    I have just ordered two Dacia Jogger Hybrid Extremes for my business. We cart a lot of beer around owning nightclubs so this was perfect for London. Also if you have this you don't have to worry about being banned from the royal parks unlike panel vans which are. We plan to take the third row of seats out to give more room. We test drove ours around Staples Corner in London, for people who know that area.. it's a traffic nightmare. We never heard the engine cut in but we did floor it on the North Circular and it was still quiet. It does what it says on the tin, it's the car people really want but without all the bells and whistles. It cost £25,400 with the option Cedar Green paint (White looks horrible and cheap) so opt for anything but white if you can. Also opt for the six year plan so you'll get it fixed if it goes wrong.
    If you compare the Jogger to the Renault version, it's a no brainer. £25k or £39K for a Renault equivalent. Yes, there are some scratchy plastics but who cares, a quick wipe down with a wet cloth will sort that out. The seats are a bit hard, but nothing a cushion can't sort out, but they are heated. Also the parking camera, blind spot indicator and radar at the front is handy. The rear view is limited when parking but it has an excellent parking system where the camera moves the track lines in conjunction with the steering wheel. I have never had a petro/electro before so it was a bit odd to start with using the "B" mode on gearbox, but I am sure I saw 68.5mpg on the computer!
    Also the sales staff were not pushy and insisted we took it out on our own. If you are gong from a small car to this (which many are doing). it does not feel that big as you are high up. Seating position is excellent. I am amazed Dacia has not made proper van versions of this as it would sell like hotcakes in London.
    If you want to make it look like a army truck go for Khaki Green! To be honest, go for the Extreme for the extra bucks, it's still cheaper than a Ford Fiesta!

      Minus point.... 4 to 6 month waiting list!

      @@BunkerLondonAll good things come to those who wait. At least that's true for Hybrids. 10 months wait for my Corolla Touring, and it's definitely worth it. It's like a spaceship on wheels compared to the old Mégane Diesel. And more reliable (At least I sure hope so).

      @@0bzen22Wish you a good luck! Have had before 2 brand new Toyotas (AVENSIS) and then no problem at all! After I had tried to get an entry to the superior class as VOLVO XC60, brand new and got the problems! 5 issues in 2 years (the car was left for the dealer repairs). So, now I am driving Mazda CX-5 and really happy!

      why are they banning panel vans in royal parks?

    • @BunkerLondon
      @BunkerLondon 10 місяців тому

      It's a very old By-Law that vans are banned from Royal Parks and CEPC. Royal parks are in affect private roads and you are only permitted to drive through or park. @@todorkolev7565

    Great review. Only time will tell how reliable it is. Unlike Toyota who have refined their hybrids for about two decades so they are now bullet proof, Renault / Dacia are pretty newbies in the hybrid arena. The concern is that the car will prove to be unreliable until they master the technique.

      Thank you!
      If yo want a strong indication of how reliable a car is, it's worth checking a few reliability index sites.

      It's using the Renault Austral hybrid set up, can't be any other. That's a lot of tech you are getting at a knockdown price. Does the job.

    Keeps on saying 55MPG is really good.....if Dacia released it with the 1.5DCi it would be doing 60+MPG without the 6k mark up on the price.

      Good point! It is true a diesel would be more fuel efficient, but many people can't run diesels nowadays thanks to higher tax (company car drivers) or, for example, more expensive parking costs. For them, we quite like the hybrid's performance 😆

    • @0bzen22
      @0bzen22 11 місяців тому +4

      Diesels need to be driven. Especially Renault's, which are direct injection. You have carbon fouling issues, FAP issues, EGR issues. And then, add to it, AdBlue issues on some other models. Modern diesels aren't made for the city or short trips. Hybrids are.
      The Dacia Hybrid has an old school 1.6 petrol with port injection, timing chain, auto gearbox. Granted, it may not be worth the premium, but these days, if I need a runabout, I wouldn't go diesel. If I need a motorway cruiser, a diesel will be much more economical.
      I went with a Corolla Touring 2.0l from a Megane 1.5 DCI Estate 2014. I just got it (200 miles), the fuel Economy, doing mixed journeys, is slightly better (maybe 5%). In city, it is better. Haven't had time to assess exactly how much.
      If I had to choose between a brand new diesel or a hybrid, it would come down to the type of usage. A hybrid suits me, I don't do long motorway journeys anymore.

