      Yeah I'm pretty sure they just scrubbed extra hard on the product that's labeled "beauty blender cleaner" and half-assed the soap. Just wash the dirty beauty blender with soap until there is no more makeup its that simple.

      Kill my Joy Gerard this video is ridiculous, no one does one squeeze to clean a damn beauty blender. any one of those products up there can thoroughly clean a beauty blender with just 2 to 3 washes. this video is sooo bias to the beautyblender cleaning products it's ridiculous.

      Wait so then what would be cleaning it?

    • @latishabrown801
      @latishabrown801 7 років тому +51

      Tyler Angel Getting a bowl of hot water, adding antibacterial dish detergent & a little alcohol, baking soda or astringent & squeezing it & lathering it in the palms of your hands in & out of the mixture till clean, empty dirty water, add mixture again & repeat. Rinse in water & alcohol or water & astringent or baking soda, give it several good squeezes & air dry. DO THIS UNTIL YOUR MIXTURE ISN'T DIRTY ANYMORE AS YOU CLEAN YOUR SPONGE. Done.

    • @NemuriNezumi94
      @NemuriNezumi94 8 років тому +11

      Erica M789 already thought it was a bit strange in the video... they must have not put much effort while trying to wash it then, hence why it didn't work (cuz applying product and just squishing the thing under the water imo is not what you would actually call "clean" it)
      but thanks for telling me this! I love Johnson's baby products and I was a tad disappointed with the video

    • @NemuriNezumi94
      @NemuriNezumi94 8 років тому +4

      Kim D. exactly! when I watched the video I was like "ehhh, really? strange" because I personally know how great the products are xD (but like, I never used it to clean make-up so I wasn't sure if it was true or not)

    • @Snelm

    I went to a Beauty Blender launch event a few years ago when they came out with the sponge, and from the company reps themselves "The Beauty Blender sponge should not be used in combination with any oil-based or alcohol-based cleansers. Additionally, cleansing with soap will only clean out makeup - not bacteria. To quickly kill bacteria, placed your saturated sponge in a microwave-safe bowl with enough water that the blender is floating, and microwave for 30 seconds." I have had the same beauty blender for a few years and this has not damaged my sponge, melted it, or broken me out. Do NOT do the oil method shown here

    To make me trust this video a little more you need to have more controlled factors such as: the exact same amount of foundation applied to the beauty blender relatively the same way also, and for the liquid soaps you would need to use the same exact measurements used to wash each one while also exposing them to water for the same amount of time.

    • @FireCracker3240
      @FireCracker3240 8 років тому +3

      I was actually thinking the same thing, so I'm glad someone said it! These are six different sponges from the same person... or different people? Depending on the type of foundation that is used, some clean out better than others. Also, if the sponge was used 10 times as opposed to 30 times, that would also affect how well it cleans. I think the thing to do is just test a few and see which one works best for YOUR makeup routine.

    I'm bothered by this. Several of these products will work fine (esp. the castille soap, baby shampoo and dove) -- as long as you use the right technique. Simply squirting the cleansers on, then squeezing a few times isn't gonna be enough to break down the chemical structures of the gunk inside the BB, and often the cleansers are so thick, they're not gonna get into the BB's pores well enough. These cleansers need to be diluted with some warm water, left to soak for a few minutes, AND THEN squeezed and rinsed repeatedly. The warm, soapy water helps break down the makeup, and cuz it's more viscous it gets through the pores more. It also helps to take a clean BB, put it onto a shallow bowl of water, and microwave for about 15 secs to kill of bacteria.

    I found that a Laundry bar soaps work best without having to splurge on the solid beauty blender soap. Zote is a good brand and even any variety of laundry soap bars will work! Plus they're under $3! Its at least worth trying, in my opinion.

    • @miriamsokora4554
      @miriamsokora4554 7 років тому

      You might want to stick to something like a more natural bar soap because Zote has a lot of chemicals and even when you wash it out it still has a residue on there so you might not want to put that on your face.

    Where do you put your beauty blender after you wash it? I use to have to lay them on my dresser on a towel until they dried until the “beauty blender holder” kind of thing came up as a suggestion on Amazon. This is so cute! The metal is very eye catching. It gets compliments from everyone who sees it! I love that I can display my beauty blender and keep it clean while it dries. Hoping to buy more for friends.

      When I used shampoo it didn't do anything. Lush's soap bar gets rid of all of the stains :)

      Just about any soap would work if you try hard enough.

      I agree. If they applied most of the cleansers more than once then it would've been completely clean. The thing with BuzzFeed is that their videos have to be under 2 minutes unless it's an inspirational story or poem

      +Katharine McDonald well you prob don't clean them right either . I loooove cleaning my brushes and sponges and I make sure they don't have product on them so they look like how I bought them . I literally cleaned my sponge after this and it looks like I just bought it . It really isn't hard .

    In my experience, regular old bar soap really gets the job done - my beauty blender looks brand new after a few minutes. It's a super cheap way too, I just use Irish Spring bar soap and it works just as well as the solid cleanser imo

    Baby shampoo works just fine thank you. I use aquaphore & stuff was still coming out of the sponge by the third time I put soap on. You have to wash it properly to get it all out.
