Hi Maureen: Ian Bell has this tune and several others of Jack's on his Ontario Traditional Music Library website. If you're not in touch with him, I know he would love it: Ian.bell@sympatico.ca. I had the honour of occasionally sitting in on Jack's square dance class in Toronto in the 70s. btw, lovely playing Anahata.
@@annelederman1741 Hi Anne - I don't know why I hadn't seen this before - thanks for posting and I have indelible memories of that evening dance we played for (along with Ian Bell) at Port Dover. 2013 - a long time ago now, but exquisite and quite unforgettable!
Utterly BRILLIANT!!
I'll never be able to play it, but it's wonderful to hear !!👍👍
You are the best I have heard so far. 😊 Thank you for some fond memories. Jack Hayes was my father. 😊🇨🇦
Maureen: Thank you - that's made my day!
@@anahatamelodeon well you certainly made mine. 😊🇨🇦

@@anahatamelodeon I agree. Wonderful night and it was great to meet you both. All the best.
Love it!!! Thanks for the upbeat tune & your enlivening interpretation of it!!!
A nice, cheerful tune, well performed !
Sounds like a tune that would be played for fun.Noþa shanty which is a work tune
As a jig, it's a dance tune, so it's definitely about having fun. Shanties are sung, so they are quite different anyway.
