dangerous. They get up to 400 lbs (180kg) and can definitely kill your car if you hit one.
If you are on a multi lane-road you should not cross any continuous edge line before turning. Directly from Gov't page.

Hi Robert i see so that explains the confusion so 3 points
1. the video was recorded in NSW not QLD so Queensland rules obviously don't apply
2. the law is actually the same in QLD and you can drive over the white edge line up to 100 meters on muiple lane roads see link to the law for QLD you will see no metion of muiltple lane roads www5.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/qld/consol_reg/toumrr2009629/s150.html
3. the webpage you quoted is just government depart for transports website where they used own wording to make the webpage and someone their has added the note on multiple lane roads as a recommendation not a law or requirement thats why its says "should " not "you cant" or is "not allowed "etc as its legal to do.

Some companies put a big sign on their Side Dumps "If you are 200meters or closer to our trailer, we will not cover the cost of your windshield". Bingo, stay away from gravel trailers unless you want to eat gravel.
Hi Jake they put that on their truck by it means nothing , have no legal standing any vehicle on a publi orad has to cover it load complete so nothing fall out/off and any damage caused they are liable for , done that myself with truck straspoting earth from the construction sites on a motorway in sydney that were dropping rocks, was a large median coverga eon it as the project was run by the NSW government so they were sued by 1000s of drivers who had damage caused by it :)
@@ScottsCarcameras yea.. I can only imagine. Those stones, even if falling off fenders can do damage. Funny thing, I had a bearing fall off a grain truck, likely from the bin gate, bounce right into my windshield. Only reason why I didn't eat that bearing was because it hit the corner of the windshield. I went back to pick up that bearing a couple days later and man was that bearing heavy.
Thing is, most of the time, you have no clue where it came from, or who to go after for compensation. In the end, your insurance should cover that stuff. Hazards of the road is expected, like hitting animals, hail and my favorite driving into a flooded section of road.

There’s a one lane street near me with a full parking lane that sooooo many people use as a left turn lane due to the high volume of traffic around school pick up time etc...

hey mate, that one was my vid, i know what the rules default to in that case, i did slow down almost 20km under the limit and continued on when i saw other cars giving way, the lights all reset seconds after i drove through the intersection
And if they're not working at all it's effectively a stop sign. Either way it seems to be ignored a lot.

That intersection in Geelong that Glenn had some footage from is notorious for absolutely braindead drivers
McKillop and Ormond...one of several I encounter nightly.
The number of people who decide to jump lanes at the last second or try to jump a queue and get confused why a loaded tow truck nearly goes up their ass and toots at them...sigh
Other two worst areas I’ve noticed is the loop after the bridge at bottom of Ballarat road where it joins Melbourne road/Latrobe terrace...people fly down the right lane and then force their way in to turn left, then can’t get into the correct lane to avoid going down mercer...
Other is Latrobe terrace between Gordon ave and McKillop, with people trying to race past the cars in the left then right before the turn they want barging their way across...

I didn't know what the fuck that zigzag was. Honestly think that makes things more dangerous, because it's confusing as fuck and if you don't know what it means, it isn't easy to figure out. For example, if for some reason you don't know what double white lines mean, it isn't hard to get the idea that it's a block, as in do not cross. Zigzag has no implicit meaning.
If i had to guess, i would presume ZigZag means you need to start drifting at that point. Like how you turn your steering wheel to keep your car drifting (left, right, left, etc.).
Scary to think about people drifting their cars around pedestrian crossings.

2:33 I live in that town. I've had to watch it a few times to try and work out what the fuck they were doing cause it makes no sense and that intersection is very clear. Im guessing they're not from here and couldn't see the entry to the servo on Bridge road (the road they were meant to turn onto) so saw the entry on nebo road and used that one. The funny bit is there's another servo they couldve used a block down if they just went straight (like a normal person) at the lights and couldve seen it from the lights too.
Also the A-Hole at 20:20 should've been the SBTF

In relation to the blurring in this one it was because we didn’t know what was actually going on the best we could figure out the person who submitted the video was that person get it taken away with either had mental health issues or possible drug issues but as we didn’t know the circumstances we didn’t want to show me the persons face and if it was someone who committed a traffic offence then they would’ve been up there

I got one question that is puzzling to me ? Why it seems to me most people here in Australia when it comes to driving are pure idiots ? For example again today from M4 motorway. 3 lanes each way .... overtaking lane clogged with people who do not overtake middle and far left lane are empty, nobody seems to move back .... makes me wonder what part of: KEEP LEFT UNLESS OVERTAKING they do not understand ????
Hi, I am on the hunt for a good dash cam and wondering if anyone has any recommendations; My budget is between $50-$200. I am not sure if this is possible but any recommendations on good "wireless" dash cams (I googled it and they aren't a thing but just are called that and run on battery) as my 12V Socket (cigarette lighter thing) in my car doesn't work ( I haven't tried it in a while so will try plug something into it to see if it works) but just needing some good dash cams to look at because I have finally come to the conclusion I need one. Please be kind :)
