Just setting Cody up to finish it.
That’s how I took it too.
Exactly
Yeah this dude was hating
That's how I saw it too.
It was fairly easy to tell that’s what Punk was doing
It’d be great if Netflix doesn’t raise their rates but after spending that much money for Raw you know they will have to
I don't mid much personally if it is only a buck or two. The ad tier is still very much affordable and I average just one 15-30 second ad per program.
@@lotsathedetox Yeah, but I'm boujee AF, and don't like ads. Lol
They are already ready to cancel their cheapest plan
I also find I stopped watching Netflix ages ago. With Hulu I have always gotten raw for like the past 10 years the next day. Which honestly there was a time when I cared and I was watching on cable but over the past six years that’s been good enough for me as more of a casual viewer so in my case, that would be a whole Nother subscription I’d need to bring back just to watch one show
Netflix is on your Smart TV, its on your computer, its on your phone, its on every console from Xbox, to Playstation, it's on your Firestick, It's EVERYWHERE in this era! I think more people have Netflix at this point, then people actually have cable. AND... its more affordable. More people will be watching WWE than ever before in my opinion.
yeah how u watch netflix is easiest to you personally me il cast it to my TV from my phone
I mean, Netflix isn't available on the switch, but you right on everything else

I disagree. They can potentially have the most viewership but I don't they actually will. It's not as hot as it was in the attitude era.

I can watch Raw at work now... this is definitely a big deal.
you could have with peacock, and every ppv as well.
Your local cable company probably had an app to watch tv on
Dude, I cannot wait!
@@themetalreaperttv yeah but peacock only has 30 million subscribers. Netflix ALREADY has 270 million subscribers. Way more people already have netflix and are used to it. I wasn't about to pay for peacock when I already had netflix - just like most people I know. I guarantee RAW is going to surge in viewership and popularity. Especially in other countries. Watching RAW just got easier because it's now gonna be on the biggest streaming platform in the world.

Punk landed a second shot that went unnoticed by I think 90% of the people that watched it live. "Allow me to give you the full CM Punk Road to Wrestlemania Experience. See, Cody Rhodes you have carried this company on your back for a soul crushing two years. And you're right around the corner and they hand you the cover of WWE 2k - Congrats btw. And right when you're about to cross the finish line and finish your story... Oh wait, what's that in the distance?! It's a bigger superstar that hasn't been around in a very long time coming to take it all away from you... And I'm talking about me." Man just called Cody, CM Punk 2013 lmao
I got it. That part just made punk into what he hated the most, he's now nothing more than a has-been forced into a spot at wm that he didn't deserve.
In the UK it'll be RAW, Smackdown, NXT, and PLE shows all on Netflix.
Totally awesome I'm buzzing get it for free too, magic 😂😂❤

Punk didn't say that line as if he forgot what Dusty said or needed Cody to remind him, it was to put further emphasis on that line to have Cody say it because he hasn't lived a life anywhere near what Dusty or CM Punk had to live through to become what they became, which was to further highlight how much CM Punk was the actual manifestation of the American dream.......that's insane that this guy couldn't pick up on anything of that.
👍
Went over his head
I kept waiting for Bully to say, "Dave, it's a work." when he was going on about Punk "forgetting the line" and being disrespectful. He's a tweener. He's always going to have heelish tendencies. They are both over. The fans love them both. But between the two of them, Punk is clearly more of the heel. I don't understand why Dave was so offended about Punk playing his role. It's a promo. lol It's a work. It went (almost) exactly as planned.
I thought Dave was working too tbh
This is awesome for us outside the US especially the philippines in which 90% of the population use netflix! We get to have WWE back!

USA network isn’t free tv. I haven’t been able to watch a live raw in years.
Apple, Netflix and Hulu are actually part of my cell service, no cost (rolled into the monthly fee but not an obvious line item).

