I would look at possible contaminated fuel in both trackers. Since it started within an hour of each one.
Only takes a little to ruin spray pattern.
Thought about that but if the 3rd one is ok then that rules out fuel
@@nickkercheval2704 not exactly, the 435 hasnt been used as much as the 525 and 600 and likely hasnt been refueled as recently as the other two. decent chance they got a new load of diesel and have refueled the 525 and 600 and not 435
@@BackTheBlue96 Not knowing all the specifics I have to think they thought about fuel and ruled it out. I have to agree that if they got a recent fuel delivery that could be an issue. If so drain the tanks and put different fuel in
💯 agree, 2 machines same symptoms,1 identical operational similarly
The fact that both tractors started to fail in such close proximity I am highly suspicious of the fuel. Or possibly sabotage.
After seeing you blame yourself for the injector problems on those buds makes me think of what dad told me when I started farming. He always said don’t blame yourself for doing something you thought was the right thing to do that the time
And something like this was a no brainer to do worn injectors can kill an engine and total it if they suddenly fail and destroy the block then you are really screwed the injectors shouldn't have this problem being freshly rebuilt
Time for case IH to come to the rescue
You know things are dire when Robert doesnt even have a pun to help lighten the mood. Sorry you guys are having so many issues. hopefully your luck turns around and it is a spectacular harvest to make up for it.
If you're still having issues with it, not saying your mechanic doesn't know what he's doing, contact Warren "western truck and tractor repair". He's a genius with these engines.
CaseIH needs to send you a quad trac to save the season
I'm also thinking a Case IH trial loaner stopping by would be great for the Welkers' stress levels. Be a bad look if a green machine showed up instead....😮
Sorry about the trouble with two tractors, not a good time of the year for this to happen. Hoping it works out for the best.
I never thought I´d see an American farmer do an ad for a Farmsim game developed in Switzerland/Germany.
Gaming really brings people together. 😁
Stay the course, you guys are strong with great families. Thank you for the great content over the years
Great to see it raining Wednesday afternoon. Hope the water will make you smile 😊
Brad is truly blessed that he recovered from the snake bite. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what he looked like after getting bit. Very fortunate !!
Not your fault Nick! Prayers that the old ones work. Maybe a demo tractor is available. Very odd that they both go out and are doing the exact same thing when both just had the exact same service done.
I'm gonna say the same as others and check the fuel. Last time at work (we run heavy equipment for a steel plant) that we had 2 or more machines with similar issues, it turned out to be clogged injectors from contaminated fuel. We had fuel delivered with algie that contaminated the whole fuel tank, then the fuel truck then our machines.
agree algae bloom holds injector pins open causing flooding or rich condition>black smoke...
Algae in fuel is a big problem in Aviation fuel tanks.
All I can say is get a Fass, catches any debris or alage for that matter.
Wish you guys were able to demo that newest big Budd to hit the agricultural market. Looks very versatile. Take care Nick Scott and Dad, hopefully you guys make it thru it
I sure wish you guys the best. I know you'll figure it out. We're pulling for you!
It's really great that you as a farmer have a touch with the virtual farming. And yeah, Welker Farms Inc. map is available in Farming Simulator 22 thanks to Mappers Paradise.
Rick below mentioned fuel return line , absolutely correct the pt fuel system is very sensitive to return back pressure. Run it into an open drum. Also check your tank breather
The first JD 4240 through 4860 had duel air filters. Changing the outer filter only confused many. The inner filter would get dirty also and cause extreme black smoke. Changing the innner air filter would cure the air pollution issue. Big Buds may have primary and secondary air filters like the fuel system.
Somewhere and somehow this is yet another educational moment. We just we had the ability to edit the itinerary. Sucks when time is all you don't have. Many possibilities. Pray you all figure it out ... sooner than later.
Unfortunately everyone is saying you guys need newer tractors… guys it’s not that easy to just go buy “new ones”. They just came off of two years of terrible drought and hail. Would they like to buy a quad… obviously. I feel lots of commenters are not understanding how farming and farmers actually work… you don’t just go “Buy” a new tractor cause it’s broken lol.
