Btw it was not sweet manis sauce. Manis is Indonesian word for sweet. So it is the same. What you mean by sweet manis sauce is sweet soy sauce, or in Indonesia we call it Kecap Manis. Kecap = Soy sauce, and Manis = Sweet.
Food Ranger, I have watched your Indonesian Food Videos over and over and over and over again. Wowww makes my stomach growling. I'm Indonesian who lives in Canada. Your video makes me so proud of our Indonesian Food Varieties but also makes me missing my hometown so bad 😭😭😭😭😭 next time you come back, please try Batak Food it's a North Sumatran Cuisine. Sooooooooooo GOOD! God bless you 🙏
Indonesia have a lot of cultures and soo many varieties of food! it's because Indonesia is an archipelago country. different island that means different food
Audy W jeezz u, a bloody hell low level creature should not exist for much longer time. You must crawl back to your nasty cave called unknown species lab. There's no way ur brain could be fixed.
I regret watching this :'( it's in the middle of the night here in malaysia and it makes me craving for indonesian food now.. how I miss jakarta so much..
I think he's one of the best vlogger at appreciate and describe new food and culture! I enjoy to watch how you look really passionate and don't hesitate to try new things
Thanks to all my brothers from all over the country that has come to my country, Indonesia is divided from several islands of the island of Sumatra, Java, kalimantan, sulawesi, Bali and others.. You must come one by one and enjoy the unique foods of each region. We very much appreciate that you and the world remain at peace
I don't know why am i crying while watching this video, trevor's expression for indonesian foods just insanely touching me, thank you so much for appreciating our culture and foods! God bless you❤️ #proudtobeindonesian
1. Rice porridge (bubur ayam) Looking good, but you have to mix them before eating it so the spices and seasoning could be evenly distributed and tastier. 2. Nasi rames (mixed rice) and nasi goreng (fried rice) This food saved my morning. I know it looks like lunch in the west instead of breakfast. Anw you can request the level of spiciness ;) I suggest you to look for recommended restaurant first prior to try indonesian foods, they may look the same but the chef is different. Sometimes their ethnicity background may influence the dish too. For example, Javanese tends to cook "sweet" taste dishes when some Sundanese prefers salty or a bit sour taste. 3. Nasi padang (Minangnese rice/dish) One of its dish was recognized as the tastier food in the world (i think ) by the UN? Yes it's true. You'll pay based on how many foods on the plates you eat. Thus, remember it! Different than other region, i think the sambal made by minangnese isn't that spicy which makes it 😋. Moreover, sate padang is totally different than sate ayam/sate kambing! Some people said fish head isn't healthy, however, the minangnese knows how to cook it delicately. 4. Martabak Nowadays, they have so many choices of toppings and flavors. 5. 🐟 No words just love it! However, take care of the hygiene of the food, the way they clean the plate and stuffs. All in all, nice video and looking forward to your revisit in Indonesia ;)
Indonesia is a paradise for delicious food, from Sabang to Merauke they have excellent food and drinks. From heavy food, rather heavy food, snacks, various types of drinks and also fruits 🇮🇩👍😍
I rarely commenton videos, but this one was awesome. I'd definitely eat that last meal. The prawns & fish looked amazing. & That giant pancake type thing would be the perfect dessert for a big family gathering as a little seems to go a long way. Awesome video 👍☺️
True, especially from house of padang restaurant he just want to eat big head fish with a curry sauce, it takes a lot of prices but he didn’t even touch other food that been given... guess there is something wrong with their honesty
Trevor paid too much with $41 in the Padang restaurant. He could possibly pay only around $20-25. Why? In Padang restaurant principally you pay the number of pieces of food that you eat from the small plates. So if there are two pieces of rendang in the plate and you only take 1 piece they charge you only one, not two or not the whole plate. Therefore use spoon to take the rendang piece; not like Trevor, because he used his hand directly then the whole two pieces are "touched" and become unhygienic (and cannot be sold anymore) and Trevor had to pay both pieces. Had he used the spoon, he could have paid half price of the rendang plate portion. This is the same to other stuff like grilled fish, chicken gravy, cow brain in gravy, etc. as long as they are in big pieces (usually they give two pieces per small plate so that easy for the waiters/waitresses to count how many you have eaten). But different to other stuff in plates that you cannot count like chili prawns, chili chicken liver, soup, sate Padang; although you take a small part of it from the plate then you have to pay the whole plate. Indonesians are usually generous with the gravy, if you like more, just ask politely, they will add more gravy and they don't charge.
For real? I subscribe you since long time a go but I barely get notif that you go to my country Indonesia 😭😭😭,welcome to Indonesia and hope you enjoy our foods and bless your tummy 😊😊😊
Kalo lagi makan makanan dari luar negeri rasanya kurang pas di lidah, kirain karena udah kebiasaan makan makanan Indonesia, ternyata memang lebih enak.
this is an amazing video Trevor! however, one quick tip, Sweet literally means Manis in Bahasa. therefore, when you said Manis Sweet Sauce, it would refer to Sweet Sweet Sauce. I'd prefer use the term "Soya Sweet Sauce" (as the sause made from soya and its sweet! good luck for your next video. Cheers!
I remember my first foodgasm with nasi padang.. that year i have to change my jeans size from 34 to 36. Western indo island is full nutty and curry based food. It is really bad for your waist line. You should try the variety of soto (soup) from west and east indo. It's wierd that every island have it's own distinct spice.
Wow... i would love to visit Indonesia and experience their food... some of their words are close to our Tagalog language... like sarap, kambing and so on... 👍👍👍
whoa finally you taste indonesian feast. unfortunately thats just a few type of foods, i hope you can stay more and travel to every region in indonesia, cause every region have their own special traditional food. i recommend you this city : 1. Padang (West Sumatera) 2. Bandung (West Java) 3. Surabaya (East Java) 4. Palembang (South Sumatera) 5. Medan (North Sumatera) and 6. Bali (it's a Must) if you come to Indonesia and haven't come to Bali, you'll be disappointed. pardon me for my bad english, and by the way it's just information, you can ignore it ;)

