And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.
Technics he uses in the video…. String’s with weights are to get the post into straight vertical line. The white stuff he puts before setting the post up is salt. It’s known for preventing from attacks of insects eating timber and making their nest in it. He does drawing and cutting(it’s called ‘granghee tghi’ 그랭이 뜨기 technic) on the bottom of the timber according to the shape of natural base stone, so it fits and stands by itself. It’s a traditional way of doing it. And it was one of the most important process of building Hanok. You can see him doing that in his other videos.
