My husband is a drummer. He has been playing since age 7 and he's 56. About 5 years ago he was in a heavy cover band and they did this song, Sober, and one other but I can't remember the name. It was through him that I was introduced to Tool. Such a unique and creative band!!
Loved sharing this one with you! I knew this one would give you the energy and get youplaying the air instruments! Lex, the word punch you used , is a really great way to explain tools heavy tracks! They are amazing musicians and play so well together! The create such a unique fricking sound! So many layers! Thanks for reacting! I appreciate you both so much! Thanks for being so amazing! Love you! So excited for you guys! That concert is going to be epic!!!🤟🏻
I saw them in 93’ I believe and then again in 2006. The 10,000 days tour was the best show I have ever seen. It was Kansas City and Danny being from Paola Kansas put on a killer show! 4 hours worth. No opening band… fucking INCREDIBLE!
The beauty of this song in my opinion is the lyrics , what the song is talking about (ascension) through clearing of the shadow, the music of course is amazing . With tool though the lyrics are very important .
This has always been one of my favorite Tool songs even since it first came out. The whole album is absolutely top shelf and unique, but this is definitely one of the standout tracks.
So happy you guys are finally going to see Tool live. I recently turned 50 and have been going to see live bands since I was 15 in 1988. I've seen Tool a few times over the last 30 years, but I saw them last year here in the UK and they were just mind blowing. I've seen a lot of bands and been to a lot of gigs and festivals in the last 35 years but that Tool show last year was seriously up there as one of the best live shows I've ever witnessed. Absolutely amazing.
I had never listened to Tool before I started watching this channel. Now I'm a fan. Thanks Nick and Alexia! I think the drum cam video sealed the deal xx
Great reaction, guys. It's unmistakable how much Tool influenced music. I think it's often understated. Even DREAM THEATER was inspired and even discussed being influenced by them in an interview once, on their track "Home". This song never gets old. I think it's one of their absolute sharpest songs in terms of writing and performance, and probably their "greatest hit" so to speak aside from Sober. I've always loved how the song is *about* evolution and it literally evolves from 4/4 to 7/8 by the end of the song during the instrumental section. Genius.
I love Tool, but by the way, The Warning will be at Marquis Theater, in Denver (I understand that you two live there), in May 9. You should go to the show, they are amazing playing live.
Tool is fantastic live, usually their sets are about an hour and 40 minutes and then they are done, throwing picks and drum heads and taking a bow; GnR is also fantastic live but their sets are usually about 3 and half hours, seen them both a bunch of times. Also Maiden back in the day for the Piece of Mind tour and that was pretty amazing, but they're not really my thing any more. Three days of concerts does sound amazing though...
Seen Tool once and Metallica twice and loved them. Forty Six & 2 is great song. It has a deep meaning which has to do with our genome and us continuing to evolve.
Genial, me encanta cuando escuchan a TOOL, me gustaría que lo hicieran más seguido :) y que envidia que vayan a ver a TOOL. ,espero que vengan a México este año
Rolling bass thunder grunge Alexia went savage with the air drums when they kicked In. Great air drums throughout saw Nick beat up the tom-toms in that middle section. Classic ending super crunchy.
This is not a negative comment, just an observation, Cool? Trying to describe some music, is like trying to describe, an odor, a taste, etc. you can only say so much, you just have to FEEL it, to transcend the 5 sense realm, where mere vocal descriptions are at best opinion. But, we all feel the Universal emotion. Some channels 'talk' the thing to death, and completely miss the meaning. They never take the time to feel it, just constant interruptions. Good Job guys.
To bad you didn’t get to see tool in the early 2000’s, Maynard’s screams were legendary!!!! He obviously has had to change up on those older songs but still delivers an amazing performance 💯
Take care not to "Nickelback" Creed! Alexa is right! Listen to all the other Creed songs besides the hits... You might be surprised. Remember the core of Creed became Alter Bridge!
Tool, Rush , Dream Theater, King Crimson, and a few other major prog bands have that style you can't replicate. If you want something somewhat similar, try Soen's first album.
anybody want to take me to a recent tool concert, i'm up for it :) seen em for Undertow and after Aneima, but i'm priced out these days :) did just see Maynard with Pucifer last month.... fuckin blew my mind.. but only tool can take me to the edge.
Just checked out the website for this show your talking about. First of all I don't see Tool on the lineup list. Second 600 was the cheapest ticket. Are you kidding me?
Not sure why you can’t see Tool on there but they’re the last band playing, after Metallica. And yes, tickets are crazy up there but at least it’s six bands! And worth it for us as we’ve only seen one of these love before!
Have fun, when I saw the lineup of Powertrip I was amazed, ...but when when I saw what was the organisation, I was less hyped. Those festivals made for Instagram / rich people are really not my cup of tea.
@@NicknLex Ah, I see . You limit on purpose . That is like buying a lottery ticket but avoid looking at it until you hear if the ticket was purchased in the store where you played the numbers and then you give it another 24 hours only to find out some other guy won . Not sure why I came up with this theory . Not like it happened to me.
I guess because metalica is so popular they get to have TOOL a much better band opening for them but would rather have a band like Deftones or Dream Theatre open for TOOL. Maybe even Opeth or however their band name is spelled. Went to metalica concert back in I believe 2019 before Covid hit and they didn’t sound as good as I thought they would given it was inside the Forum in LA which is known for good sound and acoustics. They should retire or replace some of the band members with musicians that are elite at their chosen instrument. Mainly Kirk and Lars and I’m sure they would sound better and maybe inject a new sound to their typical metalica style and rythm.
Hopefully that is the last time you use Tool and Creed in the same sentence. I’ve been in the Tool Army since high school in ‘93 and we have some fanatical fans I hope you don’t get backlash. Seriously.
that's what I hate about the Tool fans - they are the most intolerant. You are not allowed to play one note that sounds like Tool and they scream Copy and they don't accept any word of critic ..... that's simply ridiculous ... is Tool a sect ?
You guys are adorable! Like mayonnaise on white bread, both of you are becoming a rarer species and must be protected at all costs!
That is SO sweet 🥹 Thank you for your kindness! 💕

