I love how 20 years ago, the back-flip was THE move to win. Now it's not even guaranteed bronze if you do multiple back-flip variations and/or double back-flips.. This sport is now a real life video game.
It's ridiculous, and idk something is off to me. I find myself bored with these runs. No doubt they are doing insane flips, but how is it with all these flips am I bored? Every jump is a flip and just seems like the same trick no matter what variation is done. I miss the old days of 125's and 250's ripping every corner and making the most of every second out there on the course. There's no excitement, or originality anymore. No wonder it's lost mainstream coverage.
@@NaritasanStudios i agree 80 % of the hits are a back flip combo of some sort. I love the tricks but when they do a can can or regular supermans, now they say "that's a vintage trick/old school trick" And the reason the sport has evolved so much is the size of the ramps. I rememeber watching the very first nitro circus and seeing the bmx riders throwing down triple backflips and 4 or 5 tailspins like whaaaaaatttttt!!!!!! Video game mode lol but the size or ramps and kickers has the guys going higher which equals more hang time which equals more time to do the tricks
Don’t get me wrong Axells property is badass but watching this just makes me miss the Collesium and Staples and how the X-Games was back in the 2000’s. Big stadiums big crowds and the energy was just different
Totally agree, this feels like a glorified practice for these guys.Without the fans it's just not the same and doesn't have the electricity and excitement. Yes it's still amazing and I'm grateful for being able to watch but I think about the crowd at X Fighters,or the Coliseum
I think the stark varg will put the nail in the fmx coffin because things will get so dangerous it won't even be worth it. Get ready for sextuple backflips. Btw if you don't get what I'm talking about electric bikes just have an open gear. A motocross bike can only spin the tire so fast slightly bringing the front wheel up. On a powerful electric MX bike the thing will literally start to back flip just by giving it throttle because the wheel can spin almost limitlessly fast causing an out of control gyro effect.
Yall the competition design is amazing. Back to back hits in most of the competitions and then keep it going is where the future of xgames is. you cant go much bigger on big air so now lets link multiple big air runs! Such stoke.
What else can be done? Every year I come back to watch and each year I ask myself why I even bothered. Same tricks for 20 years gets old. I miss the days of Travis Pastrana vs Metal Mulisha and the mad mike Jones era. The 90's riders set the tone and invented every trick known to man. Now it's just flat lined, and that's sad to say when these young athletes are risking their lives for a piece of metal around their neck. Freestyle MX is dead.
I’m a track rider, I’m in the 450 class but the most I can do is a side whip I can’t do no backflips 😂. My family says I’m crazy like no look at this foo doing all these type of jumps and tricks.
@@MrDogtown22 can’t what??, do backflips and all those tricks of course I can’t. The most I do is a side whip even when I hit a side whip it’s heavy asffc.
I hope freestyle motocross is the next action sport to join the Olympics. Subdivisions for skateboarding and BMX like halfpipe and dirt are inevitable in the coming years, but we need freestyle motocross to join next.
Agreed. It's almost hit a wall on difficulty. I think that's because there aren't enough characters in the sport, so it's about difficulty instead of creativity. People like Adelberg who is doing INSANE tricks is amazing, but he doesn't have any signatures. Nothing that he himself created, nothing that signifies who he is. He sort of reminds me of Jamie Bestwick in BMX when he was the man. Loved him and he was unstoppable, but he rarely CREATED tricks, he just did tricks better than everyone else. Dave Mirra was the creator, which is why he's the GOAT to me 💯

Yeah its crazy to see all the tricks that people saved for best trick contests back in the day just being done casually during a comp run. Lol
I remember when pastrana did the first double back flip in competition.. it was the craziest stunt ever at the time. Now its almost boring lol

Hope Harry’s good. That was heavy
why are they not back at event centers with crowds?
These boys are crazy
I know you are way better than them and your jumps are double there’s
?
Jackson Strong should be 3rd and Benny Richards 4th
Great 4k quality
I feel asif freestyle MX has platoed as far as tricks go, I feel asif trail riding like Axel Does is the best thing in Freestyle now

Folks have beens saying that since the first backflip was done dude. there is NO ceiling to this sport, only more and more creativity

Probably hard to do a backflip on a 450. I assume these guys are riding 125 or 250s

💕 I really love the sport of freestyle motocross FMX is the number one best sport on gods planet earth
A run of straight front flips with hardly any variety gets gold? WHERE IS TOM PAGES?!?!
20 years ago the announcer would’ve been so full of excitement and today they are so Mundane about the tricks being done
To be fair like 95% of these tricks haven't changed for like 10 years. Kinda hard to get amped up for that
@@Arrica101 fr lol til someone does a triple backflip or something crazy like that it’s hard to really act hype by a run anymore
These guys are doing tricks that could only be done on the freakstyle game back in the day

Motorized sports are not allowed in Olympics
For a hot take, this is a really cold one
awesome to see this at the slayground.
Will you upload the full contest?
Not that what these guys do aren't insane... But its seems like we might be reaching the limits on the tricks.

Why did the live cut short and now they not replaying the whole competition
Because they're cheap.
Good job guys people dont understand the real talent that it takes to flip a beast screaming under there jahonas
14:26 ............ WHAT
is there a life flight on site ? these guys might need a heli ride to the hospital
I didn't even realize freestyle "mx" was a thing any longer. Kind of like the X Games in general...had it's time, now it's pretty much dead.
Agree man it probably only has a few years left.
These announcers have zero enthusiasm kind of ruins it.
Ain't Hodges in it?

The double front line was mad sketch idk how he won
Someone get that air horn away from that spectator!! Those should be banned from events
I dont much progression honestly. Just a bunch of flip tricks. Dont get me wrong shits hard but boring for me where everythings flips
Playing freakstyle in real life
Are these golf commentators? Way to make something exciting boring asf
Where are the w o m e n, in this wonderful competition ? Are they in a feminist protest ?