Yeah, I think it's funny everyone is saying Cable TV is free but the Netflix paywall will be an issue when like everyone already has Netflix or knows someone who has it.
RAW & Chill is a WILD statement 😂😂😂😂
Better get some birth control 🤣🤣🤣
😭🤣
Did Dave get worked by this promo? I can't tell? 😅
Either way, the promo was fantastic. It wasn't meant to be a blow by blow, main event match promo. This was to promote the Rumble and the Road to Wrestlemania.
Also it was just a tease for a future Cody/Punk match. Drawing the lines in the sand for the fans. When they get to their match, then the real promo battles will begin.
No one seems to give credit to the fact that CM Punk leaving not only gave us The Bryan train but also gave a voice for WWE to push more well known indy mega stars.
Was actually when he left, more so the Pipe Bomb and the years that followed. Look how they were treated prior to punk . Guys like Bryan, Lowki, Colt Cabana, Archer, Sydal etc were treated unfairly compared to WWE grown talent and it wasn't until the season of the Pipe Bomb did WWE start pouring the efforts into mid size indie machines and ever since the 11-13 because of Punk nxt /WWE was filled with this new generation of Punk size guys. Rollins, Bryan, Styles, Balor, Aries, Cole, Nakamura, Zayn, Owens, Kenta, Hero, Neville . I think WWE would still be full of Batista, Ortons and Cenas if it weren't for Punk
You guys have had it easy in the US all these years. In the UK we have had to have Sky to watch WWE since 1991/1992. Then we have to wait up until 1am to start watching a ppv. We had to purchase every ppv for years on top of Sky etc. For the last like 3/4 years we have had to pay for the Network, Sky and then BT sports to just to watch raw. This is a great deal for the UK as I can now cancel my sky and bt subscription.
No more bt sports subscription finally 🎉 that just kept going up and up

PLE'S are going to be on peacock only in the US, outside the US it's all on Netflix. That's major
Really? That's dumb splitting their fan base across different streaming services. I'm not paying for both Peacock and Netflix. I'll just keep Peacock.
@@natesmith3173 the thing is that WWE has contract still with peacock in the US and other countries like india, I heard that in the past McAfee interview with Nick Khan, so until that's solved, peacock get PLE's and Netflix gets RAW and others like documentaries and stuff WWE does

That's what old people do.
Old people and complaining? Name a more iconic duo 😂
Old people crying? Nothing new.
In the U.S., as of June 2023, USA Network was available to 72.4 million homes. There were approximately 67 million Netflix users in the U.S. in 2023. People tend to share Netflix within their family and friends as well, so that number is likely higher. Also, people aren't watching the USA Network on their phone at the airport or at the gym, but people watch Netflix everywhere.
Netflix is also worldwide, so this simplifies getting Raw into homes outside the U.S.
This is a good deal for WWE viewership growth.
I watch RAW on UA-cam TV anyway. So to me they’re already on an app. Them switching which app I have to click on isn’t an inconvenience for me.
Is it still gonna be on UA-cam tv once the move finally happens?
@@anthonybarnes1903 No, Raw will be exclusive to Netflix, Smackdown will be on USA (so you’ll still be able to see that on UA-cam TV), and NXT is going to The CW.
When they go on Netflix hopefully they’ll change it back to TV 14😅
Haven’t they been TV 14 for awhile??
@@JayBoo228 They are still family friendly with a edge. Dave thinks 500 people om Twitter is an outrage. 23 million watched NFL on Peacock. AEW doesn't want the Monday Night Football smoke.

Punk changed the landscape of wrestling by simply being one of the top stars in wwe when no one ever gave him a realistic shot. That is an undeniable fact. And are we really going to ignore his fundamental role in the growth and development of a promotion like ROH?! Delusional to call Cody more of a maverick and "revolutionary" to the wrestling business than Punk.
It's going to be odd for sure that Raw won't be on cable anymore. I already have Netflix and normally watch a recorded raw to skip commercials I think I'll enjoy it on more on Netflix. but I can see it going to 2 hours honestly
Who has cable anymore with paying 120.00 a month
Being on Netflix gets rid of commercials, they won't have to stay PG (unless they choose too), and it's NOT Monday Night Raw anymore (just Raw, unless Netflix chooses to continue with Mondays).
USA is getting Smackdown though so I doubt the will look to add a competitor on Monday's
Excellent for nations where getting access to WWE costs a lot of money. As part of Netflix we will essentially get it for free on a platform most people already have.
I haven't had cable for 8 years, but do have Netflix. You bet your ass I'm tuning in
I don't think raw will ever leave Mondays only for the fact because they love having raw right after the pay-per-view weekend and the fact that it's on Netflix should mean we can watch it whenever we want
Sunday PPvs are not common anymore. Now it’s Saturdays.
@@jmiyagi12345but Monday night Raw will always be Monday night Raw

