This is a great video! The fallen should be honored well and often, and their stories should be shared with warmth and remembrance. You guys should consider reposting some of these. Especially if you don't have anything lined up realtime.

My family has done a lot of our genealogy search. One of my ancestors was sarah wilde, one of the women hanged in the salem witch trials. I also have a few other family members that were also put to death for being witches. So I feel a very strong connection to them. On my Irish side, one of my family members was known as Gillian. The Battle Axe that makes me happy since I am a very strong-minded person. I often think of him since he was a chieftain.

What a great video Mine Gothi Bodvarr! We should always, always honor our ancestors as much as we honor our Gods, as well as our pets. In my home, we have a shrine dedicated just to our ancestors and our deceased 8 year old Tuxedo furboy's ashes stay on our altar.
Think of all that our ancestors sacrificed for us.
This was greatly needed information for our Heathen community to know and understand. Nicely done and Þakka fyrir!

My father loved the Big Lebowski. It matched his turd-like sense of humor. He was a Vietnam vet and fought til the end, not giving in to his failing health easily, which has been an inspiration for me. He also loved fireworks, cooking, interacting with his garden, fishing, and giving selflessly to people. He called everyone his brother or sister. My family as far back as my grandfather from the mid 1800s also had explosive tempers, lol… something I have to watch for in myself!
Ancestor veneration is important to me as my children are 17 and 19, and all of my grandparents, most of my great aunts and uncles, and my father are gone. It’s healing and gives me strength to know and to honor my roots, but also to know that we never truly die, but are carried on in blood, bones, and memory.

It is a part of Asatru that everyone knows about but I'm afraid it barely makes the conversation or the ritual in favor of more cool and mainstream practices. That's why we build it into our daily lives in such a way.

I've recently gotten a job growing marijuana. I find myself often honoring and thinking of my uncle Ken as I care for the plants. Its funny that I constantly find things in these videos that explain these innate, almost intuitive ritualistic behaviors. A friend actually pointed out that I tend to perform rituals without even knowing that I am performing rituals.
From my mead brewing, to honoring my ancestors. This video speaks to me, and perhaps it's my ancestors speaking through me, showing me the path.
    Thank you for this video!

I think if we got religion out of the way we would find that most of these heathen practices are intuitive and they are our natural default.

Also honoring Freya by taking care of her sacred herb. Just taking care/nurturing/harvesting is an act of kindness in her eyes. A quick prayer to her while in the fields is of course an additional bonus.

I've been doing family history research for 22 years now, and just got a DNA test to see if everything matches, I had tens of thousands of people with the same people. Made me feel as though I did a phenomenal job. I was able to find who my biological paternal line is, my grandfather was adopted. I can't wait to put together a genealogy book like what you have.

Question my mother was adopted and I really don’t know my ancestors but I would love to honor and love them with all my heart

You dont have to know them to honor them. Most people dont even know their great grandparents name, rather they were adopted or not.

Hello! My husband and I are wanting to “transition” into Norse Paganism not sure if that’s the right word. Anyway we have come across your videos and really enjoy them. I have a question for you in order to become a Norse Pagan must you have a certain percentage of DNA from Noway, Denmark, Germany etc?? For example My Husband is 10% Sweden and Denmark and 4% from Norway and a bunch of other things and I have 5% Noway etc.. and if we do have to be I won’t be offended lol

You don't need any specific DNA profile to be Norse Pagan. But some groups you come across may require it. It is a big community with a lot of conflicting ideas.

Indo-European beliefs have had ancestor worship for millennia. In fact all religions have some aspects of ancestor worship. If you are European, it is a broad spectrum of belief with much cross over. But blood and tradition is definitely what holds it together. Don’t believe you need some specific denomination to honor your dead. It is in all of us to do so.

While most people wonder how to start working with ancestral spirits, I am looking for a way to completely separate myself from them and all human spirits (I only want to have other non-human beings with me)
