just bought both DLC packs for the game and yep this is officially the toughest boss in the game for me i was glad to beat phase 2 only to fight a crazy bitch with no estus and almost no hp i have been fighting her for almost 7 hours now and can't get close...............
Rishuraj Singh Nope nk is not just "easy" he is a hard "darksouls" boss while freide is a "bloodborne" boss. If anyone had their BB character this boss would be a piece of cake. But miyazaki decided to be a lazy ass and add a BB boss for this game. And i am not talking about first and second phase. First one is just a parry and backstap for me. Second is is same if i gone for freide, hit and run for the father
burak Harmancı Did you not finish your comment? It looks a bit cut-off, and you didn't talk about the third phase. Anyway, I can infer well enough to see where you are going with this. In my opinion, third phase is nowhere near as unfair as some people make it out to be. I recently did a SL 1 no upgrades run, and while Freide was way harder than the majority of the main game, other bosses were way harder than her. It is really just whole lot of running around fishing for backstabs. In that regard, second phase was the hardest for me, as you really can't afford to let Freide heal Ariandel. While she may seem unfairly fast, like a BB boss, that is really not the case. Basically all her combos leave her open for a backstab. That alone makes the fight a whole lot more manageable.
The thing that From Software screwed with her and The Nameless King is that you have to always play the previous phases until you get bored of doing the same shit just to get killed every five minutes. That is a waste of time. That's one of the many reasons i consider the Orphan of Kos the hardest, fair and enjoying boss at the same time of all Soulsborne.
@@TheJunkShot Kos was Bs he wasnt tough like Nameless who is my favorite souls boss if you'll remove sekiro and Ludwig nk is very fair he has highly telegraphed attacks whom you can easily dodge its just a very fair fight Kos however likes to call lightning from nowhere and likes to attack aswell With that lightning
@@lusuolan4071 noooooo I don't get it yeah people have their own opinions but imo gael was nothing special it actually felt like I was fighting artorias in Ds3 and artorias imo is one of my favourite boss I liked Nameless King more than him tho
2nd phase is way much easier if u actually avoid the chick and focus on the father...after he rushes u, u can get 4-5 hits in and then run...repeat just always lure him away from the chick...beat him without getting hit ounce.
yeah that's the easiest part of the fight for sure, if you stay near him friede just spams frost at you and misses and he is the easiest guy in the world to dodge and hit. I wish I could skip that part if I'm honest, it feels like more of a chore to just get through the first two stages before the actual bossfight happens
Friede sometimes likes to stick herself up Ariandel's ass so your focusing the father strategy doesn't always work. Also you still need to pay attention to Friede in case she starts healing.
I found that to be true when playing as a melee build, but as a pyromancer it seems locking on to freide and hurling chaos vestiges is way easier, the fat dude is actually really slow and the second phase kind of reminds me of O&S
@@DJ-rf9yq that s the problem, 90% of the dark souls players are shield huggers or easy peasy long range mage/pyro players. Once u mastered parry the game gets a lot easier, Sister friede is parryable in phase 1 and 3, giving you a counter hit + a charged attack when she gets up. That s like 10x the dmg you get done in one combo instead of panic rolling around like a monkey holding a controller and spamming heal cuz u traded half ur hp for 1 or 2 hits on her
Schwarzflamme Friede has much similarity with Lady Maria from Bloodborne. Whoever has conquered Lady Maria should also come to terms with your third phase. Phase 1 and 2 are relatively simple. If you can not make it by yourself, you can summon the Arena Gael before leaving for the fight, then phase 2 when father Ariandel gets angry
I usually don't comment but THANK YOU SO MUCH, after learning her telegraphs I killed her in just 2 tries (man I love dying when the boss is at 1 hit). Again, thank you, if you know her attacks she is actually not that bad, I was just overwhelmed
Ruined why? (Im just curious to know other peoples opinion on this boss fight). I honestly hate this fight because it has three fases. The last phase is the hardest and its horrible that you have to go through the first phases just to get familiarized with her third phase move set. I think that 2 phases would have been enough.
Same dude. I'm never doing this dlc again and only time I'll go is just to kill her before the boss fight. After I finish this dlc at least once I'm seriously never completing it again
worst boss in this game imo not only its it stupidly difficult at times but by phase 3 you are so bored you just die from lack on concentration due to phase 2 being so picky about when you can hit
For my ultra great sword users out there struggling with hitting her on time. I found that in the third stage when she's doing her spin combos, if you back up and try to meet her halfway by doing a heavy attack (for me it's the overhead slash with the Great sword) you can stop her combo and stagger her, if you want you can do a light attack right after to stagger her once more but after that I advise to back off. And just keep doing that, wait for her brief pauses between attacks and try to plant a heavy attack in there, swing quickly with a light attack, and save stamina to dodge back out and recharge. Rinse and repeat.
will parkes same. Her first 2 phases are kinda easy since she killed me about 20 times and i memorize her moves then i get raped every time in her 3rd form.
