Zip Merge in Australia works like this...you see a red light ahead....there is a left lane that will end soon..turn into the left lane to get ahead.....when light turns green, floor it to get 2cm ahead of the car on your right and veer towards him to panic the driver next to you to stop so you can "safely Merge" If you have a UTE with bull bar and big wheels or Commodore with P plates even better...
I absolutely fucken hate this ... It's why so many hog the RH lane ... cos the LH lane stops dead for the Pricks who can't merge. I sometimes use the LH most lane just to slow down the Morons & educate a couple people how it's s'posed to work (Very rare nowadays)

7:53 my dad made a random comment about turning the think white line you should stop behind into a retractable spike strip which deploys when the light is red...and that emergency vehicles would broadcast a signal to force them to retract when within a certain range
You’d find people would stop for the lights a hell of a lot more when there a tangible repercussion...
Hell, make the spikes a type that will detach in the tyre...so when you go to get your tyres replaced, which would take place of the fine (thus helping deter the thought of revenue raising), they see why you get that, and log the reason for the wheel change into the system...get your tyres changed more than x times per year...loss of licence?
Not to mention be helpful in stimulating the economy...
Also one way spikes down one way streets, they go down as you drive over them in the right direction, go the wrong way and boom go your tyres.
The clip featured at 7:50. There is a red light & speed camera there just to the right off camera, the Muppet on the bike probably didn't set it off as it probably thinks he was going to be going straight ahead. If that traffic light was red and he still went ahead of the dashcam car there's a good chance he would've gotten flashed by the camera as it would've meant he would've crossed the line.

1:45 Highway Patrol recently had a very slow pursuit by multiple units because it lost all its tyres while evading spikes at an intersection and went onto a motorway.
For some reason my finger taps the like button before the video starts.

Wait so you're telling me roads are a public good? I thought Mercedes drivers did own the roads. I thought to be allowed to drive one you had to first purchase a road and sign a contract allowing other Mercedes drivers to drive how they want on your road and you do whatever you want on their road also but every other driver must adhere to road rules.

At 1:28,why was the DC vehicle driving in the RH lane with a clear LH lane?
At 21:54 did the motorcyclist have his headlight ON? Was he easily visible?
The car was moving across lanes at a rate the motorbike would have been in the cars blind spot the entire time. Extra time & care should have been taken to check said blind spot.
That’s very much the type of thing you have to keep an extra eye out for when you’re riding a motorbike as you’re so much smaller and also more agile (likely to move about in a lane).
The car driver should have been taking more care when crossing multiple lanes.
re 1:28 DC driver can be in any lane they choose and the LH was not clear had a commodore in it :)
In qld that RH/LH rule only occurs on roads 80km or over too I believe. Scotty can you confirm this?

To be fair the white car @14.18 had to serve in and out cause there were 2 right hand lane hogs - how amazing that u had dash cam of the 2 guys going round the construction site and dash cam from the car coming the other way thats amazing lucky there wasnt anyone working on the road or a large construction vehicle cause it would be one squashy outcome
I can't believe how stupid they are, first disobeying the red plus the speed they were going is def more than allowed speed. I hope both clips have been sent to the police so they both end up with fines.

Because the right lane is blocked by the traffic control vehicle making the option of straight ahead or right turn ok from the left lane.
@@AUmarcus ...in which situation you shouldn't be too surprised if traffic at the next entrance to the roundabout fails to anticipate your direction of travel and maybe you should just show a bit of patience.

I see this every day , We live in a small coastal town called Nowra , We have a street thats 1.2K`s long we never get to the end with out seeing a person on a Phone , Most are semi drivers or mothers taking kids to school , I should get a dash cam for my harley It would be a crack up !

In many occaisions, the left lane is almost clear....!!
that is exactly my takeaway from these videos... fast lane is always the most occupied line, and its even more absurd to see some HGVs there.
in europe it is unthinkable...
in reference to when in the video as we dont have fast lanes here and depending on the example using the right lane is ok and normal :)

Hi in all of Australia does not have any reference to any lanes as "fast lanes " roads with a speed limit above 80kmh and /or sign posted keep left have overtaking lanes in which you are only to use to overtake traffic then move out of the lane but there are various exemptions and not speed reference as in fast , so it will depend on each individual example as to if any law was broken or if the driver is allowed to use that road,

I reckon the luxury European car drivers are hogging the fluid without using it to drive up prices. Costs $1 just to do a lane change now. Not to mention the cost of brake light fluid as well.

All roads in that town are vastly under developed and far behind the needs off the citizens much more so than just about anywhere.
Try getting into town from the freeway via KooWeeRup road after 5pm... an exercise in futility.
It's actually faster to drive to the next town and then double back on the highway.
Not condoning driving in the dirt, but fuck Pakenham's backward development and lazy council.
The left turn lane where that car is headed needs extending, the one near the caravan park does too, and the entry only to the loop around the consolidates school needs to also be an exit saving congestion at the corner intersection near the school.
More needs to be done to reduce the time cars spend on roads and in bottle necks, then we'll see cars filtering off the freeways into towns faster reducing buildups near exits.
too bad noone learned in school that merging lanes is a bloodsport....

Hi Robert depends which exactly you are after , there is the drivers handbook that explains all the road rules and how to drive etc
there is the short list of rules just show the laws and fines , demerits etc

Thanks for your question so the driver in that video broke to laws the first one that broke they give way law which is failing to give way to traffic already in the lane you were changing into they had to wait for the dash cam colour either pass or from a sufficient space to be between them and the other vehicle before they change lanes the second thing is they were not actually allowed to change lanes at that point they were at the road now had an unbroken line which they crossed over making the legal laid change so you cannot change lanes over an unbroken line and you must give way to traffic in the rain you’re changing into have a good one

0:29 is completely out of context haha, the Subaru xv had broken down and needed a jumpstart. The absolute legend in the Ute pulled over and helped jumpstart the Suby. I was in the car behind the Suby (you can see my roofline before the camera cuts off😅)
