That moment when you watch Reliving the War as soon as it comes out....only to realize you have to wait another whole week for the next episode. Best wrestling content on UA-cam.
I started watching reliving the war after he posted the June 16th, 1997 episode I binged every episode & even stopped myself a few times when I realized I was getting too close to being caught up It took me 3 weeks to get caught up
Welcome to Thursday Afternoon Reliving the War. Simply the best program about Pro Wrestling on the UA-cam and the Internet. Thank you once again for giving us this trip down memory lane.
Of all the addiction stories in Wrestling History I'm glad that someone finally had the guts to bring light to Davey Boy Smith's lesser known battle against being a Chinlockaholic Thank you for doing this story the justice it so deserves
I recall being 11 years old and marking out for it. I’ve always been a huge fan of DDP and I got asked him about this when I met him back in 2016. He said it was one of his all time favorite “coolest things he’d ever done in wrestling”.
The next 4 weeks of RAW felt like an intense Hockey or NBA playoff series. With home court advantage changing back and forth. As a Canadian, perhaps my favorite month of wrestling EVER.
Your series has given me a new respect for Bret Hart. My dad used to tell me all the time how amazing he was back in the day, now I see it in action. It also helps that I’m Canadian and a diehard Oilers fan 🇨🇦🧡
It’s been the same for me. Although I’m not a Canadian. I was never that big a Bret Hart fan back in the day. It’s only as I’ve grown older I’ve come to appreciate his work more. This series is helping a lot with this too. 97, for me was the greatest year in pro wrestling, ever. The Canada VS USA storyline played a big part in that. It was such a unique storyline. I wonder what would have happened to Bret Harts career had he been able to stay in the WWF post Survivor Series 97.
The Canadian Pride in government didn't age well after this weekend F castros son and the Junior prime ministers granddaughter of a Nazi showed how it treats its people
I just realized that since this started with the first episode of nitro, we’re 9 weeks away from Lugar winning the world title… at least that’s what my Steiner math says.
4 more actually. Which is weird since Luger won on the 100th nitro but the episode would be the 95th. I'm guessing there were nights were only one show aired and so WB skipped them.
@@didymus3348 They are covered (episodes 21.5, 23.5 and 46.5). "The Story of the First Nitro" also features an unopposed show.. so that's the 4 you're looking for. Every unopposed show has an upload on the channel. Check the playlist.
Congratulations sir you have a new subscriber. This is the first time I watched any of your videos and I absolutely love them so now I'm going to go back and rewatch every one of reliving the wars
love these episodes man miss this time period i was glad to be alive during this era of wrestling and watching it, thanks wrestlingbios for this bringing back so much memories of these man thanks always look forward to these episodes every thursday thanks so much wrestlingbios.
DDP revealing himself when he pinned the Macho Man is still funny. Scott Hall didn't know what happened. It certainly is one of the best moments of Nitro.
Future highlights: Luger's biggest moment in WCW: August 4. 1997. Kane's first appearance: October 5, 1997 Jericho's heel turn: January 24, 1998 Spoiler for next week: The WWF debut of Dude Love.
Another stellar episode as usual sir, I look forward to Thursdays because of RtW. Sure it would be easy to just go back and watch all of this stuff myself but your commentary and view point on things is so refreshing and makes it "must see" UA-cam. Thank you very much for all you do for your fans.
I wish I could have watched WCW and WWF back in 1997. I'm enjoying these episodes of Reliving the War. You've got great humor and I'm over here trying to hold in my laughter. I'm going to have to rewatch from the beginning.
GG Allin reference, a Triumph the Insult Comic Dog reference, a D'Lo Brown chinlock! this episode has it all. I'll be ordering me a Bret's Jam shirt this weekend. keep up the great work!
I get the Taka support. I remember when I was still basically a mark, it was "THIS AWESOME JAPANESE GUY.. Against that nobody who we won't even hype". It's human nature to root for the underdog!
Watching the attitude era of wrestling for the first time in my life (I didnt exist back in 97) and austin just became the biggest heel for me when he hit mankind
I love this scene/moment. I use it as a reference when attempting to break down multiple aspects in life. It is such a pertinent and exemplary example of why Marvel is so wonderful and thought provoking on many different levels.