I had to confess, I do not get any good advice other than keep calm. I just listened to the video when I tried to kill her in my low level twink, and I was getting fucked with this urge kills, but with your calm voice you helped me keep mine calm and finally kill her ... thanks, my guy with a beautiful voice
OK, so I just beat her, here's a good strategy: equip Storyteller's Staff and another heavy-hitting weapon (I went with the Farron Greatsword just cuz), as well as some kind of throwing knife (I went with the Church Guardian Shiv because it seeks Friede out and it is the most visible of the knives, though it does use FP) Evade her attacks and wait for your opening to wail on her like normal, periodically sticking her with a throwing knife cuz it's kinda hard to tell when she decides to go invisible. Once she does just keep track of that knife and knock her out silly. This phase shouldn't be too hard. 2nd phase, forget about Friede almost completely and focus on the Father, jumping out of the frost attacks in time when she does them. First thing, bring out your Storyteller's Staff and cast the Poison Spores skill, which does an incredible amount of damage to bosses over time. Then keep your distance from either Ariandel or Friede, getting an attack or two in when you can but never getting greedy. The poison should take out most of their health within a few minutes. 3rd phase, pretty much the same as the first phase, only worse. Advise in this video is pretty good on 3rd phase, it's how I got through. Also, get gud at dodging because if she grabs you with that overhead guillotine grab YOU'RE DEAD unless you're really high level or invested heavily into health
Dude...I have fought this bitch 12 times now. I get her to the third phase then she just unleashes the fires of hell on me. I just dont understand the three phase nonsense like yes, Dark Souls is notoriously hard and that makes it a game for hardcore players...I get it. This, THIS is absolute nonsense like I just want to be done with this DLC so I can move on to the next and... ya know...fucking finish the god damn series that I've been patiently awaiting. This bitch, Aldrich and the Farron soldier are EASILY the hardest fights in the game.
How the hell do you get them to separate?? For me they're always together no matter what I do. If I attack the father during that, the bitch will just come to stab me and if I hit the bitch the father will do some bullshit... And when I actually win that fight after 10 minutes of just running around to not get killed, the third phase hits like a truck and there's 0 openings for hitting her or getting estus :/ every time I try to hit she instantly jumps backwards
I would honestly rather have every boss be of around the difficulty of witches of hemwick rather than 1 mandatory boss like this... worst boss in soulborne imo
I just go for the father, since he staggers then you can get a clean critical on him, and all she does is shoot ice and sometimes gets close and slices, she’s pretty easy to dodge, and I sometimes just ignore her healing thing so I can stagger the dude in time then kill before the heal is useful
@@lusuolan4071 Congrats! I'm struggling with Friede myself at Level 111. Most of my points went to Faith and Int though since I was experimenting with my build.
Shaffan Mustafa thanks If you have a lot points in faith then you should spam dorhy’s gnaw on father ariandel in the second phase. It drains the health bar in 8 or 9 hits. Gnaw makes the second phase easier than the first phase because of ariandel’s weakness to bleed.
For sorc or pyromancer its easier to go for the father in phase two. You can dps them down and ignore/interrupt the heals as needed/possible. Struggle on phase three though lol
I honestly don't think this boss is bad because of the three phases. It's shitty because her teleporting is BS in the first phase and her dark damage is rickdonkulous in the third phase. She also has like 50% more health in phase 3 and the second phase is already exhausting. This boss fight has a lot of potential to be great but, it feels unfair due to how butt fucking she is in her final phase. Maybe lower her health in the final phase. Maybe just keep it to the two phases. OR have her in her third phase mode in the second phase. She's super easy to back stab, yet I've noticed its not consistent. And doing all these phases over and over feels awful after a few tries and getting real close to beating her. Sure, Nameless is annoying that you have to fight the dragon over and over. However, he doesnt really feel that unfair because of his highly telegraphed moves and the dragon is a joke with a powerful lightning weapon. Plus, you get dragonslayer armor after beating him, and it feel's awesome going through NG+ as, Ornstien with the spearsword.
form software run out of idea ? serious shit 3 phase with 4 boss to beat . i try to solo many time only can beats the 2nd phase..i don't summon npc or join cooperation. i beats every souls games boss with solo. but this is way too much @@@
I managed to beat her after like 30 tries, but it didnt help that I was doing her on Newgame +5 XD!, but actually fully enjoyed the boss, it was a challange compared to when the game came out, I beat all but 3 Bosses first time, Dancer, Princes and the Arch Dragon, everything else was easy to beat, so very much enjoyed the challange.
