Bully's idea is great, and even scans with Cody's "I want to take everything from you" line on smackdown. The problem is they had Cody win the rumble and then glare at Roman. So they basically told us we were finally getting the payoff to a 2 year build, and then suddenly pivoted to a match for which two part timers have 2 months to build

I actually really like Bully's story for the Garden finish. Looking ahead, think about how awesome it will be for Cody Rhodes to capture the WWE Title at Madison Square Garden. I would definitely follow this story.

You know what, i like Mark's idea at the end. I'm seeing Dwayne gravitate his personality towards his character Black Adam. Remember, WWE is no different than regular acting. So what i can see is that the Rock is playing Black Adam in WWE, giving himself the spotlight at WM 40 to act as if he's the true and powerful tribal chief (since he is actually in a higher corporate position). Only to change his mind right before the bell rings and Cody Rhodes comes out and Rock becomes special guest referee on the spot. Then Cody Rhodes wins the championship while The Rock and Reigns have the stare down of the century, thus starting their year long feud, bringing everyone in their family throughout the year.
Really enjoyed this. I’m glad I’ve found this channel.

Wow. Bully Ray, your dream scenario of the "Samoan Family" match just raised the hairs on my arms and neck. As a fan of the creative aspect of WWE (most times) I am holding out hope, however miniscule, that this rug-pulling fiasco is just a genius script meant to end up with #WeWantCody versus Reigns. (Your Samoan twist would be f*king awesome!)

He was gassed out against punk in 2013 and got injured at mania's main event that year. Now a decade later, an even buffer and older dwayne can't be expected to pull off what the rock did back in 02-03. This is just a rushed, shove it down your throat storyline with no buildup. My respect for Stone Cold just increased even more after this idiocractic crap

The Title that Seth has is a totally new title, if nothing else it is the World Heavyweight Tittle. The WWF title which Bruno held was the black belt with the W by the time Roman got it and IT got merged with the Universal Title to make that gold strap. Either way, the title that Roman has is the one with the lineage to Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Stone Cold, etc.
Pat McAfee had The Rock on his show last year in September of 2023 and told the world he was supposed to wrestle Roman at WM 39 after meeting with Vince & others. He then said there’s still a chance for WM 40 in Philadelphia. He then shows up on Raw on January 1st and said he wants to sit at the head of the table which means this was damn there a month before the Rumble with it being on January 28th. Please explain how the rock bullied Cody when people were already wishing for this match around Hobbs & Shaw being shot? How was he bullied when the fans cheer on the 1st & this past Friday while also chanting “This Is Awesome” but now chant Rocky 3 days later? Roman was shoved down our throats for 6 years remember but it’s OK to shove Cody down the throats of fans that like Roman & The Rock after Cody quit the WWE 2016 but returns after 6 years and wins 2 Rumbles in a row? Cody lasted 10 years (2006-2016) and quit while Roman (2014-2024) suffered hate that even Cena can’t relate to while becoming a legend in the process & he is supposed to give it up because Cody needs to be shoved down our throats correct?

Tomorrow in Vegas they better be announcing that The Rock will battle Roman for head of the table (not the title) on night one of Mania and that Cody will battle Roman on Night 2 for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. It would save the WWE from crapping the bed by saying that rock and Cody planned this all along to have the rock take the head of the table from Roman then have Cody take the title. It would definitely play into the narrative of what he said, when Cody said he wanted to take everything from Roman.

Bully’s scenario to fix this had some good ideas but it doesn’t justify why The Rock needed this now. The Rock may be 50 but he has all the money and resources to get in great shape for NEXT years Wrestlemania. Not to mention that we all know he’s practically the most powerful man in the company under Ari Emmanuel and can have this match whenever.
Even if The Rock does acknowledge Cody Rhodes, that main event is still going to bomb regardless, and will be met with a similar level of rejection that the main event of Wrestlemania 34 received.
This is the only video that has given me hope for Cody’s story. Absolutely love the way Bully lays all of this out. Crossing my fingers some of this becomes a reality. Cody and Roman holding their belts in the up as they stare each other down at the end of WM40 would be epic.

The only issue with Bully's scenario is Damian Priest and the Money in the Bank briefcase. You know whoever wins, Cody or Seth, is dropping the belt to Damian right after the match.
When this all first happened I felt like this is a way to get a 3 way between Seth/Damian/Drew to get the belt off Seth and let him heal up
They expected Cody to get elevated with this move, that much I'm sure. What WWE didn't expect was the backlash the Rock would get, at least not to the magnitude that it has. My biggest problem with this is that now it's the elephant in the room, and every match, whether Cody is in it or not, will have to suffer the consequences of the fans' backlash. Sure, the talent will be up for the challenge, but I don't think WWE realized how this would move the goalposts for everyone.
The tribute was for the Heavyweight title. The Lou Thesz, Terry Funk, Ric Flair, Ron Simmons, Booker T, etc...

I also read where the reason they did this is because they're trying to make Cody the biggest baby face in WWE history and it seems like it's working. Main event of Mania either needs to be a Triple Threat, or Roman/Rock are Night #1 for Head of the Table and the Tribal Chiefhood. Night #2 is for the belt and the Elder Rock keeps Solo and Jimmy can't interfere, which makes Cody go over.

This is how I felt about Dwayne when he robbed CM Punk out of a WM mainevent in 2012 and 2013.
I think the only way this is salvageble is if the rock turns heel if he wins the title and puts Cody over at SummerSlam.
The fact that everyone into wrestling is only talking about WM40 and is so invested just proves that HHH is brilliantly manipulating this thing to create the maximum amount of hype for it.

Wow first time on this channel and I didn’t realize until the 37 minute mark (the TLC mention) that I’m watching Bubba Ray Dudley, Mark Henry and Dave LaGrecca! (Not that it’s an excuse I’m multitasking and listening more than watching.).
I’ve listened to Don LaGrecca on ESPN radio for 20’years and Dave and Don don’t look that much like brothers but they share the same passion when they speak that it’s unmistakable!

The Rock had an interview on ESPN and basically told them that even though WWE is a global brand he want's to reach more fans than ever before. This is probably why thought Rock and Reigns would be a bigger deal.

It doesn't matter what the WWE branded the belt. The lineage of the WWE title that Roman has is the ACTUAL title. The company can, and does, makeup stuff whatever is convenient at the moment. They could have kept its lineage throughout WCW and it would still be important today as the title held by Ric Flair, Goldberg, DDP, and yes even Hulk Hogan. At one point in history the Big Gold Belt was the title on the most watched wrestling program in the world (83 weeks, in fact).
