- We believe this is some of the best Fall foliage that we have ever seen.
We went to Sassafras Mountain, the highest point in South Carolina. We then went to Whitewater Falls, near Rosman, and then on to hike to the summit of Whiteside Mountain, near Highlands.
Go along with us, and see this magnificent day of Fall foliage.

This was absolutely awesome! I'm so glad that y'all are able to travel and put beautiful memories on camera. Y'all captured some beautiful places. White water falls is the one major waterfall in NC that I would love to see because of how high it is and long it keeps going. It's like the energizer bunny! Lol. I would love for y'all to see Dry Falls. It's the only waterfall that I know of that you can walk behind it. Thank you both for sharing your memories and may God bless you both. We just drove by Dry Falls the other week, on the way up to Highlands. We didn't actually take the time to go down and walk behind it, because we had to go to the Christmas tree lighting up there.
@@NCMemoryMakers Thank you and I understand. I do hope that y'all can visit Dry Falls soon. We live in Thomasville, NC and it's pretty far away from us but if we ever get a chance to go traveling, I'm going back to Dry Falls and maybe visit Linville Caverns again. Y'all take care and be safe.
Whitewater Falls is beautiful…! Quite a hike to the top, those stairs; geez, but very well worth it…!! I hiked it alone because my husband stayed back with my parents. A few years ago my husband and I took my 90 year old parents to this area (Cashiers/Highland) and there’s actually several waterfalls all within a close walking distance from the road. If I remember correctly there was 7 nearby waterfalls, some that you could view from your car. I have pictures of all of them but can’t recall their names at the moment. I think one was Bridal Falls, and another was Looking Glass, I’d have to look at my pictures for all the other names. Gorgeous area to visit. Thank you for taking me back and for sharing your journey with us!
On the road from Franklin to Highlands, there is Cullasaja and Bridal Veil Falls. Both are very beautiful, and that road is very narrow, but scenic. There is also Dry Falls. I believe Looking Glass Falls is near Brevard. I know you can see Looking Glass Rock from the Blue Ridge Parkway there.
We were just on the road between Franklin and Highlands, back during Black Friday weekend. It was amazing.
We agree, that Whitewater Falls was one of the most scenic we have ever seen...especially in the Fall!
Great video from my neck of the woods. In 2018 my friends step daughter lost her life at Upper White Water Falls. That part of the video although amazing in your video was all I could think of. That bad time and all our prayers on those days..
So very sorry for the loss of your friend's stepdaughter. I know that must have been a very painful time, and the memories of that day are still very hard. Sorry that you had to re-live part of that time in our video. We do try to warn people when we go to a place like this, of the dangers. That is why we showed the sign that fatalities have occurred there. I am sure that seeing that sign, brought back some painful memories.
Again, we are very sorry that happened.
Thank you for that I really enjoy all your videos. I was just at Cades Cove Camp Ground two weeks ago. It was nice to be able to get up and inside early when the gates opened. I also did Parsons Branch Road to Tail of the Dragon.

We went to Upper Whitewater Falls on 10/19 and it was beautiful. I counted 153 steps down and 153 back up. There is a great view of Lake Jocassee from up there.
We went to Pretty Place earlier that day and it's a must see.

We have been wanting to go to the highest point in South Carolina for years. Some very beautiful views and colors up there. You sure know your mountains Derrick. The waterfall was so beautiful with those colors. Over 400 ft isnt that taller than Niagara falls? Awesome ariel footage! Wish those water falls were full as you said. Wish the shadow of the bear would have been there. You and Shawnasi have some of the best footage we have seen this year. We never knew some of these places existed. Thanks for sharing. Tina popped some popcorn for this. The video was that good.

Yes, I would have to say it is taller than Niagara Falls, since this is listed as the tallest waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains. I don't know the exact height of Niagara Falls, but this one would have to be taller.
Identifying distant mountains, has always been a hobby of mine.
Ever since I subscribed to your channel and started watching your videos I keep saying they can't get any better than the last one. Well I was wrong, this is my new all time favorite. Beautiful and well done. You shot this video on my birthday and I will say this, if I had one day to pick out of the year to be born on this would be the day since I love the last week of October so much. Hello again when you are talking while driving maby you can turn camera towards road and not worry bout the camera being on you guys as long as we can hear you
We do that sometimes. Maybe we should have done it sooner in this one. But when I get the restaurant review done of supper that evening, it will show some of the same clips with the camera turned around. Stay tuned!