Do I think they need to move on to a quad… probably, but I don’t wanna see the buds ever leave they are the reason i subscribe to this channel years ago. But I will say planting is the most crucial time of the year for making money on the backend so inevitably you can’t afford breakdowns off this magnitude one after another. As a farmer I completely understand your situation and how frustrating it is. Take care
I would first check the fuel return line going back to the tanks for restriction since it only over fuels at high RPM.
Air filter would be my next check.
great video guys. Sorry for all of the troubles. Could be fuel ? Anyhow, good luck fixing the problem
There are low flow injectors and high flow injectors, I found this out when running a KTA on the Dyno and was getting crazy horsepower and it kept climbing, got the injectors and fuel pump matched and it was back to about 625 H P. This happened after the injectors were overhauled. Cheers my friend
Sorry to hear about your Buds!!. Hope you can get them up and running soon. God bless you guys
I hope that you all get up and running soon!
Real life farmer fixing, #9 wire, duct tape and a big hammer!! Always works. How is moisture holding up?? Real dry here in eastern Alberta, like scary dry!!
If yiur fuel quality is ok
Check the air cleaners
Check the turbo including crossover. Axial and radial measurements
Cut the filters open and check for engine damage. If all good big sigh of relief. If debris identify material, remove cam covers and check followers and cam if steel.
Check the after cooler. Get a boost reading steady state and check the delta p I would expect 2psi there's no actual spec.
Are you setting inner base circle method.... 304 thou on the dial indicator if I recall correctly
These are great engines if you service injectors every 5000hours and fuel pump every 10. Dont screw up the fuel pressure, Just leave as standard. Dont mix cpl parts. Make sure the parts from the old engine are the same cpl
K19 are still made out of seymour and are available. Plenty of these still running here in australia.
Time for the channel sponsor to send you something to keep you going !
I would try and check the fuel and maybe change fuel filters just as a precaution. I have no experience with farming but in the trucking industry bad fuel can hit you quick.
Check the inter/ after cooler. If they get clogged with carbon, it makes them smoke and lose power.
Had this issue on my fishing boat with a KTA 19.
Bad fuel . Possibly gasoline an diesel mix. I've seen it happen before .
Prayers sent from the East Coast for effective repairs, locating of parts and no more breakdowns.
might seem odd but I've experienced a planting season that didn't seem that dusty but all 3 tractors took to smoking one at a time.... an 886, a 1066, and a newer case . and after trying fuel filters and all sorts of other things it ended up being the month-old air filters. it took like 6 guys and almost 2 days to figure that out...... they had just been changed... no one thought it could be that.
It’s the twisted sisters!! When one goes the other follows closely!
Love this channel, I can't wait for the live-stream videos! very enjoyable
Now would be a good time for a demo😊
Praying that everything works out for you guys
I agree with Mac Dawg - it sounds like dirty fuel.
You three in the truck cab reminded me of my dad and us three boys all crowded in headed to town. Couldn’t leave us boys behind. After all we were headed to the feed store. Our local Agway farm store. It’s always frustrating when you the kind of problem that makes no sense. We all have faith in you men. You’ll get ‘‘em fixed.
Time to work with your sponsor Case and bring in a new or used Steiger. You certainly are spending more money on these big buds then the payments you would have for a new/used unit.
I played a farming game on Facebook which wasn't near as complex as your game. I was building spread sheets to get the maximum out of the game. AND I was getting up at 3am to harvest crops to beat my friends. Then one day I realized that I was spending more time playing farm instead of my real business doing commercial construction drawings. Looks like a really neat game, but I need money.
I know it sounds like a really stupid suggestion, and you have likely already checked, but have you tried running it with the air filter/filters out? Looks to me like its struggling for air....esp with the way it cleans up at idle and just smokes under load... The fuel is likely correct and its just getting starved for air, does it feel down on power at all? Could just be a dusty season and both have clogged up? Or maybe you have serviced both tractors recently with a different brand of filter which blocks up alot quicker than normal in the dusty conditions? Like i say you have likely already checked this, but if not, its got to be worth just pulling the filters right out for one pass just to see if it sorts the problem? Maybe if your reading this comment you can like it up so it gets seen. Hope your able to get it sorted soon, nothing worse than a breakdown mid season, never go wrong in the shed do they!!
