Thanks for the build. I'll be trying own Thankyou very much.
The other idea I have seen is one of those green cutting mats with grid lines, but it looks like your chopping board might be even better with that texturing on it.
It works pretty well. Definitely have to play with the water to get it right, but it does the job.
Just need to put a pan at the bottom when turning the water off to catch any good that moves.
Despite the learning curve it's doing the job mate, It's catching the gold,
With these thing I make and haven't used before. I like to show, the things that work ,with the stuff that goes wrong. Could always show everything perfectly, but that's not life.
@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures And the good thing is , any student who chooses to follow , becomes aware of what can go wrong.
Thank you for sharing and caring.
Great job worked well thanks for shareing your multi tasking sluice.. Regards Sleepy
Don't know why I haven't tried this before. It work great.
That was slick. I loving it. Keeping it AU% GOLD SQUAD OUT!!
Very happy with it.
Yes the general principle works very well. You've done a good job. 👍👍
Nice add on for what I've got. $5
cutting board from Kmart.
The bubble ring part of the cheaper Intex pools worked very well.
Not really sure what that is.
Bloody great stuff mate
Dennis
Until we are allowed back out , I thought why not make a few things to help separate the cons.
Yep deffs building one next week !!!!
That great.
@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures Thanks for the motivation
well done MRGA
rod wilson works really well.
Hey @murrayriversgoldadventures just wanted to tell you I weighed my Australian gold and it came out to 0.95g! Very happy with that result for being so new to the area. Thanks again for showing me around.
That's great mate. How you going back in the U.S.? Hope everyone's well.
@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures Everyone at home is healthy and well. Can't head out to the creeks until the stay at home order is lifted unfortunately. looking forward to getting some local gold soon. I will send you my US phone number so we can stay in touch. Cheers!
That's good to hear, It's looking like we will be allowed back out on the 11th.
@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures Happy that'll be cleared up soon for you too. Great to get out and get some fresh air.
Thanks Murray! Alot cheaper than cutting a chalk board up💛
It plastic so should last . It a thin board, so the clamp for the Dream mat works.
I was going to paint it with chalk board paint, but after trying it . there was no point.
Great idea. That's pretty cool. Nice video. I just started a new prospecting channel myself. Peace.
I'll have a loo, have Subscribed
Nice dude! this is an ace build. Tried Reedy for the first time last week and apart from the test pans I didn't even try to separate the gold from the heavies just panned away the blondes to the heavies and put cons into a bucket for when I have a miller table.
The gold and cons are from Reedy, If you're got one of the a little sluice 'like this. The kmart $5 chopping board work great.
That's bloody brilliant mate easy as well done cheers mate
Always want to try a Miller table, just couldn't justify the price. Was going to make one from scratch and thought, why not use the sluice.
@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures it's simply simple and that's the best way to build stuff mate I like ya thinking
great idea mate.
Prospecting equipment can be very costly. So anywhere you can save a buck helps
Looks like it cleaned the sand . Play with it a bit might save time panning sand out :)
It's worked better than I thought it would.
im sure a bit of washing liquid or rinse aid in the water would help too!
I did put a small amount in. It's tricky not to cause bubbles and break the surface tention.
Hey buddy let's catch up local for a scratch around Warrandyte as restrictions to r&r are being lifted in a few days. Nice to finally meet and catch up an area of have prospected in the past. Let me know, cheers George
I'll let you know might be down at Anderson creek on Thursday.
I did go past today and the water is way to high . It's 2 or 3 feet higher than I like.
@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures local to Anderson's creek as been years since I visited but made many past trips. Know parts of the area well and gold flow near carpark too. Water level up where!! So you know all try at the track leading up to mine..... wrong my friend, good colour is found further downstream 😉.
Great job, trial and error to get perfection and it looks like you've gotten it.
Do you remember where you got the chopping board from ? Going to give it a try, my old timber one is knackered. Cheers Craig 🍻⛏️
The chopping board is from Kmart. It about the thickness of the dream mat, so the clamp works perfectly.
@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures thanks mate, noticed your views have sky rocketed. Well done 👍.
Must be the lock down at the moment, probably drop down when we can get out.
Kmart
What are you using for the green table? Seems to work great.
It's a chopping board.
Do you painted? Or is pire plastic?
It plastic
Süper video 👍🇹🇷
Thanks mate
great idea mate nothing worse than trying to get gold out of that heavy black sands
I was thinking any one with one of these small highbankers of any highbanker could use what they had and replace the mat for something like this. Very cheap and affective.
@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures yes true mate or you could make a ply wood one uo to fit the cutting board lacquer it to protect it from water as well smallest sluice i got is 8 inches wide it might fit that carnt waite till lock downs over so we can hit the creeks mate
Hopefully we will be allowed around 11 May.
What gph pump is that
1100gph
I'ld bet you can't do that with a fluid bed sluice.
That's why I much prefer standard sluices - you can do anything with them by simply changing the sluice surface , and changing the slope and water flow to accomodate.
Them that try to denigrate all matting in favour of dream mat are simply charlatans.
Mats are designed to do a job , and as you have shown , once you have the sluice and a water source , it only takes a further 5 bucks to make a dedicated clean up sluice.
We are all stuck at home and I'm trying to get people to think outside the box . I haven't seen anyone convert a sluice in to a Miller table. Everyone I've seen have been wide. Not narrow like this.
