The Title that Seth has is a totally new title, if nothing else it is the World Heavyweight Tittle. The WWF title which Bruno held was the black belt with the W by the time Roman got it and IT got merged with the Universal Title to make that gold strap. Either way, the title that Roman has is the one with the lineage to Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Stone Cold, etc.
You know what, i like Mark's idea at the end. I'm seeing Dwayne gravitate his personality towards his character Black Adam. Remember, WWE is no different than regular acting. So what i can see is that the Rock is playing Black Adam in WWE, giving himself the spotlight at WM 40 to act as if he's the true and powerful tribal chief (since he is actually in a higher corporate position). Only to change his mind right before the bell rings and Cody Rhodes comes out and Rock becomes special guest referee on the spot. Then Cody Rhodes wins the championship while The Rock and Reigns have the stare down of the century, thus starting their year long feud, bringing everyone in their family throughout the year.

I think if Cody and the Rock are withholding any further details - it's to play on Roman's insecurities and to play on the fans' very real reaction to this - to get the most payoff. If the big ruse is revealed, no one is going to pop when it happens.
Tomorrow in Vegas they better be announcing that The Rock will battle Roman for head of the table (not the title) on night one of Mania and that Cody will battle Roman on Night 2 for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. It would save the WWE from crapping the bed by saying that rock and Cody planned this all along to have the rock take the head of the table from Roman then have Cody take the title. It would definitely play into the narrative of what he said, when Cody said he wanted to take everything from Roman.

It would save the WWE from crapping the bed by saying that rock and Cody planned this all along to have the rock take the head of the table from Roman then have Cody take the title. It would definitely play into the narrative of what he said, when Cody said he wanted to take everything from Roman.
I love Mark Henry the wrestling fan. To be in the business and come out the other side still enjoying it as a fan seems to be pretty rare.

How was he bullied when the fans cheer on the 1st & this past Friday while also chanting “This Is Awesome” but now chant Rocky 3 days later? Roman was shoved down our throats for 6 years remember but it’s OK to shove Cody down the throats of fans that like Roman & The Rock after Cody quit the WWE 2016 but returns after 6 years and wins 2 Rumbles in a row? Dwayne Johnson doesn't need to "deal with" Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania, they're god damn family, he can do it ANY TIME HE WANTS. This is Cody's Wrestlemania moment, of which The Rock had MANY. I heard the people too. On Smackdown The Rock got a bigger pop than the entire WWE rosters combined. I heard the massive pop he got on Raw a month ago when he teased this match. I heard people for years wanting this. Now suddenly people turn on him, their feelings are hurt because Cody wont face Roman and act like Cody is getting screwed, demoted when in fact he is still main eventing WM vs Rollins for a world title.

Better than Bully's scenario is Cody coming out and say the Rock politicked with the board and forced Cody to step aside. This puts it Cody vs the establishment. To me this is the only real way to salvage this.

Bully’s scenario to fix this had some good ideas but it doesn’t justify why The Rock needed this now. The Rock may be 50 but he has all the money and resources to get in great shape for NEXT years Wrestlemania. Not to mention that we all know he’s practically the most powerful man in the company under Ari Emmanuel and can have this match whenever.
Even if The Rock does acknowledge Cody Rhodes, that main event is still going to bomb regardless, and will be met with a similar level of rejection that the main event of Wrestlemania 34 received.