I actually payed more attention to the father in phase 2, he is weak to fire and I had the onyx blade so why not? Made that a little easier and thought I had won. Then phase 3 came.
Worse boss in the series IMO. But then again i hate bosses that come back to full health. (Namless king exception) and this bitch comes back *THREE* Fucking times.
been at this boss for two days now and i cant beat her, so infuriating. she moves nonstop when i fight her in the third phase. who designed this bs??? lol
Yep, i struggle at even beating the 1st phase ,, gotta pass on this boss/area and just enjoy watching other people play it rest of the Painted World area.
I'm new to from games and im hooked I ran through bloodborne I absolutely loved it but I dont understand how everybody says it's harder lady Maria is a name I see a lot first play through ever took 2 trys but I just died 20 times in a row to sister freida
Ive beaten every boss in Soulsborne and the majority on first try with the handful in each game at around 3-5 attempts. But funny thing is there are 2 bosses I still cant beat after 2 years and multiple playthroughs and easily 2-300 solo attempts each. They both happen to be in DS3! Sister Friede and Nameless King! I can get Sister halfway through phase 3 than it goes to hell than I will have a few tries that I cant even beat phase 1 anymore. Level 95 +10 all weapons. I tried everything! Seem to do my best with Javelin spear with carthus rouge or dragonslayer spear. Tried skinny builds with fast roll up to tank builds and everything in between. Ibjust cant do these 2 fights no matter how good I do, I make 1 mistake and flawless 15 minute long Friede fight down the tubes. NK is just so infuriating and same shit with him. Sometimes I make it deep than next 5 fughts I cant even get through the wyvern phase. I'm seriously so pissed off cus for 2 years ive had 2 bosses holding me back from 100% the whole damn series! Friede just has too much health in phase 3 for all her capabilities and especially after 3 phases. Seriously the fight is so damn long and difficult and they give her like double hp in her phase 3 too? No matter the weapon I do shit damage in her phase 3. 2-350 damage per hit and she has like 7k+ hp in phase 3 alone. Im losing my mind over this and I even tried summoning Gael once and that was a mistake since he just stands at there feet and eats a bowl of fire over and over!
Easiest way to beat her is strength build with a heavy hard hitting weapon and just trade because the window to counter attack is just too small. It’s better to trade with this boss than to waste time for a split second opportunity that she will probably just dodge and disappear like a little bitch.
you do know you can parry her in phase 1 and 3? makes the fight A LOT easier, so many people play DS3 and don t know how to parry and isntead just spamm panic roles, it s insane.
So much wrong with this boss. I am level 80 and have heavy armor and poured alot into my vigor (health) and I am guzzling my estus. I can buy her but she is do relentless for every single hit I get on her 3 come back at me. The first phase is tough but after the first few times dying you get used to it, as much as you can, as this boss is RIDDLED with rng, which is pretty shit design. Her invisible move is the most annoying thing ever. Any way, the second phase is easier, just stick on the big dude, but sometimes, a massive wave of ice that deals normal damage, frost damage, and then blows up and damages you can roll on up and nearly one shot you. But, it is not as bad the first. Than, the third phase stumbles on in and puts the shit cherry on the shit frosting which is the boss on this shit cake of a dlc. Honestly, this is one of if not the worst boss battle I have ever played. Doesn't hold a candle to the demon king (the boss battle to get to the ringer city). Just my opinion.
I’ve been dying to hit box bullshit. She’s also way too fucking fast for dark souls, she’s belongs in Bloodborne. I just parry first phase but am STILL taking damage. Her combos are way too fucking long for me to dodge to the point where I have to resort to blocking but then rip my fucking stamina then I get completely assfucked What the fuck is this boss?
Their is a major difference between Hard and Stupid. This boss fight is purely bullshit. It's not hard it's just stupid. I've gotten to phase 3 many times but her move sets are terrible. The invisible/grab is the absolute worst of them all. This boss is definitely number 1 on the worst boss of all time in the souls series
What moves do you struggle with? I thought the same way you did too. I was yelling about how unfair it was for her to go Invisible and do a bunch of AOE attacks but once I picked up on where she moved while invisible I was able to turn her BS attack into my advantage because I knew exactly where she was gonna show up and stopped her. I actually beat her because she went invisible, such irony 😅
First try p3, after watching your guide and seeing her vulnerable moments. Thanks! Awful boss, considering how fucking long it takes to just make it to p3 again and practice it.
