- Extracting oil on our gas engines of our 2007 Cruisers Yachts 460 Express. Oil extraction on 10KW Koehler generator a GM 1.6L Vortec V4 engine and our Volvo Penta 8.1L gas engines
Any idea of the current draw here? Recommended for only when hooked up to shore power?
When would you use the fill function instead of just pouring in the oil?
My oil comes in single litre bottles so just easier for me to pour directly into the engines. If I had a gallon jug or even a pail of engine oil I would likely use the fill function on the Reverso
@@jeffmcgregor7626 Wouldn't using the Reverso system pump fill function pump the cruddy old oil from the black hoses back and up through the oil pan?
@@duanekimball I prefer to just pour the oil back into the engines rather than using the reverso. I use single litre or quart bottles so its simple. If I had a 5 gal pail i would likely use the reverso to fill. The reverso I’m sure gets most of the old oil out of the line but I doubt it would get everything, but it would be minimal the amount
I have the exact same boat, what is your best cruise speed at what RPM ?
I just picked up the boat so haven’t really taken a look at the numbers to say what is the best, but on the ride back to my home port I was 4200ish rpm @ about 23 knots. Sorry I don’t have any more numbers yet…. How do you like your boat?
@@jeffmcgregor7626 I love it, but I would keep the RPM on those Volvo 8.1 below 4000 rpm when your cruising for a long period of time, I ran mine at 4300 for 5 hours and blew a engine.
@@Boatingbellavita thank you for the useful information. I’ll definitely keep under 4K There will be another video coming on servicing the transmissions very soon if you are interested
