The key to consistent long distance shooting is one motion shooting. Meaning, the shooting elbow extends at the same instant the knees do, and the ball is released from the hands at the same instant the feet leave the ground.
All biomechanical inconsistencies in long distance shooting are driven from:
1.Lack of heel floor contact during the dip (which is fixed by ankle dorsiflexion throughout the dip allowing the posterior chain to properly load through the heel floor contact)
    2. Over engagement of the upper trap and pectoral of the shooting arm during the release (which is fixed by scapular retraction+depression of that arm throughout the release allowing the efficient transfer of energy through the shoulder)

One of my clients was a pro basketball player. I focused a lot on maintaining good ankle mobility and freeing up the upper quadrant and forearm work, Minor glute work as well thanks for your breakdown.

Except no one actually does that. Go watch frame by frame of Trae and Steph, both shooters that are considered 'one motion,' they definitely still have contact with the hands as their feet leave the ground.
