As an average Joe, I'd rather fight James Toney because after the fight there would be plenty of evidence for the following litigation where I ended up owning every dollar he ever made. Randy would just choke me out, write "my bitch" on my forehead in magic marker and there wouldn't be shit I could do about it.
couture can submit you but toney can beat you to death. also, james toney is not a current champion, not of any real organization. he's not even a top 20 heavyweight
This video is dumb because the title is misleading. However, I will answer the poll. I'd much rather fight Toney than Couture. I feel that I could do a good job avoiding his punches and circling around him. When the time is right, I'd clinch and hit him with body and leg strikes. When the time is right, I'd most likely go for a single leg to try and take him down. As far as Couture, I'm pretty sure he's quick, strong, and skilled enough to completely outclass me in all areas of a fight lol
@Dale1cool, so after Randy Couture mounts James Toney with ease once again, Toney would just bite him and he'll get Randy off? Seriously? What would he bite?Randy´s hands? Something that hardly hurts, especially with raised levels of adrenaline? Randy could very easily just rip his hand away or he could start eye gouging Toney seeing as his head is immobile while biting. And it's not just speed but also technique that matters. For example:throwing a punch with good technique versus bad technique.
I like both sports-the lure of mma is the concept of using the best combination of martial arts ie the ultimate fighter on the planet-just dont get bigger than that-it has already overtaken boxing on many avenues. After Toney got massacred, other boxers might think twice about switching over
if it were in the UFC i'll fight toney. anything where he is on the ground beats him. couture is great on teh ground and has good striking, plus he is great at strategizing
@redlandscapes you have the option of not coming to youtube if this bothers you to that extent, why do you return, or better yet, even comment? very odd indeed.
I'd rather spar randy and probably rather not fight either... life or death I guess I'd take toney cause I think I could maybe run away for a bit or something....either way I'm doomed
@wkaine88 You know nothing about the streets. Anything goes, if Randy somehow took down Toney outside, then Toney would properly just bite him, he'd soon get of. Boxing, Karate, and all other striking arts will always have the advantage outside. Speed beats everything, with speed you almost cannot lose.
@wkaine88 You know what, that's just my opinion. You may think that grablers have the advantage outside, but i think that strikers would have the advantage outside. And that's the way it is and will stay.
@literallarry2011 not current actually klichkos and david haye are he hasnt fought at that level in a long time, but i like both just thought id correct you there.
@masterblastertkd ... i've been training in different arts since the late 80's, when i started wrestling, then went to judo, then taekwondo, then MT, then eventually bjj... i have more than one black belt, but i'm not even close to the shape of a pro athlete, but i have a lot of technique, and am a skilled fighter for an amateur... i'm older now, and teach, but i could still whoop a boxer, pro or otherwise.
@juzblazejr Of course they're different, but they're similiar as well... they cross over all the time. How many mma guys don't work boxing? Not many boxers cross over to mma, but some do, so even though they're different sports, mma includes boxing.
@masterblastertkd ...boxing is just too 1 dimensional... of course, it's a huge part of what any fighter needs to train, but by itself, in this day and age, it's useless without other aspects of fighting. Let's face it, a boxer might be the toughtest guy at the bbq, but that's about it. There's pro boxing, and there's pro fighting... they're not the same. Boxers think of themselves as pro fighters, because for so long they've been the only show in town... the times, they are a changin'.
@juzblazejr First of all, i'm not TRYING to say anything, i already said it. I didn't say boxing isn't good in a street fight. I'm saying mma fighters are more well-rounded in all areas of combat. It seems like boxers are in denial about this, saying they're better athletes, better fighters, etc. which just isn't true. I'd never want to take a punch from a pro boxer, but let's face it, as an mma fighter i'd have a strategy to fight a boxer. a boxer is 10% the fighter an mma guy is.
@bcibibcibcpCB jiu-jitsu is about using leverage and using the other guys strength against them... totally different than an mma fight, where, all things being equal, most fighters are good in all areas, therefore, things like size and strength make a difference, but in a self-defense situation, size doesn't matter, technique does. btw, i'm an amateur mma fighter, i weigh 170lbs, i have good striking for an amateur, and good ground for an amateur... i think i could take most pro boxers... imo.
@bcibibcibcpCB i have a lot of respect for boxers... i've boxed myself a little, and don't claim to be nearly as good as them at boxing... but lets face it, it's not the hardest sport in the world... not even close... not even top 100 hardest IMO. They make millions because for the longest time it was the only combative sport you could watch on mainstream tv, that's why it's changing, and they're not making as much...
Couture , he would choke me out right away. Toney would break my face. Couture = a little nap , Toney = reconstructive Surgery
he looks uncomfortable being in his guard
thats an idiotic question. james toney. take him down. james toney+no ground skills=easy fight.
As an average Joe, I'd rather fight James Toney because after the fight there would be plenty of evidence for the following litigation where I ended up owning every dollar he ever made. Randy would just choke me out, write "my bitch" on my forehead in magic marker and there wouldn't be shit I could do about it.

i got good ole muddy watered.
thank god i paused at 0:04 seconds to read the comments, thank you redlandscapes and shooter246123
I'd rather fight Couture. Toney's hands are fucking dangerous. I don't want to get hit by those knockout punches.
What's the point of thumbs down when you can't see them before you click the fucking video?
I'd rather fight Randy, because he is a legend and it would be an honor to fight him.
Toney would be much easier to fight though, obviously.
couture can submit you but toney can beat you to death. also, james toney is not a current champion, not of any real organization. he's not even a top 20 heavyweight
