I have had the great fortune to experience amazing traditional Indonesian cooking through my father who was born and raised there as a young adult. There was never a day our kitchen went without freshly prepared sambal and properly prepared rice. We have lived in the US since the 1970s. Beef and pork was rarely a part of our regular meal agenda. Rather, fish and chicken were the most affordable and conducive to the Indonesian dishes we were accustomed to when we migrated to the US. It is my dream to visit all of Indonesia - and experience the various regions and cuisines it has to offer. Thanks Sonny - and keep on inspiring us to explore the world through cuisine. Kiss, kiss, hug, hug....and all that mushy stuff.
Whew, that guy did not go easy on ya! I love the brutal honesty! It's kinda refreshing to see someone not try and be completely "camera" friendly and for to be themselves because a lot times in videos like this some of the hosts can be too friendly and it can come off kinda fake with no personality. I love Asian food especially Southeast Asian cuisine. I love Indonesian food too. Finally, street food that is halal & not too weird or too exotic. I havent tried the buffet style Padang food when I was in Padang. I love the bakso in Batam behind Da Vienna Boutique Hotel. The food in Indonesia is also cheap. It's funny how Sonny pronounced Padang like pedang - sword. I miss travelling to other countries & experiencing food & culture. Hopefully covid19 will end soon.

Unfortunately, there are many Indonesian cuisines that you can eat. Bakso, Bakmi, Sate, Pecal, Pempek, Martabak, Nasi Uduk, Lontong Sayur, Soto, Mie Aceh, Rujak, Gulai, and many more 🤤
It depends on the person and cultural background, but it's true Indonesians rarely says "senang bertemu Anda (nice to meet you)". More often say "apa kabar" or "Assalamualaikum" or "selamat pagi/siang/sore".
Finally after a year since I asked you to go to try Indonesia you finally gave it a go :). It's been a while since I dropped by to your channel and welcome to Indonesia the traffic may be hectic but we got food XD

FYI indonesian people almost never say "nice to meet you" when they meet new people. at least not the literal meaning of nice to meet you
Its more common like "how are you?" when they meet, or in indonesian "apa kabar?"
It depends on the person and cultural background, but it's true Indonesians rarely says "senang bertemu Anda (nice to meet you)". More often say "apa kabar" or "Assalamualaikum" or "selamat pagi/siang/sore".
you can say "Hai, senang berkenalan" in a cute and fancy way, but ehh..
