@@PianowithNate sorry about that, i had a little typo hehe.. anyways you're welcome and I'm a talent scout at Sessions and love what you're doing. Your tutorials are so helpful! Thank you very much. Especially adding extra tricks. Very often when I watch tutorials I don't even try learning songs cause I feel like there's no way I can learn those. But with you I start with simple chords and with time I learn more. Extremely helpful!
This is awesome to hear! Glad that the approach is working for you...it always feels like a tough balance to not bore more advanced players while not overwhelming more beginner players. Cheers :)
You do absolutely everything right with your tutorials. I’ve picked up on so much just by watching your videos tonight. Gonna be fun to actually play tomorrow 🥳
This is incredible. Just watched it start to finish copying every chord shape into a paint document to make it easier on myself. Im a very beginner but i know some basic left and right hand piano since i learned the entertainer by watching my son do it. Hopefully that helps me here. I imagine singing at the same time is a whole other kettle of fish. I hope you know how great a teacher you are.
@@PianowithNate😊 is there a trick to signing while you play or is it just practice? It feels like rubbing your belly and pattibt your head and making a souffle at the same time. 😂 Im ambidextrous so i find it rather easy to get both hands playing together but as soon as i open my mouth my brain explodes 😂
The key is to practice the piano part enough that you can sort of do it with muscle memory on “autopilot” while focusing on the singing. Then very slowly add the singing. You can try humming first so you don't have to worry about the words. You’ll get there!@@noth9617
@@PianowithNate thank you! It's all I've done all morning but I can do the first little bit with singing and just hitting the notes once and letting it ring while I sing then changing chords when they change. I'll keep practicing. It's a fantastic arrangement. Yours is good because it's exciting but not too complicated. I saw one and while it sounded good (not as good as yours) they replicated a strumming pattern and it was very hard to do that with piano. I play ukulele and guitar as well and without the swing of the arm up and down just not striking notes when you dont need them it's hard. Much harder to get the down down down up down down up down up when it's just both hands slamming a piano 😂 🤯
Just found your videos last night and already signed up on your website. Really appreciate how you lay out your lessons. Do you ever write out the sheet music? I would love that to accompany your videos. Would you consider doing that?
Hi Wanda! Thank you for the kind words and for signing up for Piano Chord Breakthroughs! If there was enough demand for it, I would consider making sheet music for some tutorials in the future. I tend to like to teach rock songs thinking in underlying chords and adding rhythms/patterns to those chords (the way most of the musicians that write these songs do it), rather than being glued to sheet music note-for-note the way classical musicians operate. Also, this way, I can give multiple options for people to do easier or more advanced versions of these songs based on their ability, without having to publish multiple versions of sheet music for each possible option. But I have definitely noted your suggestion and will think about ways I could make this feasible.