You need to have a metal detector tool bar to find all of those spare parts.
Oh and just remove all the iron supplements keeping the crops alive? 😀
check temperature of each exhaust manifold port with IR temp gun to see which cylinders are running hot
My friend has a 1980 Kenworth with a kta 600 and it used to get a $10,000 fresh up every year!
I love playing Farm Sim 23 and the Welker Farms map is one of my favorites.
Injectors or bad fuel. But the injectors make sense. Good luck from Portugal 😃
It might be time to cut you loses and get yourselves a new to you CaseIH. At least one save the buds for auxiliary work.
We had a machine that did an injector. Thought we would be smart and put a full set of injectors in. Couldn’t get it to go again so new injector pump and all sorts thrown on it. Turns out the brand new injector were faulty!
So frustrating. I feel your pain Nick
I would make sure air filters are clean, then take a fuel sample and check fuel weight. 2 tractors same problem sounds like fuel
Sorry to hear Nick...Is Case on the way with a Quad...that'd be handy
don't blame yourself Nick, you was doing maintenance to prevent these problem, if the injectors are failing that's not your fault.. hope you guys get it figured out
Totally agree, really wish farming simulator existed back when I was into playing video games. I try to find the time and ambition to play for a lil bit here and there but this game would have been amazing back when I played for hrs on end! lol
Case should provide you folks with a tractor IMO. For how well you represent them. God Bless ,and I hope you resolved the issues.
How the hell did you see that opener in the middle of the field from the cab?😂 I think we have to start calling you Hawkeye Nick😂
A lot of people are getting bad fuel and it's causing fires. Both tractors nearly the same time? Sounds like it's the fuel. Stay safe out there
Case IH send those boys a 620 quad
Both Buds have the same issue at the same time can only be one thing, and that would be Fuel as it is the only thing that has been added. Very unlikely that both tractors injectors fail at the same time unless it is Fuel.
But the 3rd bud is not having issues
@@anthonymurphy2464 Not really, its still a mechaniacl unit style injector that's just electroically fired. If it was bad fuel, that tractor would be suffering too. I'd say it was a poor rebuild job on the injectors.
@@dieselman8v923 Totally agree.
@@dieselman8v923 there is no doubt about it in my mind it’s bad rebuild. This is why you do not rebuild injectors. Ever!
@@peteparker7396 even New injectors can be bad. I've seen it more than once right out of the box
I’ve played farm simulator back couple years ago. With a bunch of friends, just like good ol days. Hopefully both buds are fixed soon. 🙏
Thanks for that intro Bob. I haven't heard that in years. I really miss Rush.
Had are 955L and are 955L 13x did something close to that it was water in the fuel we bought that morning at the local fuel station. Sadly it scorched all 8 injectors between the two loaders. Best of luck, Godspeed
Praying that everything works out for you guys 🙏
Might be time to start upgrading the tractors.. Maybe a couple new big buds are in order
Not Big buds. Just a couple of quadra-tracs
Sorry for the lack of luck this spring. Like others have said could it be your fuel supply? Hope you found the fix! Good Luck.
Being both are having the issue maybe that's the source
Keep the faith Nick! Keep the faith.
On a Cummins with PT fuel pumps if they start smoking like that under load like both your Buds are doing it's not the fuel it's in the injectors themselves. More than likely they'll have a bad set of springs or tips and seats on them. Rebuilding old Cummins injectors is getting to be a lost art anymore. One of the best places still is Pittsburgh power. They're expensive but worth the cost Bruce there has forgotten more about Cummins engines than Chelsea Cummins himself.
@haroldbenton979 I heard an interview with Bruce Mallinson of Pittsburgh Power a few years ago, and he talked extensively about a big problem with rebuilt injectors. Poor quality control in parts was the point of failure he was seeing the most. I'll bet things haven't improved.