I hope you can visiting another city in indonesia. Especially in west java, central java and east java, you will be find another taste and any kind of food over there
One of the ladie in the video asked her friend why you make weird sounds and you eat and why you repeat random phrases over and over again, she can be heard asking if you are retarded in indonesian. How do you not notice that part!? I would of edited that part out!!!
Kamran Xeb okay imagine this... u went to a country, you were eating the food and would you have known what that stew is? And btw curry is a stew with lot of spices in it so he is not wrong
My mouth is overflowing with saliva ATM,Seems like I can smell those dishes all the way here in PH. Feels like indonesian foods hits home in my tastebuds liking! Awesome dishes I wanna try it all!!!
LoL you could try to go to San Francisco. The city has reputation with good Indonesian restaurants outside Indonesia. Well this is accordingly to the opinions of Indonesians who have went there, of course lol
That skill though!!! They are able to mix the nasi goreng without anything falling is amazing!!! I'm amazed on how some of their words are similiar to TAGALOG, (Philippines language). I thought u were speaking tagalog lol! My ears are playing tricks on me :)
Yep, some words pronounced nearly the same, have a same meaning, but a bit different in writing (even some words have a same writing). Ex: Ako=Aku, salamat=selamat, mahal=mahal
The Food Ranger hey! can you vlog your transportation for these places? Do you use a plane or a train? I just love the transportations in Asia and I wish to do what you do for a living. This is my happiness.
Are you still in Indonesia? Try visiting Yogyakarta if I may suggest you. There are lots of delicious foods there with cheaper price than in Jakarta. It'd be my pleasure to guide you there

Friendly People... Love Indonesia
1. Rice porridge (bubur ayam)
Looking good, but you have to mix them before eating it so the spices and seasoning could be evenly distributed and tastier.
2. Nasi rames (mixed rice) and nasi goreng (fried rice)
This food saved my morning. I know it looks like lunch in the west instead of breakfast. Anw you can request the level of spiciness ;)
I suggest you to look for recommended restaurant first prior to try indonesian foods, they may look the same but the chef is different. Sometimes their ethnicity background may influence the dish too. For example, Javanese tends to cook "sweet" taste dishes when some Sundanese prefers salty or a bit sour taste.
3. Nasi padang (Minangnese rice/dish)
One of its dish was recognized as the tastier food in the world (i think ) by the UN?
Yes it's true. You'll pay based on how many foods on the plates you eat. Thus, remember it! Different than other region, i think the sambal made by minangnese isn't that spicy which makes it 😋. Moreover, sate padang is totally different than sate ayam/sate kambing! Some people said fish head isn't healthy, however, the minangnese knows how to cook it delicately.
4. Martabak
Nowadays, they have so many choices of toppings and flavors.
5. 🐟
No words just love it! However, take care of the hygiene of the food, the way they clean the plate and stuffs.
All in all, nice video and looking forward to your revisit in Indonesia ;)
TIDAAAKKKK BUBUR JANGAN DIADUK XD
Ratri saya bubur di aduk terus setiap kali makan, lebih enak menurut ku
Chicken Rice Porridge yg bener
Ada 2 macam cara makan bubur ayam, ada yg diaduk dan ada yg tidak diaduk. Klo saya termasuk di kubu yang diaduk 😁😁😁😁😁

The same, im in Taiwan too
If you want to eat in indonesia, you have to bring 1 of indonesia friend with you so you cant lied to. Just my suggestion
nahh not really
True, especially from house of padang restaurant he just want to eat big head fish with a curry sauce, it takes a lot of prices but he didn’t even touch other food that been given... guess there is something wrong with their honesty
Where part did trevor being lied by the seller? I think the price is just normal in jakarta..
Jakarta bro/sist! harganya emng agak beda sama daerah
i was there this year, and i missed nasi goreng... :D but babi guling is still hanging in my tongue.
incredible indonesia....
Cosmopolitan Man this one was getting my attention too
I cant agree you more, He's paying too much for Padang Food. Rice with rendang only cost him USD 1.2 -1.5
Don’t forget the crew guys .. they’re need to eat too
@@sewapianojakarta4304
In Central Jakarta at Benhill street, nasi padang with beef rendang just $ 1,2
Don't forget they used they hand. Makanya dihitung 2 Krn gk higienis lg cuy.😅 But for that headfish, i think it is too expensive dude
Lihat keramahan orang kita dengan negara lain di video ini asli gila❤️
Coba lihat pas dia di Pakistan. Itu bner2 amazing bngt

Yok coming indonesia sir
this is an amazing video Trevor! however, one quick tip, Sweet literally means Manis in Bahasa. therefore, when you said Manis Sweet Sauce, it would refer to Sweet Sweet Sauce. I'd prefer use the term "Soya Sweet Sauce" (as the sause made from soya and its sweet! good luck for your next video. Cheers!
Thanks so much Mutiara!!
The proper english name would be "sweet soy sauce".

Yah Nasgor Kambing Kebon Sirih. Pantesam enak.
congratulations on reaching 900k subs.
Thank you!!
Thank you for visiting Indonesia. Really appreciate it :)
Best food ever right?
You bet... man, how lucky you are... 👍👍👍
whoa finally you taste indonesian feast. unfortunately thats just a few type of foods, i hope you can stay more and travel to every region in indonesia, cause every region have their own special traditional food. i recommend you this city :
