      I never watched Team 10’s content- I can’t stand either Paul brother - but taking advantage of young people who were far from fluent in English really is beyond despicable. Unsurprising, since it was Jake Paul, but disgusting nonetheless. Listening to the Paul brothers’ parents, it became pretty clear to me that the apples really didn’t fall far from the twisted tree.

      And it just shows Jake Paul’s ignorance that he’s calling two kids from Europe a disparaging term for Mexicans. It would be despicable to call them that if they WERE from Mexico; using that slur on two kids from Spain just shows what a racist AND ignorant asshat Jake Paul is. Jake’s excuse that the twins started the “banter” by calling him a cracker and a stupid white person is BS on its face. The twins MIGHT have called him a stupid American- that at least is believable (although I still don’t buy it) - but Spanish people are considered white, so I highly doubt the twins would use the term “cracker” either, which by 2017 was practically obsolete.

    As someone who has a friend directly from Spain: I absolutely do not believe Jake when he says the Martinez twins were calling everyone "cracker". He's definitely trying to save face in the wake of them revealing that he was calling them a slur to their faces bc they didn't know enough to call him on it. Even in their expose video, the boys don't have a great grasp on English. There's no way they were calling anyone a cracker without having being told to do so first. They're not going to be calling you a slur in English, they'd be using the slurs native to their own language.

      Not to mention, calling someone a “cracker” is a reference to the “cracker of the whip”. It’s more of an accusation than a slur. Still not nice to say, and racially charged for sure, but the worst he could claim was that they called people “oppressor”. Which, uh…yeah.

      Good chance they convinced her a bit that what they were doing was right as well.
      It’s actually kind of common for guys to tell younger women (usually men in a higher position of authority like an older man or a bad therapist), that they’ve been groomed or abused or treated badly by other men, and for the girls to assume they didn’t know better and accuse. Until they admit they weren’t sure, and only said it cus someone older than them convinced them and they assumed they were just in the wrong for thinking it was fine. All of this for some man to try and hurt another man using bs allegations from someone who they’ve manipulated into trusting them.

    Alissa Violet's story and impact on the YT scene is actually really interesting and sad. You can still see the lasting effects that Jake's mind games and her subsequent relationship with Banks left on her. I'm glad she's decided to focus on her offline friends instead of people like Jake Paul, Banks, and Chantel Jeffries.
    Also after Shane Dawson diminished her abuse to her face to try and make everyone have sympathy for Jake & her best friend at the time (Erika) replacing her as Jake's new girl even after listening to Alissa confided in her about the abuse she endured. If she hadn't gained trauma through Jake, I really don't think she would've stayed as long as she did with Banks. It's left her much more vulnerable and susceptible to those looking to take advantage of her.

      @@halieeWhere did she monetize her abuse? The disstrack she made did not ever mention his abuse. If she hopped on a track singing about how he abused her and flexing in cars while doing so, then yes, that'd be odd and that would be her monitizing it, but she did not.
      He provoked the situation by creating a disstrack against her and she retaliated in the same way that he initially did. There's no point in blaming the victim and skipping over how Jake was the first to start the disstracks. You say she's trying to get the "last laugh" but what do you want her to do? Stay quiet while Jake monetizes her situation? The double standards are crazy here. Her doing those disstracks doesn't absolve or invalidate her abuse story and it's sad you think that way.

    Some of those stunts that you showed were horrifically dangerous. If things had gone just slightly differently in those stunts, if the bodies of the people in the clips were at just a slightly different angle, we could be living in a world where Team 10 ended not because of Jake Paul's social ineptitude and lack of empathy but his brand permanently being marked by the death of someone who was put into a very early grave due to his recklessness and the culture that he fostered around himself.
    I mean, that bike going into that pool, if that thing had gone just a bit faster or gotten a bit more air and the head of the person lined up with the edge of the pool...

      While I see the point that you two are making, I feel like death and its finality would have had more of an impact than serious injury. Maybe it shouldn't, maybe it should, that's beside the point.
      When someone dies, we lose who they were in this world. That isn't the case when they get seriously injured. You can come back from a serious injury. You can still experience joy, happiness, give your company to those who love you when seriously injured.
      That's not the case for death. For all we know, and as far as many people believe, once you die, you, your memories, experiences, personality, all of it effectively just get deleted from existence. Even those who believe that death isn't the end, the fact of the matter is that they can no longer interact with or influence the world, they can't be there for encouragement or telling jokes, or sharing their insight.
      As such, society takes death far more seriously and while serious injury might not have done the T10 lot in, I feel like a death would have been more likely to do that to them and also stain the reputation of anyone even associated.

