Glad to hear you're enjoying the flexibility! Those digital filters really can change the character of the sound. It’s all about fine-tuning to get the perfect audio match for your setup.
I really aimed to give valuable insights with that comparison! It can be overwhelming with so many options available, so I’m happy to hear it helped you feel more informed.
Thanks! It’s exciting to see more budget-friendly options that don’t skimp on features. This DAC really does open up a world of possibilities for entry-level audiophiles.

Thanks for checking out the review! I’m glad you found the DAC to be a great value. It makes me happy to share gear that won’t break the bank but still performs well!
@@TheAudioStuff Don't read reviews of the DO200pro and then compare for yourself and tell us which one is superior. I know the answer but you need to tell us which one and by how much(that's subjective).
Hi, I have a question for you, The Audio Stuff. No matter how hard I try to find the differences or comparison between these 2, DO100 Pro vs. DO200 Pro, I just don't seem to find any comparisons out there. Then I ran into your videos. I hope my question finds you, and you will be able to help me choose which one to go with. Just a short explanation of my setup. Sony TV and a Genelec 8020 active studio monitor. I tried multiple DACs from 10 quid to 40 quid, but none of them worked for me. I was able to get sound out of the 10 quid cheapest version via optical cable, but I am unable to adjust the volume using my TV's remote. Have to be changed manually in the settings each and every time, which drives me crazy. Then I ran into this SMSL Do100 Pro. I believe I found the solution to my problem. I am quite sure that I will be able to adjust the volume using this DAC, so adjusting the volume manually in my TV settings will come to an end soon. My main question is, what is the main difference between these 2 DO100 Pro vs. DO200 Pro, and which one would you recommend to buy and why? I like when the sound quality is crisp and clear, but will I hear a significant difference between these 2? Thank you for your answer.
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in the SMSL DO100 Pro and DO200 Pro. I'm happy to help you make an informed decision. The DO200 PRO uses twelve Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC chips. The DO100 uses 2x ES9038Q2M DAC chips. Those different chips have a different sound signature, that you might want to consider. Ultimately, the best way to determine the right DAC for you is to listen to them yourself. If possible, try to audition both models and compare their sound quality. However, based on your current setup and requirements, the DO100 Pro seems like the most suitable choice. The DO200 Pro is more expensive, and while it offers a bit better performance, you're not very likely to hear that. Your system is not very resolving at the moment to show all that. I'd say you'd be just fine with the DO100 PRO and a few more bucks in your wallet. They measure rather similarly too - I'd assume it's important to you, as you're running a pair of Genelec active speakers.
@@TheAudioStuff Hello there, Thank you for response. I think I will go with the 100pro after this converstation and I have the feeling I won't regret it. This will be a good entry level dac for me as I am looking to get a decent sound or something other than a cheap dac which offers no option for manually change the volume. Anywho, many thanks once again. Take care, bye now
Nice review! The hdmi is a great feature IMO, would be great to have more DACs with HDMI support, even without ARC by using a splitter since many devices now have hdmi
Right? 768 kHz support is pretty phenomenal! If you're an audiophile or just enjoy high-fidelity music, it really can enhance the listening experience. I’m excited for you to try it out!
Absolutely, that's something I've been considering! Comparing it with different DACs can really highlight its strengths and weaknesses. I’ll definitely look into doing a comparison in a future video, so stay tuned!
The soundstage is definitely a highlight! It should pair wonderfully with your headphones as it gives that immersive feel. I think you’ll notice a nice separation of instruments, which is always a plus in music listening.
Exactly! The remote might not be fancy, but sometimes that basic functionality is all you need. It keeps things user-friendly, which I really appreciate in a device like this.
Totally agree! The remote is such a convenient feature, especially for couch listening. I’m glad you find it useful-it really adds to the overall user experience.
Yeah, I was surprised too! At that price point, you often expect a bulkier remote, but sometimes simplicity is key. It may be lightweight, but as you said, it gets the job done, which is what matters most.
The Bluetooth performance on the SMSL DO100 PRO is impressive! I didn’t notice any significant lag while streaming my playlists, which is a huge plus for wireless convenience.
In a review like this it would be nice to know how much of an upgrade it's going to be over the sound that's built into the PC, as that's where most users are going to be coming from.
@@TheAudioStuff Pulled the trigger on a DO100 Pro after watching your video and the initial response is 'WOW!' Upgrading from a cheaper DAC can definitely bring noticeable improvements, especially if you're experiencing a plateau. The SMSL DO100 PRO is packed with features that can enhance your listening experience, so it's worth considering if you're looking to elevate your audio game.
I see you are using Innatek RCA in the video, what model and do you have recommendations for the USB C? I love my SMSL C200 and miss my fully balanced SU8s. I have been looking at the D100 pro and appreciate your review.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I’m really glad to hear you find the sound to be neutral and transparent. That’s exactly what I was hoping to showcase in the review!

Finally, has HDMI ! This is so good!
It's great that you find it useful! I honestly don't use HDMI much nowadays.

Significantly better than the RCA.

You should compare it against DO200 Pro which is based on the CS chipset. A head-to-head comparison will illuminate their strengths and weaknesses.