Saw Tool in 1996 and 2006. I've been to a ton of concerts and Tool is the best live band I've ever seen. Your gonna have a blast! I'm so jelly

I've been to 16 shows and my need for more is forever insatiable.
@@markbuston3987 I feel like from what ive seen 10k days tour looked like some of their best shows they've ever done. Pretty underrated era imo.
Saw them in 2001 but would have love to saw Tool in 97'-98'
Gotta' say, it's fun to watch the mild mannered Lex switch into heavy metal mode. It appears that the conversion is complete. Excellent work, Nick.
Thank you! I am happy she converted over from indie rocker to metal head!
@@NicknLex Me too!!!😊
If you are a rock fan and you haven't seen TOOL live, your life is not complete. Have fun at the concert guys!

Being a headbanger from the late 70s era Tool tops them all
This has always been one of my favorite Tool songs even since it first came out.

Nick looked so offended when Lex compared Tool to Creed 😂
She's such a sweetheart, but Creed of all band comparisons!!?? 🥴🤮
I had never listened to Tool before I started watching this channel. Now I'm a fan. Thanks Nick and Alexia! I think the drum cam video sealed the deal xx
I am no longer a Tool virgin. And hey...they are cool. Tool is cool.
Thanks Eric & Fam!
Uh oh…get ready for it..
TOOL ARMY UNITE!!
🤘🏻❤️👍🏻❤️👊🏻
I haven't heard this in years. Headphones UP! Thanks Eric, n NicknLex. Cheers 🤘😎👍
I saw Tool here in Phoenix last year, their music puts you in a trance. I had to fight from keeping my eyes closed while in that trance.
Bout time y’all dive back into the Toolbox!🤟🏼
⚒T⚙⚙L🛠 Yes, please.
Flying from Detroit to Sacramento to see Tool with my bro and 2 Nephues on 10/6. It’ll be my 6th Tool concert, one of my nephue’s 12th. Enjoy
Great reaction, guys.