Honestly don't think I've laughed harder than seeing the stock footage used for the bearer promo this series is absolutely the fuckin jam
I laughed like a hyena.
@@scottturner3831 and I took care of Horsemen Business.
At first I was like "Oh no not again" But the first image was too much and it won me over.
I'm glad Wrestling Bios has the JAM to make these videos every week👍
these videos are….AWESOME!
I could listen to WrestlingBios do an anti-chinlock PSA series.
Don't joke about that, my brother died doing a chinlock
@@downnice95 unfortunately he didn’t have the jam to be doing all them chinlocks, rip.
My favorite captions quote from this episode has to be 32:35
"Golddust has to rig the head mans eyes" Classic!
Haha. Yes that would be great.^^ How do you guys think he looks like? Sounds like a nice looking oncle.
@@MideonProductions explain NOW!!👇🏼
Brian Lawler was so underrated. His run in the USWA, early WWF and even during the first year of TNA was so awesome. RIP
For real. He had natural heat. He just had a face that you just want to punch.
It would be interesting to see what the landscape of wrestlers would look like today had we not lost so many people to drugs.
PLEASE show more of Paul Bearer screaming “ MURDERER” as much as possible.
I second that motion.

Your nicknames are hilarious. I get a kick out of “Hector Erector” and I also chuckled at “Buffito” 😂
MIKER BIKER LIKER.
Giant Package makes me laugh every week
Buffito is a taco you can buy here in Buffalo,NY😎
don't forget Cheaterdust
Lol hector erector lol
You deserve to have at least a million subs. Every episode is gold.
I would bet alot of the old wrestlers talked about in this series watch it, I know DDP and Xpac watch it.
That moment when DDP pretended to be La Parka was one of the top 10 iconic moments on Nitro. Amazing stuff.
The crowd reaction was incredible!
I recall being 11 years old and marking out for it. I’ve always been a huge fan of DDP and I got asked him about this when I met him back in 2016. He said it was one of his all time favorite “coolest things he’d ever done in wrestling”.

I was at this Raw back in 1997. Great memories.

@@martynodonnell8467 nothing will ever come close to '97 wrestling. '98 was a good year too but nothing beats '97.

They say all men are created equal.
Perfect timing! I was starting to feel like I needed a chinlock or two.
I was at this show! 13 year old me was so stoked and had an amazing time. Those guys at the beginning are pure Albertans too. Nothing's changed here.
I love the chin lock addiction talk. Makes me chuckle every time.
Dude, I just love your sense of humor. Keep on rockin!
Dude this "show" is the only appointment television I have. Thursday after work. Reliving the War. Another brilliant episode. Thanks, boss!
I’m so proud of Davey. He’s got the jam for staying 3 weeks sober from chin locks, while being surrounded by those dirty, chin lock using, hyenas
He's putting in the work. So proud... *wipes tear*

The bandana joke made me laugh so hard. Well done. 😅
A moment of zen, thank you Wrestling Bios

I don’t know why, but the Blockbuster is a damn beautiful move
Ive found most "buster" moves are awesome looking. The Brain, Muscle, and Spine busters are also lovely when done by the right person
This series is getting funnier with each episode. You're killing me man!
13:49 the debut of Vicious and Delicious matching "brick" attire

YES, couldn't wait to see how Davey Boys chinlock sobriety was going! Best part of Thursdays!
You severely under-rate Bulldog's chin locks. They were the thing of legends.
Bret, Owen and Davey Boy in Oilers jerseys just looks right!
It's a shame that Bret Owen & Bulldog didn't hold all the belts at the same time.
The reason why Thursdays are worth wild to enjoy
La DDParka is one of the legendary moments of the Monday Night War.
I like how you keep updating the graphics to reflect what's currently "hot" on both shows

45 year's old and get excited when this comes on.
According to DDP, the only people who knew beforehand he was in the LA Parka suit where Bischoff, Savage, Sullivan, Orndorff and LA Parka himself.
I love Mark Curtis' gun fires! Keep those up!😆
These stock footage montages have me in fits every time. Keep it up
The Paul Bearer interview was 🔥. Loved it
Entertaining stuff as ever, bloody funny. Loved the LODland pics, and the nicknames too. Made me LMAO
Sunny Days Inn
This series is the best thing on the internet, and I'm so glad there is literally 4 more years worth of content on the way.
Oh. My. Goodness. Had to pause the video just to comment on the Mark Curtis bubble gun. That was absolute gold 🤣🤣🤣 and then the stock footage 🤣🤣

I've watched every single one so far and it certainly doesn't feel like 91 episodes.
Good content :D
Poor Davey.. He can't escape the hell that is chin-lock addiction and the devastation of withdrawals..
How brave of Davey to stay clean this week even with D'lo throwing the chinlocks in his face like that!

The more I'm reminded of how over DDP was, the more his WWE run pains me.
Vince does that to everyone who has any sort of talent and not just like 3 moves....I mean, look at the roster,
