Hey guys! Today I'm sharing this quick eye makeup tutorial packed with purple! I think purple eyeshadow works so well with brown eyes (or really any color lol) so I hope you enjoy it :) This look has been requested a lot, it's what I was wearing in my eyeshadow collection video and in my reveal pic of my emerald hair!

Kelli Marissa I’ve been exfoliating and moisturizing like a mad woman My skin is just starting to get better after being so dry. I was stuck outside. Of course I lost my home on the coldest day/night of the year. It was brutal out there! I slept at a shelter but they don’t let you stay inside other than sleep and meals.

I always wear purple because it makes my eyes look greener.
I feel like it's the best color to make my eyes look brown, so many other colors I wear make them look hazel haha

I have dark green eyes and very pale skin. Purple makes my green pop too. It also makes me look like I have black eyes. I do sometimes use a purple eyeliner on my top lash line though. I have a dark olive color eye liner that’s close to my eye color that works well too. What other colors have been successful for you?

You can avoid patchiness on shimmers by trying to avoid layering them over mattes or at least not a lot of them or alternatively using a stickier base as you said or use them wet. And try to blend around the shimmers cause those buggers tend to disappear if a fluffy brush touches them 😂😂😂

I love this look ! I did a similar look using the profusion wanderlust palette!! The purples were very pigmented
Everyone keeps telling me to buy these profusion palettes but I feel like the colors are so neutral anytime I see them in stores lol!!

Try using a cream eyeshadow or shadow stick in the lid shade🙂it'll help intensify the colour and I usually use a concealer and set it with powder on my lids🙂when I ser my lids it gives a soft base🙂also just using a nude shadow with whatever undertone before the transition color will help smooth out the colors🙂
Gorgeous! My niece just turned 13 and is starting to get into makeup. She just got her first eyeshadow palette (elf 18 Hit Wonders) and I can see how I can dupe this for her. One trick for that Amethyst shadow is to use it on a wet brush (setting spray with glycerin in the ingredients-it's why Mac Fix+ is a cult favorite). You can also use NYX Glitter Glue with shimmers to get them to really pop. I mix them together on the back of my hand or if there isn't any base shadow, directly on the lid.

I’ve been loving the purple eyeshadow looks you’ve been wearing lately. I think I’m going to have to pick up this palette. I’ve been so disappointed by “purple” palettes that have come out over the past while that are more pink/magenta than purple. I don’t mind that little patchy spot. I appreciate more down to earth realistic videos and it teaches us that it’s something that can happen easily and be easily missed, and that probably isn’t even noticeable in person vs on camera like you said.

Having hooded eyelids makes applying eyeliner very challenging 🤨
Gorgeous 🤩🤩🤩 I love putting a highlight right under my brow, but I usually put my base shadow color all the way up to my brows. So the highlight is going over that base color. Maybe that's why I notice it much.
Haha yeah I think I would do it for more dramatic looks but this didn't really make a difference for me!

"When I am an old woman, I will wear purple..." eyeshadow. 😂 That poem gives me permission to do all sorts of things. My grandmother would always wear purple (for dress clothes, she was a farmer otherwise) when she was 65+ and multiple necklaces and it looked really good somehow. Sometimes I do crazy eyeshadow looks in the evening, at home, different eyes, and then I take my makeup off.
Next time use your brush wet for the shimmer shades or even use nyxs glitter primer (or any kind of glitter primer) either is great
Love the look and purple is my favorite color, especially with brown eyes. Do you use an eyeshadow primer or concealer on your eyes before applying the shadows? I find that the shadow blends out easier if I use a primer or concealer. Thanks for the tut!
You have such a gift for selecting and blending eyeshadows---beautifully done! Question: do you wash your eyeshadow brushes every day?
Omg absolutely not haha!! I try to do them every couple of weeks but until they're washed, I just keep using the used brushes on the same color. Which is why you usually see me wearing similar eye colors for a few videos in a row haha!

I might try this look. I’m more of a neutral kind of person for make up, but I love this look.
The way I try weird makeup colors is I do them after work/on the weekend when I don’t have anywhere to go, that way I can walk around my house and get used to it and see if it suits me hahaha
Kelli Marissa well colors really do suit you. I hate some, but they really do look good on you.
My favorite color is yellow but I LOVE wearing purple makeup and polish so I especially loved this look. If you're looking for a good palette for purples try the Morphe 39S Such a Gem palette. It's Gorgeous and works great. Then you'll have another palette but so worth it 😉🤣💜

Love the eye look 😍 I have a question. Whenever I paint my nails, after my top coat I let it dry for so long but it doesn't matter coz it always get impressions next morning. How can I prevent that??
Get a better topcoat. Preferably one that's thick, glossy, and quick-dry.
The better ones will dry within 20 minutes to an hour and will create a thick, glass-like layer over your polish.

Rabina Kashyap INM Out The Door somewhere around $4. It’s my favorite quick dry topcoat. I know a lot of people like Seche Vite about $9 I like it as well. But I know it doesn’t play well with certain brands of polish. Specially Zoya for me.

Yes these comments are right, a quick dry top coat makes a huge difference! Seche Vite is easily available in stores!

Absolutely gorgeous! Watching you do makeup makes me wanna run out and buy a colorful pallet and try to replicate your looks. But then I stop and think "Why waste your money, you're too lazy to take time to put makeup on! And ya don't know what the h*ll youre doing!" 😂 I've never consistently worn makeup. My motto is, if it takes 20 minutes to do my makeup that's 20 extra minutes I can sleep. 😂

OMG, Kelli, I seriously looove this eye look so much!! I've been wanting to do purple eye looks but nervous to. There is this purple and golden look I have my mind set on and I know how to blend good my only issue is the crease area.... Ugh! I can never seem to get that area to look right ever lol. Hey Amber! Tbh I'm not sure I have any tips aside from what I share in my videos haha it's just all about trial and error for me, I feel like the more I practice the easier it gets! But then I'll have days like this where it's just not properly blended lol
Ber / Amber H. For me, the key was to use the right brushes and customize the crease shape to my eyes. A good pointed blending brush really helps (i.e. Sigma E45 - haven't found a lower priced substitute for this).

Purple is always hard to blend no matter the palette
It looks great on you but on my 57 year old, I work nights, eyes, it would migrate into my wrinkles and look horrible...
Haha I do feel like these types of colors migrate into my wrinkles but it's worth it!
Why title it "drug store"...? Click bait, as NONE of those brands are in "drug stores" 😒
These are both considered drugstore brands because of the low price point. Both are available in stores at Ulta, which carries drugstore makeup :)
Ok lol my personal definition of drug store means I can impulse run to a 24 hour Walgreens etc and satisfy my need for immediate gratification 😂
I thought the same thing. bh and colour pop aren’t available at drug stores like target/cvs lol ulta is a beauty store but I do appreciate actually having a palette in a tutorial to follow along with- came out so pretty!
