I have the Pecute backpack (the third one reviewed), and I’ve taken my cat with me on trips for the past six months. We’ve been camping and hiking with this backpack to Glacier, Yellowstone, the Badlands, state parks in KY and TN and stayed in loads of Hilton hotels bc they take cats. We’ve also used it to go to the vet several times. (My indoor only cat is 15 years old, but super healthy, and she’s great as long as she’s with her mommy, lol. She imprinted on me when I adopted her at 4 weeks old.) Unfortunately it’s started to rip at two of the corners so I just ordered the Navigator in the new Earth color. Yesterday my kitty and I did a three hour difficult hike in TN with the Pecute bag and scrambling over boulders and cliff walking didn’t phase her, but my back was killing me after from the Pecute pack so it was time to upgrade.
All of these backpacks look really great but I think that the second and third of the cat backpacks are better but the last one would probably be the pick Thank You for another great video of your reviews which I really like and I hope you have a Very Merry Christmas at Cats and Kittens.❤🐾🐱😻😽🐾❤
Is the navigator airline compliant underseat? My adult, male, 7 year old cat is big too at around 15 pounds - black and white (tuxedo?) and I’ve been looking for a versatile backpack for him. We are going to go from Japan yo California and I’m a first time ever cat owner. I just rescued him and we are bonded. He is very sweet. Was looking for an updated cat backpack review that i can purchase on Amazon.
The first backpack I ever bought my cat was the third Pecute one and I really liked it for the first 6 months that I had it until the front plastic window part eventually cracked and now it's unusable unfortunately. So that's the con with that one.
Any issue with heat/airflow? I decided to change my order to the mesh version after some have claimed it wasn’t as great for warmer weather and for casts that are shy
They are different! Pecute is a great all-rounder but Apollo is also good enough for most, especially if it's for occassional use. If you plan on hiking with your cat regularly, get the Navigator! It's more expensive but well worth it.
Travel cat items are soooo overpriced for what you really get.. and they brag about it being a woman-owned business but it's not? It was founded by a woman and her husband? Then they brag about the thousands of good reviews online... but when you go online and dig up a bit, they have an overwhelming amount of negative reviews as well and nowhere as many good reviews as they claim to have? Big no thanks for me.

When you are serious hiking the Navigator wins hands down. Good call. Might be worth raising the issues with Pecute as well.

Max weight recommendation and size (Apollo)?
Are there any cheaper alternatives to a backpack similar to the navigator?
Not really. It's the cream of the crop!

I believe it is but it does depend on each airline so you're best to check.

Good to know. Mine has lasted more than 3 years with no issues so far.

Can I fit my 8.7 kg cat into Apollo backpack?
Yes you should be able to.
Even though that's a big kitty..