Lateralus concert was so good, it forever changed me !
The hologram depication, in the enveloping of Aenima CD case - you will see a leaning and very dark gray humanoid-like figure: He is 'H'
The TOOL rabbit hole goes deep!
Lol at the eyeroll when she mentioned creed.
If you know Frame By Frame from King Crimson, Justin's bass riff intro in this is a jumble of Tony Levin's.

alot of Tool songs i can't wait for you guys to experience.....
Yes!!! I have my my tickets to Aftershock in Sacramento to see Tool!
Killer show that y'all are going to. Seen every band that is showing up. Wishing a blast of good times! YeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaa
And do remember, for those, that of NUTBUSH and not Netbush CITY LIMITS - Bob Seger & Silver Bullet Band
Welcome to the Tool ARMY!

Pushit next ... then the live version off the Salival album, which is significantly different and equally amazing.
Check out the O’keefe Music Academy version of this. it’s kids doing Forty 6 and 2. very cool.
Aenima is favorite album of Tool and 'Intermission > Jimmy' on this particular album and so to overall as well.!
Mindcrime on display in the background there. Nice. This was cool guys!
Awesome assessment. Enjoy the gig. It’s nothing short of surreal.
Have seen all those bands live. EPIC experience it will be an amazing time
This is my favorite Tool song… Other than the other ones 🌀
Rolling bass thunder grunge Alexia went savage with the air drums when they kicked In. Great air drums throughout saw Nick beat up the tom-toms in that middle section. Classic ending super crunchy.

Maynard is a genius.
Maynard did an hour and a half interview on Stevo's wild ride
@@trumphatesyou Also saw him on Rick Beato.
46and2 cover by the kids from the O'Keefe music foundation, unbelievable
Their first masterpiece. Later Lateralus. And now Pneuma.

I'll be going to Aftershock the same weekend. G&R, Tool, A7X, Pantera, Korn, incubus, Godsmack, Limp Bizkit, and about 60 others over 4 days.
Justin Chancellors bass tone is so great!
IMHO this their best song
you really need to check out Eulogy from the same album
Nice that show is gonna rock all cool bands
Lol Creed
Toolarmy represent 🔥🔥☀️☀️🔨🔨
Dream theater has the almost exact same riff in one of there songs after this song.
Do you mean the song home ?
No the Great debate.
@@frankydominguez6581 Right!! I have to show that one to Alexia. Six degrees is a masterpiece
Yeah show her it’s a great album.
The Great Debate. Almost the same riff but more metal vibe.
Take care not to "Nickelback" Creed!

guys you need to check out 1998 prog all-stars album Explorers Club - Age Of Impact! featuring Bozzio, Petrucci and many others!
And not to confuse anyone here; the word 'depication', does have mathematical value and definition and so to meaning that of a "manifest language"
There's a kid's music school version that is pretty excellent.
I LOVE TOOL LOL TY FOR REACTING TO THEM !!!!!
Dream theater started it for me then tool took over

My Own Prison... 1997

Aww thanks!! 🥰
Big Rush influences here.
Are you referencing, the song WHAT IF by Creed in a rhythmic similarity Lex?
YES!!!!!! THANK YOUUU
It's not even the same riff in that Creed song... that came years after this song was written.
If you want to hear something cool there a kid's band that does a cover of this it's amazing. Just search kids cover of 46 and 2

check our channel pls. We have been covering prog rock and metal for 2 years now. And we play it on our instruments too.
As cheesy as this may sound, Tool is more of an experience than a band. Keep going down the rabbit hole and Spiral Out...