Loved the Cody/Punk showdown. I agree with Bully that it was a draw, but I'm with Dave that it was memorable.
@lil_jawa I can't predict that. WWE has been pretty good at surprises lately.
I haven't gotten to watch RAW in forever because I haven't had cable. Also, I was considering cutting Netflix or at least lowering my subscription level. This is just made the service more valuable and I wish I didn't have to wait until 2025.
I’m for it Netflix doesn’t do teres with commercials just regular and 4k teres but no commercials hopefully I can see full matches without the breaks would be great

I think RAW dropping back to a 2 hour show could be one of the best things about this. Maybe it even opens the possibility to do “special” editions of RAW (like “Day 1”) where you can do a 3 hour show.
Regardless, there’s lots of cool ways to play with the format of the show being on a streaming platform. Curious to see what they do with it.
Agreed.
It was USA networks idea. $$$
This is game changing outside the US. So much easier to watch all the content. Hopefully 4k without ads and Raw goes back to 2 hours.
The downside is the back catalog remains on Peacock through 2026.
WWE already came out and said RAW will remain 3 hours but it may NOT always be on Mondays in the future.
Netflix paid for 3 hours fam
@@ApexCalibre It's more than 3 hours of content if you live outwith the US.
@@NewNomics It depends. If you are outwith the US, what's on peacock might also be on Netflix.
I'm in the UK...if you don't have WWE Network for £9.99 or a Sky Sports or BT Sports subscription then WWE is a no go....now you are going to move Raw, Smackdown and NXT, as they've said, to Netflix, including all PLE's....this opens a massive window of opportunity to fans like me who now get all that for a Netflix subscription which means I get a ton of stuff and WWE. Yes, I'd still need a Network Subscription to access the older material which I enjoy as a near 40 year old. However, I'm really pleased with this one, really pleased. It's a massive bonus for me.
I think it will benefit other companies like TNA/AEW as well. They can put on a Monday night show and we can still watch both
Hopefully aew and tna will benefit from all this.
Retrain my brain? Raw is now on Netflix. Ok BOOM. I'm on Netflix. Not that hard of a learning curve.
Also Netflix uk and Ireland and other countries are getting raw and smackdown nxt and ppvs witch is huge
Cable died right before the pandemic in my opinion. If you still have cable now, you are wasting money
I stopped watching wrestling because I got rid of cable. That was more then 15 years ago. Next year there is a really good chance I’ll start watching again. It’s a big deal. But I agree with bully in that it’s not because they are leaving cable. They should of started streaming raw live when they launched the network.
Would have preferred Amazon Prime Video, but Netflix is going to grow Raw's viewership tremendously....
Yeah me too. I'll likely always keep Prime just for the free shipping. Netflix is a staple for the family though, but I wouldn't have it without them.
A decent IPTV service blows Netflix and Prime out of the water!
I thought peacock since the WWE has content on there
Keep that to yourself dont ruin it for us keep your mouth closed@OfficialJoePlays

Hey as someone who cut the cable cord over a decade ago, I'll be able to watch again.....that is if something is on worth watching. No cost out of my pocket as my Netflix subscription is provide with my cell-phone plan.
I just gave my brother (lapsed wrestling fan) the news and he is ready to re subscribe to Netflix. I was planning on cutting Netflix but will hold on to it. So 1 year out and I think it's a big deal

Netflix is the biggest streaming service in the world. The company reported 247.15 million global paid memberships as of September 30, 2023.
Bro are we gonna get an Attitude Era 2.0 ?!?
I doubt it. They may be able to include more aggressive and interesting angles, but other than blood not being a big deal on Netflix, they are a family friendly company now and it's probably going to stay that way for the foreseeable future. That being said, it IS possible that RAW will be more mature rated and Smackdown (which will be on USA now) and NXT will stay more family oriented. Who knows I guess.
Nah
It’s possible maybe it could one day return to the attitude era anything is possible especially with the merger of UFC despite it being family friendly.
Only time will tell
@@BrownDog416 people been coping 10+ years for attitude era simply forget about it
That's exactly what I'm thinking! Also some movie quality side episodes!
Smackdown! will become the #1 show on USA NETWORK when Raw leaves
I think you're underselling the upsides here. Netflix is the largest streaming service in the world with 240 million + subscribers compared to WWE Network's 1.5 million. The flexibility viewers will have to watch it immediately or at any time afterwards without WWE having to be concerned at all about when they watch it, the money still rolls in, is good for both sides. Massive chance to get more casuals into the product. Netflix and WWE will both market the hell out of this.
Also wrestling has always had difficulties with advertisers but loyal fans that will follow it everywhere. They'll follow it to Netflix and ads are secondary to Netflix's core business model - and sold based on the service as a whole I'd expect.
This is big for Wwe because for a while it’s just a domestic company that would occasionally go out of the states now they seem to focus on being an international powerhouse. Netflix opens the doors to so many other countries and viewers especially in Asia
yeah exactly what if it suddenly it takes off in a market they were never in before ..its a big plus for wwe