    • @RandomPerson-ti7qx
      @RandomPerson-ti7qx Рік тому +19

      @@Xokoy While that's true, serious injury would also put a stain on it and would certainly make people think about it (as a bonus, no one dies). We've seen it happen with movies, people wondering if the pain was worth it. I know there's even one director that people say gets good results, but wonder if his methods are worth those results, since it leads to lasting psychological issues.
      Not to mention, the ones getting injured wouldn't have been Jake and would've probably wanted to leave because they were in harm's way at that damned house. Would've been super serious and irrefutable as well.

Either way, he told a story where he was visiting family and one of his nephews(?) jumped off a bridge. Not a transit bridge or anything ,just a small rock pathway bridge into a stream below. Still, it was dangerous. If the kid flipped in the air or really changed trajectory at all, he coulda ended up getting really fucked up. Thankfully, that didnt' happen. Another adult went in and got him out.
      Keem ran up to them and asked understandably why he had done something so utterly fucking stupid. The kid responded "Was just bein' a maverick, bruh."
      That stuck with me, to the point I remember it even today. naaaah dont do that. that would excuse logan and jake who were also 18-22 at the time. That is not a kid, that is an adult, and by that age you should be well-aware of right from wrong, tons of 18-22 year olds working jobs and school at the same time, or even starting families. and they tend to get away with so much for being called kids. Jake was 19 when he did most of these things, but its no excuse

    • @ma.2089
      @ma.2089 Рік тому +39

      That’s what abuse does. They’re desperate for that validation. A lot of manipulators/abusers do a fantastic job at demeaning their victims and making them believe they’re in the wrong and they deserve the way they’re being treated. They’ll also gaslight them and make them doubt themselves, as well as alienate them from support and objective outsiders who would tell that the abuser is in the wrong.
      It takes a lot of time to rebuild their self esteem and even longer for them to escape depending on how violent they are since the retaliation would obviously be damaging (be it emotional or physical. Seeing as he’s literally assaulted her, fear of physical retaliation would also keep her “in line”). Either way, even if they do escape, a lot of victims will get into other abusive relationships cuz they’ve normalized the abuse and might still think they deserve it.

If you have money and can bring some views that normally wouldent look at wrestling Then Mcmahon will be MORE then happy to take your cash. I have yet to talk with a Long term wwe fan that did not see his inclusion as just that Greed and a attempt to pull in a younger crowd. Makes me think of jobs where they try to get you to do a ton of over time because your coworkers are your "family". They use that to try to guilt trip you into doing extra work, sometimes for no extra pay. The lines between employer and "friend/family" are so blurred. I feel like Jake needs more life experience or to actually work at more traditional jobs to understand those dynamics. Doubt he would do the latter as long as he can avoid it, although that's probably true for most people. Lol.

    The "you wouldn't be anywhere as [distance/power/etc] without [group/person/me]" is a pathetic response. It doesn't matter if your existence or actions propelled X user or Y group to fame - because your actions *alone* wouldn't guarantee that. If someone (or some group) got farther or more famous or richer due to you - it's because *they were to obtain that* and you simply fast forwarded the process of an audience growing to like said group/person. It's like a shark tank product that blows up in revenue - it doesn't matter whether or not the sharks caused that product to hit millions, because it *would* have hit millions *with or without* them - they just *sped up the process* and that's it. So no matter whether you (as an individual or a corporation) think that you're the reason someone "made it" or not doesn't matter, what *does* matter is how you handle your relationship with said other(s) and moving forward. Too many nimwits power tripping, and I hope that father succumbs to something awful in the future for those words ( 1:00:36 ); And proving he's someone with that mentality. You're a trash father (parent, don't have to be male) if you ever have that mentality, and I can see how you've created awful offspring. He's probably the same parent that'll demand they deserve respect just for being blood related and/or your parents (biological or not).. which is false, and is the backbone of a *lot* of emotional issues that can be permanent; Because of young children thinking no matter how awful of a person or action a relative (close or far) is, that they deserve respect.
    If you ever meet someone who says words similar to what that father said (you, reader of this comment), start figuring out how to cut ties. Anyone with that mentality is trying to grow as a bigger leech of funds/fame/power. If they ever state that, they view you as under them and they will *not* let that image change as long as they see fit possible. They will always find a way to be on top of you, even if every metric measurable can be proven otherwise. If it's a boss, figure out if there's even one avenue of advancing up the chain without their approval/help. If not, start looking for other options. If it's a family member, focus on leaving them in the dust as soon as safely possible (don't rush it if you can, be safe about your actions). Nobody with that mentality is a good person. Are they a financially stable person? Almost guaranteed. Financial stability is easier when you don't empathize or care for other's financial or emotional situations. But they will never care for your life as much as a friendship or any form of relationship should.
    You are only entitled to the titles your peers, friends, and family see fit to bestow on you - not the other way around. If you know of someone who cannot put themselves under you in any way, shape, or form - you must know the hill is steeper than 90 degrees.