    I think Dacia is going along the same route as Skoda , once upon a time they were just a cheap Skoda and now they are one of the best reliable cars . Roll on Dacia.

    I have owned a SE Extreme hybrid since June, I was fortunate enough to get wireless mirroring, so i get wireless Android Auto . The downsides , are that the A Pillars are obstructive at junctions, i think middle section leg room isn't the best . I struggle getting in as the front is lower, being a Sandero front. BUT the car is very practical. The other day i took a rear seat out, got 6 in the car, with a child seat . Two up front, three in the middle, two adults and a child in a car seat and one at the back . With the seat out, left me room for a 44 litre electric cooler and a big bag and a light weight pram . Not many cars i could do that with

    Ordered mine in April, should be delivered to the dealer by October. This excellent review is like the others I've watched/read over the past few months and I'm pleased to say I haven't seen a bad one yet. Looking forward to it's arrival (I sound a bit like an expectant father!!!) but wondering whether to extend the warranty so that when it potentially comes to reselling it, there's a warranty in place.

      Have you families? With only air bags in the front & your kids in the rear, having a side impact at 30-40mph may cause fatalities or very serious injuries. It's great value but air bags all round is a must. Lane Assistance doesn't matter unless you're drunk but the former does.

    Thanks for a great review! Just ordered a Jogger hybrid Extreme. Currenty I have a hybrid Suzuki Swace (Toyota Corolla).
    If you know how to drive these self charging hybrids you can can fantastic economy - my Suzuki gives me 65/75 + Very soft on the throttle i`ve even had 99.9 mpg on a 10 mile journey!!! The only thing I will miss on the top spec Jogger is a heated steering wheel but with heated seats so what - can`t have everything.

      Why are you going from Toyota Corolla hybrid to the Dacia jogger hybrid? I am trying to chose between those two at the moment. Thx

    • @Principal45
      @Principal45 Рік тому

      They are both great (and similar) cars in size and power - estate hybrids. The Swace has just had a power increase with the electric motor to 140 bhp same as Jogger - my reasons to change were not because of the Swace but to do with a bad PCP contract. The Swace is super reliable and fuel efficient and great comfort. I would recomend a test drive in both!@@Silizium8

      I went for latest 5th gen Corolla. It has uprated motor and battery that is the best version yet - Toyota have been perfecting hybrid systems since 2005. No manufacturer knows more about them. Suggest looking at the What Car review of the Jogger Hybrid - they found it couldn’t better the fuel consumption of the 1.0 which is 45-50 which is disappointing really. Also crucial which is just plain wrong here is the main middle row of the Jogger. We tested one and there was plenty to like but fact is my 15 year old couldn’t fit in the back without his knees pressed against the driver seat. The middle seats really need to slide but they don’t. There simply isn’t enough space for any moderately tall folk in this car which is a shame because it would be rectified with the adjustability you get on equivalent Scenics say.
      But that plus economy no better than an efficient ICE ruled it out for us.

      Curious as to why going from Swace to Jogger as well. IMO, a better hybrid. Resale value? Interior space? Power? Issues?

    So MPG??? what happened to that report. So far I've heard 17mpg when your rag it, but what happens when you don't'??

  • @seltaeb3302
    @seltaeb3302 5 місяців тому

    17mpg isn't that great but that was too little test, you'd need doing 60mph on open road & 70mph on mway for a truer picture. What hybrid system is this? Engine & bty drive wheels or engine only charges bty. Suspect the former which the Austral uses. It has one big mistake & thats not having air bags all around, it matters a lot & if I had a family I wouldn't buy it reluctantly.

  • @ridehead8771
    @ridehead8771 3 місяці тому

    17mpg not too bad lol, this guy is funny. It's a petrol, all petrol engines drink fuel. Diesel is the way to go if you want economical 7 seater period.

  • @hugovanherck5437

    Again a completely unrealistic consumption test.

    • @seltaeb3302
      @seltaeb3302 5 місяців тому

      Yup, 17mph is awful, that's Ferrari territory. You need a couple hours open road 60mph & mway 70mph for a true pic. 17mpg!

      We don't get commission for selling Dacia Joggers or any car for that matter so there's no need for us to make a sales pitch. They're just such good cars and we'd recommend them because our priority is customer satisfaction.