I don't have traditional cable or a cable like live streaming service, and I don't want to pay $70 to $100 a month to get it... to paraphrase Mike Tyson.. I am estatic that Raw is going on Netflix..
Here's the thing.
Some act like the pipe bomb was Punk's last promo when it actually happened 3 years before he left.
Punk left because he couldn't get time off to recover from injuries.
Yes it failed but Punk did bet on himself by signing with UFC.
Despite his hate for WWE he did sign with Fox to talk about that company.
He then waited to be ready to wrestle again and AEW picked up the phone to call him. I truly believe if HHH was in charge then he would have returned to WWE sooner.
77 Million Subscribers USA & Canada.. 247 million subscribers Worldwide.. a lot of new potential viewers for WWE…
No. This is drastically less viewers for them.
It's only really US television that make ratings the be all and end all still... most other countries have been slowly transitioning to streaming platforms and catch up services to such a degree that "overnight" ratings mean very very little. The +28 day ratings in the UK for example include streaming and recording versions of episodes, and is therefore a more accurate number to measure viewership. It's time the US joined the rest of us and moved on from traditional television, and instead use streaming for even traditional programming (in the UK using the likes of BBC iPlayer and ITVX to see standard programming).
yeah heard alot of people watch EastEnders on their own time now ect then on the old tv time broadcast ect
This is it yeah @@scotland9922 . People's schedules nowadays just aren't designed to be able to all sit at 7pm and watch a show specifically when told most days of the year. So iPlayer makes things like Eastenders, Doctor Who, Call the Midwife, etc far more accessible and as a result means the way ratings are measured had to be changed.
The only way this sucks is for the fans, like myself that doesn't currently have Netflix and will have to fork over $15 (or more by 2025) to watch a show I've watched since episode one for free. With all the other subscriptions services I currently have, I really don't want to spend MORE money. This is all still a ways away, so Im not freaking out, but I will say from a business standpoint, WWE hit another grand slam from this deal. This just shows how big of a juggernaut WWE is in the Pro Wrestling industry.
Im in Australia, we have binge here, the home of WWE, so nothings going to change besides canceling binge, absolute win for Australia.
This will open the Monday night time slot on cable for the NWA, TNA or AEW to step in for Cable viewers.
Well what are the possibilities for either of them. CW will have Nxt and NWA. TNA needs a better channel on cable TV.
To be honest, for people from Europe like myself this is the best thing ever to happen,.. In Europe they don't really show smackdown, raw and nxt on tv, especially not live, so the fact that it will be added to Netflix (which basically everybody has already) is amazing. I'm so pumped for 2025 already!
So didn't sky sports have wwe tv over there? What about wwe network overseas.
@@jacklepisto1082 sky sports is only available in the UK to my knowledge,.. and the wwe network only has raw, smackdown and nxt episodes a month after having been aired on tv which to me never really made sense because in a space of month a lot can happen and obviously its impossible to go spoiler free for a month haha
maybe this is about those outside us they want to grow . It was easy for USA to watch outside it’s on expensive services and you don’t get everything you still need wwe network for ppv. I think it’s a great move
USA also still has Smackdown .... so it's not a total breakup
Im curious if you dont watch it live how long is that episode of raw sat on netflix for
Smackdown is going to NBC. USA is under NBC 🤔
Edit: I thought Punk's response to "I'm more Punk than you" was the coldest line of that whole promo. The Rock took Punk's opportunity to main event, and now Punk is going to take Cody's opportunity to main event WM. And there's rumors of The Rock swooping in again to face Roman at WM instead. Great rebuttal
Dave went deaf when Punk said that so not his fault 😂