Gael is COMPLETELY USELESS!!! He doesn’t show up until phase 2 - if you even survive that long! - and ALWAYS dies at the start of phase 3! Who hell comes up with bosses like these?! She catches me in those invisible sweeps and head grabs 100% of the time too, so how are you dodging those?
Lets make a boss that can hit you even if she's staggered... GrEaT IdEa

Killed here while also dying. Beat her nonetheless😭 best fromsoft bossfight ever ❤
I actually payed more attention to the father in phase 2, he is weak to fire and I had the onyx blade so why not? Made that a little easier and thought I had won. Then phase 3 came.
Worse boss in the series IMO.
But then again i hate bosses that come back to full health. (Namless king exception) and this bitch comes back *THREE* Fucking times.
i can't do this fight
You can do it!
Did you put an uchigatana in the right hand slot and the onikiri and ubadachi in the left hand slot just so that it looked cool? Petty if you did.
You got me. :o)
Haha cool
Lol instead to look cool he could use the Uchigata to parry and punish her with rip post
been at this boss for two days now and i cant beat her, so infuriating. she moves nonstop when i fight her in the third phase. who designed this bs??? lol
So is using heavy armor like smoughs armor or Havels armor with the dragon slayers axe and Havels great shield not the best bet?
It depends on your play style. But I personally think mobility is the way to go for this fight.
What weapon was he using?
Yep, i struggle at even beating the 1st phase ,, gotta pass on this boss/area and just enjoy watching other people play it rest of the Painted World area.
I'm new to from games and im hooked I ran through bloodborne I absolutely loved it but I dont understand how everybody says it's harder lady Maria is a name I see a lot first play through ever took 2 trys but I just died 20 times in a row to sister freida
Thank You
Thank you good sir
😂😂 Dude did u beat them yet?
Best guide out there
Thanks, Metruzanca!
Not even closely. This is just displaying her patterns - not really much of a guide actually.
Thanks for the video. I've died like a million times. Also should I use a fast melee weapon? Or does it matter.
Use whatever weapon you're comfortable with
Probably because the counter attack windows are so small. Otherwise if you have a strength build with high vitality just poise and trade.
I can not conentrade on friede on second phase i have to kill him because if i go on friede he always makes his fire breath....
Don't gale come???
you make it looks so easy. fucking 3 phase boss is killing me. i thought only 2 phase.
It may looked easy but It's mildly tough.
it's actually easy. won on my first try. luck maybe?
Raghad Gaming You probably too pro.
xHolmesWalkthroughsx7
U can check my fight if you're interested.
thank you
what's the paired when ur using
Onikiri and ubidachi
You make it look so easy. Is this ur first attempt?🤔
It only looks easy. I actually took a few hours to completely get this boss down.
@@xHolmesWalkthroughsx7 me 2
you do know you can parry her in phase 1 and 3? makes the fight A LOT easier, so many people play DS3 and don t know how to parry and isntead just spamm panic roles, it s insane.
I hate this boss
Bro whats your gametag password i need help bad
Anyone wanna team up on pc? to help each other or just me? I have been at this boss for hours.
Nice bloodborne fashion soul
Shittest and unfair boss ever
What moves do you struggle with? I thought the same way you did too. I was yelling about how unfair it was for her to go Invisible and do a bunch of AOE attacks but once I picked up on where she moved while invisible I was able to turn her BS attack into my advantage because I knew exactly where she was gonna show up and stopped her. I actually beat her because she went invisible, such irony 😅
your character looks liike a bloodborne character lol
That's what I was going for :o)
This boss fight is literally impossible, I cant fucking kill her its fucking impossible this is such bullshat
Anyone need help
72,000 souls for that wow what a rip off lol. it should've been 100,000 souls tbh.
I HATE THIS BOSS!!!
Same, the first boss I cannot beat... And I beat all bosses in the main story pretty easily.
First try p3, after watching your guide and seeing her vulnerable moments. Thanks!
Awful boss, considering how fucking long it takes to just make it to p3 again and practice it.
hollow slayer great sword do more damages to them.
That's a great sword though, that changes things like stamina and speed.
In phase 2 just worry about her... Shit guide
Help me someone
ridiculous
I actually beated her like on my 8th try or something... didn't find it that hard tbh. but i can see why it would be i quess i just got lucky haha
LMKWonderVamp then why in the fuck are you watching a guide? To show off i assume.
I prefer the fight with Gael over this one...annoying as hell tbh
Gael was insane tho. Felt like I was fighting a DBZ character
