This is a truly informative video. Re: Mike Corbin seat(s) - over the years I had three custom seats from them and it's a 5⭐️ operation. They're located in the Castroville/Salinas area. The wonderful thing about them is that if you can ride to their shop, they will contour the seat while you wait; you can go for a ride in the area, and if it needs tweaking, they'll take it apart - contour it and cover it again. I had one seat for a ZX-11 whose factory seat was too soft and didn't provide it rider feedback - the new one addressed that. For a Ducati, I wanted one that was thin as a plank and a few millimeters narrower than factory. They are really good, and the seats are made right there. Thanks for this video.
I rode up to Corbin in Ormond Beach and ordered a seat for my 939. I can't wait for it to get here cuz the stock seat on this 2016 is unbearable for long rides however the riding position doesn't make my tailbone hurt like my KLR does. Slouching on this bike is not easy
Good to see. I’m 5’8 but with short legs. I’d love the SP but I’m leaning towards the standard model (or the RVE). I also think maybe the Ohlins would be overkill for me/a bit harsh on the street.
This is video I’ve been hoping for, a vertically challenged guy like myself at 5’5 there isn’t many good bike options. Its really discouraging when looking at bikes you love but can’t comfortably ride, or ride with true confidence.
Hi- I hope all is well. Three weeks ago I rodeo Mike Corbin in Hollister. Five hours later I rode away on a custom seat that has totally changed the riding experience. I feel/ride more planted, so I feel like I'm one with the bike and not merely sitting atop it. The very friendly crew at Corbin aim to please.
Awesome video! I've got the standard 950 (as if anything is standard for this bike :D) and the comfort seat and I must say, it is definitely an upgrade I wouldn't want to miss. That is of course if you got the height to support the heightened seat, for me at 6'2 it's great. But even with the comfort seat, any tour / ride over 3 hours definitely needs a break and a seat not slicing your butt in half :P
I am exactly 5'8. The lowered seat is a must, trust me. You will not regret getting this bike, it is a blast to ride. Let me know if I can answer any question regarding the bike. I was where you are at this time last year and haven't regretted my decision. Thank you for commenting, ride safe.
Great question, I thought about doing that as well when I got it, but I never got a chance to take it to check. I really just got used to the lower seat. But would really like to know as well. The OEM seat for sure you cannot shave any. Please let me know if you do find out. Thanks for commenting.
@@myhypermotard8351 Sometimes height may be misleading. I mean a 5 8" with a 30" inseam may find the seat height tall but a 5 8" with a 32" inseam may be ok. One important thing also before messing with a genuine seat is to secure that after fiddling with it it will remain waterproof if it is already is. I will let you know if I get to know about the low seat.
I know, the mic is so sensitive that I can sometimes hear myself swallowing. I guess I need to move it further away , it’s actually under my shirt. Thanks for commenting.

Thank you for replying to my request about the seat👍🏻

I totally understand that feeling. The good thing is that there are lots of other great options. Keep looking, I’m sure you’ll find one th fits you.

Yeah, that OEM seat is pretty stiff. Thanks for commenting, ride safe.
Love this video! Exactly what I'm looking for. Do you know if you can shave down the lowered Ducati seat even more?
I took it to a guy that shaves seats and he said no. It would be left with no padding.
I really like your videos as they're super useful! 👊🏾
Great video ..I’m strongly considering this bike with the low seat. I’m 5’8 How tall are you?

You should have ridden it with the stock and the lowered seat.that wouod have shown us idea of what you were saying
Thanks for the video. 👍
Glad you liked it, thanks for commenting..
Hey mate Im thinking of getting wone of these bikes for a allrounder, would the lower seat be OK for touring on, want do you think.
I used the lower seat all the time, it’s very comfortable.
Great Video 👍

IS it hard to replace the battery on the hypermotard?
No, it is very easy to take out.
I’m 5’11 you think I have to buy a seat ?
Thank you
It really depends on you and how you feel on it. You should be ok.
@@myhypermotard8351 Thanks for the feedback
Do you think there is enough margin to shave 10mm from the low seat?

@@alpap1980 It should remain water proof if you keep the same cover which is what they normally do.
will the lower seat fit on the normal version?
It should.
I had to go lowered on mine..
Also sp is higher, from normal 950
True, I wish the sp was a little lower.
And what if also the seat you modify the rear suspesion, maybe more soft
My suspension is very soft now, it would be too soft if I do more.

I don't know much about that one, so I can't really comment on that seat.
