    Mike I’m working on a really kool hand cleaner for the trade that easily removes lettering enamel residue from your fingernails, I always hated being mistaken for a mechanic at Resturaunt, and had to explain that “ I’m an Artist”

    I use the font system on an Apple Mac, print it out and blow it up to the stencil size required on an epidiascope. The letters are perfect scale for anything from a transit door to a 42ft. tautliner...using modern equipment with traditional skills...keep it interesting and the job gets done quicker.

    Thanks for this! I use chalk markers on the back of my drawings to get the same effect when transferring the image. The chalk markers are a bit neater to work with.

    What kind of lettering paint should we use on a primered vintage truck?
    Its not painted, just red polished primer with a 2500 grid sand paper.

      Paint thinner {which is 100% mineral spirits but cheaper] For good work use 1-Shot reducers.

    What kind of paintbrush is used to get long fine lines when lettering?

    • @londonsignwriter
      @londonsignwriter 8 років тому

      It's called a liner or rigger. A little longer than a normal writing chisel brush.

      @@a.s.handover3167 Getting the books converted to PDF downloads would helpful for overseas customers. Postage makes it not viable, when the postage costs you multiple times more than the actual products you're trying to ship.

    i loved the video tutorial!! I have a little question....I have seen that for gold leaf some people use enamel paint?? Would the white enamel from 1 shot brand work as a gilding size if i wanna use gold leaf (for lettering) well in my case i cant afford to buy the real gold leaf ones. But how effective would the enamel be as a glue? THanks in advance.
