    Interesting place, lots of great memorabilia. Don’t know how you stood being out in that hot sun watching the gun fight, hope u had a cold water 😊 The museum was fantastic.

      @@DonnaAnders-w4d We were actually under a shelter during the gunfight, but we were out in the sun at other points of the day. It was miserable. About 100 degrees.
      But yes, a great place to visit.

    Interesting to see all those old items. That was a huge wagon. Definitely bigger than most. The Winnabago in its day!

    Thank you for the tour of Dodge city! I read about Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson this morning. Both had varied and active careers. I can just say I’m glad I had a different career option without having to carry a side arm. 😉

      I fully agree with you. Law enforcement is dangerous nowadays, but I guess it was back then, as well. I love reading about and learning about the old west.

      So glad you enjoyed it. I did have to cut significant portions out of the museum part, or the video would have been very long, and I figured people wouldn't watch. But I'm glad that you enjoyed it and found it interesting. Dodge City is a very interesting and historical place.

    This was a great and interesting video tour of old west Dodge City. My dad watched old west movies and TV shows when I was a kid. He liked John Wayne westerns and then Clint Eastwood movies the most. I like the movie Tombstone and the two Young Guns movies the most myself and the TV shows Bonanza and Gunsmoke starring James Arness.

      Have you seen "Gunfight At The OK Corral", with Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas? That is probably my favorite western of all time.

    • @ronsandgren1
      @ronsandgren1 7 місяців тому +1

      @@NCMemoryMakers Yes I've watched that movie a few times and it was pretty good but was inaccurate and the movie Tombstone changed things too but Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp had a big moustache in Tombstone but Burt Landcaster was clean shaven and I think he should've worn a fake moustache at least and he had a northeastern accent. Kirk Douglas had a moustache at least.

    • @NCMemoryMakers
      @NCMemoryMakers  7 місяців тому +1

      @ronsandgren1 Yes, I think pretty much all movies take some liberties with accuracy. I just liked the acting in it, and the theme behind it. And also the scenery.

    best eye remember there is a LARGE cattle feed lot. Much larger than any cattle feed lot in NC or TN...!!

    • @NCMemoryMakers
      @NCMemoryMakers  7 місяців тому +1

      That is correct. There is a huge cattle lot right on Highway 50, right before you enter Dodge City.
      There's also one west of Dodge City, that is the biggest I've ever seen. It's actually a good bit west, but I can't recall the town that it's near right off hand. Maybe Garden City.

    Between 1875 and 1886 4 million long horn cattle. That is awesome considering the population of America was only about I think 30 million around that time.

    Tge "wicketest little city? I that was Las vegas?

    • @NCMemoryMakers
      @NCMemoryMakers  2 місяці тому

      Pay attention to what was actually said. I said in the beginning, "USED TO BE CALLED the wickedest little city in America".
      In the description, it clearly said "IN THE 1800'S, WAS KNOWN as The Wickedest Little City in America".
      Also, Las Vegas has a population of over 600,000 people. That is hardly a "little city".