True, cummins pt pump rooms are getting harder to come by. We have a pump room at our facility that is very busy. Quality is excellent. Problem is we are on the other side of the world. I think that locations like Alabama that service the gulf would be very experienced in pt fuel system servicing due to the crew boat market which still runs a high volume of k series marine engines
as a giants partner i love seeing you promote the game awesome video :d
Is the bowling ball cannon available in the Welker Farms mod?
When the same problem happens to two tractors at the same time, you need to look for a relationship. Did you get a fuel shipment in recently? Could it be bad fuel?
Good luck guys!
Great time for CASE to send a demo! You'll get it figured out! God bless
If the motors are to worn out. I hear cat is making new engines for trade in on pre def blocks that are going in pre def items
Nick, don't beat yourself down on those injectors. At least when you showed us in the video you put those things back together as clean and the best way that you know how. I'm guessing it's probably the company that rebuilt the injectors fault.
Fuel viscosity low along with low cetane value. Too much flow and low combustion.
Probably gasoline contamination in pipeline, bulk farm, or tanker
Dump tanks, flush lines and refill directly from retailer delivery truck. Lucy didn't take out pump and rings on those Cummis
Good luck guys. Have you wondered about the fuel? Being they both went down at once?
CASE IH PLEASE SAVE THE SEASON
Good show
I have been playing on FS 17, FS 19, and FS 22. On every iteration I have Welker Farms as one of my main maps!
You guys do amazing work on just about everything. You are doing what you have to do. After a trial of our faith come the blessings. Keep pluggin . . .
There is an old Polish proverb: "Diesel, musi dymić", which means "Diese, have to fume" :) . The black smoke usual means injectors problems and this is regular situation with old diesel engines here, in Europe. If there is too much fuel (when you rapidly press a throttle) or it is not spread correctly (injectors malfunction) then it is not able to burn in the right way and you have a black soot in the fumes. I guess.... :D
This biofuel now days makes my tractor smoke.
Fuel?
I’m saying Bad Fuel? 2 Tractors and Same Issue?
3 rd Bud running ok though
Praying for you guys!!!!
Poor ole Buds..Maybe time for newer tractors. Put the Buds in a museum.
Great video Nick LegArms and Bob
I would be looking at contaminated fuel as well
You might try contacting Central Truck & Diesel in Casper, Wy, they had some K series running in their area and may have some available wouldn’t hurt in contacting them.
I feel your pain, my 2.0 tdi Audi has 2 bad injectors.. these are pricey as hell, i can only image what those on Big bud cost.. and if you find them. Crappy timing for them to be causing issues, hope you've resolved it by the time i'm writing this! God bless!
Sorry you're having this emoke problem ( even though it looks COOL 😎 😂 ). Don't beat up on yourself. Injector remanufacturers don't usually make a **** of the job; it doesn't do their business any good.
Maybe check out your fuel...age, frosted, wrong type, filters full of contaminants, water....... Look around, you might be surprised or relived!!
I’m praying for good news
Sounds like a plugged primary air filter.
I used a rock between casting and nut when I had a nut spinning on the other side - i see you had a lot rocks in the field so save the tip for the next time :)
look at it this way. it can only get better from here. keep your chin up things will be fine.
Damn you guys aren't having much luck planting. Hopefully you guys can get done planting & get those Mighty Big Buds working correctly.
If the swap works I sure hope you name the company you sent the injectors to in order to save others of this heartache
Time to call a favor into case and see how good your partnership is and get one of there tractors. Seeing they will lone you one for planting season. That's what partners do. They have each other's back.
That's what you get for trying to do the right thing. No good deed goes unpunished
There's a chance that there's an issue with air supply to the engine. If the pressure is good, and injectors turn out to be OK i believe you should check the engines to see if they get enough air. Could be just a simple filter problem or something more serious like a turbo.
Hope u get your tractors fixed Welker Farms
GPa Welker's news alert reminded me of Rush Limbaugh...greatly missed.
Keep churning
That's why you guys should rebuild them. You hope they continue to run. That's just bad planning. Rip those engines apart in the winter. Inframe. Replace parts you need. But that old. U guys need to pull em apart. In my opinion. I know engines. Owned 7 trucks in my career. Rebuilt every one of them. I know how important it is.
